Was hired to remodel master bathroom, gave us an estimate of $3,990.00 which claimed to cover everything. After the demolition began he imformed us he did not do the electrical piece but since it was such a small job of just adding two recessed lights he would handle it for us. Also, informed us that the estimate did not include the tile or other floor materials. Claimed it was a misunderstanding between us and he apologized. We went and purchased the materials ourselves, he went pick everything up, and started the job of tiling the floor first. After one day of work he showed up with a helper who is an underwater welder who he was teaching the art of tiling. In the end the helper ended up laying all our bathroom floor because Jeff left and went work on other jobs. Our bathroom floor is not level by no means, grout is smeared on base boards and the floor is now 2 inches higher then any other floor in the house. He sent the helper into the attic to install the recessed lights, while in the attic the helper then caused significant damage to our home electrical system resulting in a certified electrician coming in and charging us $1,055.00 to repair all the damages caused by him. Once Jeff began working in the shower he insisted he would correct the errors in the floor and make everything look great. After receiving a payment of $340.00 on April 15th to so say pay the plumber, he disappeared, claiming his mother passed away in Texas. Neither, myself, my wife, or the plumber ever received a single phone call or text message from him for 16 days. All of us at some point during that time tried to contact him with no success. The plumber so he could get his money Jeff never paid him, I ended up paying the plumber myself so he would give me a receipt saying the contractor never paid him. On May 2nd I finally received a call from him asking when he could come collect the rest of his money of $925.00, I explained to him I would have to get back with him and asked when will you come complete the job, hes said well there is not much left so I will come this week I guess. He then texted me 2 days later at 1 in the morning, insisting I meet with him to pay him so he could pay the plumber, so I informed him I had already paid the plumber and that we had hired someone else to complete the job. Within 5 minutes I then received a text saying "Maybe we should talk about this." Before I could reply he then texted me threatening me with a lawsuit, lien on my home and garnish my paycheck. After not receiving a response from me, he began texting my wife which progressed into threatening text messages in the middle of the night over and over again. Long story short, we have since pressed 3 different charges against him for harassment, as well as stalking charges. He sent a message saying "he did not seal our shower corners so he hopes it leaks and we have to pay someone to rip it all up and redo the whole thing." After filing the police reports we found out he has a record for felony theft as well as outstanding judgements against him from vendors as well as other customers. A complete and total nightmare I hope no one else has to ever deal with!
