Shutter Up

Bruce from Shutter Up was amazing to work with. I originally got a quote from them a few years ago, then the priority for shutters got pushed down on my list until recently. He gave me a deal on the new price (more in line with the price from a few years ago) because I came back to them. The quality is fantastic, the choices in color and finish are great, and the installation process was quick and easy. Would definitely use them again!

I had worked with Bruce at Shutter Up previously to install shutters on my home. I was extremely pleased with that entire process. So, when several windows leaked in the recent rain storms I called Bruce again for a replacement window quote. Bruce came out today and after working with one of the leaking windows for about 20 minutes found a design problem as well as a simple solution. He actually fixed the one window we were looking at and showed me how it was done! I will call a handy man to fix the remaining windows, which is a relatively simple process. But once again, I'm so pleased with Bruce and Shutter Up. I suspect that any number of companies would have quoted me a price for new windows without examining the cause of the problem. And I would have spent thousands of dollars unnecessarily. Bruce worked himself out of a sale today but has certainly earned my appreciation and undying loyalty. I will welcome any opportunity to make additional referrals.

After I'd taken the morning off of work the salesperson called me at the time of our appointment to let me know he wouldn't be able to make it within my timeframe. I wasted a half day off for nothing!

Everything went fine on both jobs. Had a slight problem with the shutters but both Bruce (the salesman) and Joe (the owner) were very accommodating and quickly resolved it. Would certainly recommend them and would go to them for any future jobs we might have.

I went to the Shutter Up showroom in April 2013 to view different hurricane protection options for my house. Bruce Stewart met with me at my house on 5/2/2013 where we discussed my options; his explanations helped me make a decision. A contract was written for two Bahama shutters on the front of my house and clear storm panels for the remaining windows and two doors. Installation of the shutters and fasteners for the clear panels was completed in one day, 6/13/2013. The installers were very professional and neat. However, the operable pinlatches on the two Bahama shutters were on the exterior instead of on the interior as I had requested. Bruce quickly took responsiblity for the error. He suggested that the change be made after hurricane season since that was the main purpose of my purchase. The adjustment was completed by 1/15/2014.

A wonderful experience, I knew from the first time I spoke to Bruce on the phone, that this was going to be a good experience. Most window people in New Orleans won't even talk to you unless you need 5 windows. Bruce talked to me on the phone about my job, came out within a few days and measured the windows, answered all my questions about the replacement windows, wrote up the contract, I paid him to order the windows and they were in New Orleans from the manufacturer within 4-5 weeks. He set up an easy installation with the property manager and the job was done in one day. Because I live out of town, Bruce emailed me pictures of the completed job both interior and exterior. The photos were high quality and I could see that it was professionally done. Both my property manager and tenant were very satisfied with the work done and new windows. He even gave me some good ideas about what I could do to keep some old windows of architectural significance and make them more energy efficient. I am very satisfied with this job and company and would use them again and recommend them to anybody.

It's taken me awhile to sit down and write this review but better late than never. Shutter Up is a fantastic company for hurricane shutters. The owner himself came to check everything out and give me the estimate. He and his crew came no fewer than 3 times doing their best to repair the broken shutters before trying to sell me more expensive new ones. How refreshing!! If you need hurricane shutters and want personal, professional service, go to Shutter Up and not the big shutter companies. I can definitely give them my highest recommendation.

The team arrived on the day expected, assembled and installed the shutter, the electricians came and handled the installation of the remote control for the interior raising and lowering of the shutter. Everything was done meticulously and professionally. I am extremely pleased with the response of the owner, Joe Maitrejean, his office staff and his team of installers. Even though we have not had any threat of hurricanes this year, I feel very much relieved to have this installed over the large old windows on the northeast side of the house. Joe was very helpful in suggesting the color choice, the Croci Shutter is an amazing product- it looks great, and is as quiet as closing a curtain. Joe also offered to assist me with other window issues for smaller windows, which I will definitely look into. I believe this company has customer satisfaction as its highest value- they will advise you in the purchase of the best product for your individual situation, and even look into products they may not usually carry in case something else would meet your needs. Although this is an expensive investment- I believe the price for the quality and service was very fair. I would not hesitate to recommend Shutter Up to others who may be searching for quality, reliable advice about hurricane shutters and window protection. Thank you Shutter Up for helping me and my family feel so much safer- for any storm event.

Bruce with Shutter Up came out and understood our needs. He did not try to upsell the product. He understood we had an old house and just wanted an econimical solution. He was prompt and professional. The shutters were installed within 2 weeks of acceptance of proposal which was great since we are entering the hurricane season which is a busy time for this service. I would highly recommend this service.

Shutter Up solved a problem with a Hurricane Shutter which was installed by another Company approximately a year ago in May 2012. I had repeatedly called the Installer's company during this time without results. The shutter was in the down position and was supposed to have remote capability to raise and lower the shutter.. It was unusable. The room was in darkness without electric lights. I finally came to the conclusion that the company was not going to complete this job.. Shutter Up solved my problem and I now can raise and lower my Hurricane Shutter and I have natural light !!!!!

This is an owner-operated company. We had estimated from 7 different companies. When Bruce (one of the owners) came out to our house, (within the time frame he originally said he would arrive), he gave us the best no-nonsense estimate we had received yet. He was honest and obviously proud of the product he was selling. We got to choose the type and color of our shutters...there was no "limited" quantity of colors for us to choose from and no extra charge for any of the colors. (Other companies only had a limited amount of colors for the standard charge...if we wanted something different from those colors, there was a significant increase in cost.) Our shutters arrived in the prescribed amount of time and were installed within 3 hours. I don't know if this is standard, but the salesman/owner was on site when the shutters arrived to confirm with me that all was as we had ordered. The staff that installed them were professional and courteous. Who could ask for more?
