SCOTT REFRIGERATION SVC

A/c not blowing cold air on Saturday night. Had my a/c guy assess situation Sunday and filed a claim with my warranty company. They assigned me to a Heating and A/C company, but I was informed Monday morning that company couldn't visit that day...maybe Tuesday. I fought with warranty company to find someone to come out that Monday, seeing as the main living area had no a/c and it was over 90 degrees outside. They found Scott Refrigeration. I called Dean Scott around 9:00am to schedule an appointment. Was told he was busy, but could make it out "later that afternoon"...he would call when closer to the time. At noon, I called him again to see if he had any better idea of when he was coming because I had commitments and could not be home all day waiting [**Update - I was also holding an appointment the next day with the original A/C vendor assigned to my claim, so if Mr. Scott did not make it to my house, I could get someone out the next day versus waiting until Wednesday, hence the 2nd phone call**]. He said he didn't have a time, but he would call later. Around 7pm he called to come by....when he arrived, he made a comment that we called him too much that day and he couldn't get his work done if he had to keep answering the phone. Then he was frustrated b/c the warranty company told him we didn't have a/c, so it had to be looked at that Monday. We did have a/c, but only in the bedrooms [**Update - It was over 80 degrees in the house**]. He diagnosed the problem as a bad compressor and capacitor and left, stating that he would call it in. I paid him the $60.00 as outlined in my warranty agreement. It wasn't until after 9pm the following day [**Update - As told to me by the warranty company**] that he called in the problem to the warranty company for them to start the process of approving the fix. This caused me considerable delays in getting my a/c fixed, as I had to wait all Tuesday for him to provide the warranty company the necessary information, then they informed me parts had to be ordered taking a couple more days. I opted for the cash value and got my a/c guy to fix on Thursday. In conclusion, Dean Scott kept his word and checked my a/c on the promised day, but because he appears to be a one-man company, there is no telling when he can fit you in. I also didn't appreciate the comments about calling him too much [**Update - I called three times with atleast 3 hours in between each call and for specific reasons**] or the fact that I could survive with the bedroom a/c. Some of this could have been communication issues with my warranty company [**Update - and Mr. Scott was true to his word, working until 7:30pm to get to my house on Monday**], but communication could have been better so I will give him the benefit of the doubt and rate him a "C".
