"Thank you! So happy we were able to help you with this project! Hope to hear from you again for any future needs!"
"Thank you! So happy we were able to help you with this project! Looking forward to the upcoming siding work!!!"
Next project will be the kitchen and Sean will again handle it.
They did negotiate price some to be competitive.
Reviewed entire job with supervisor before work started.
Cons:
Called at last minute to come out, so we didn't have time to do self remove of
old gutters (so the begrudgingly did it for free).
Supervisor left after crew started working, and they needed direction. Did not feel they were professional at all.
Had to loan them my ladder, as they didn't come fully prepared.
Caught them using some smaller size wood in eaves than what they pulled out (2x4 vs 2x6). Insisted they correct.
Also had to make them fix woodwork that was not in-line/square with existing woodwork.
Explicitly explained to supervisor that downspouts needed to exit on ground, not into old clogged drain pipes. The crew ignored this on 4 out of 7, so I had to fix myself.
Not at all happy with appearance of how outside corners of gutters are assembled -very rough and amateur looking.
Had to clean up lots of leftover scrap all around house, wood and metal. Luckily no one stepped on jagged aluminum.
There was no follow up visit or call.
The next project they did for us was a closet addition... they were almost done but the window was 2" off center with the house and so they redid it - I was amazed because I didnt even notice (and I usually notice little things like that) and I didn't have to ask - they just had to make it just right.
The next project we did was replacing windows, then a master bathroom renovation - turned out great... then we did a back house renovation, then two bathroom renovations. Everything has turned out awesome.
I enjoy working with SES, and their work speaks for itself. I have worked with other contractors in the past (this is our second Garden District home) but after working with SES I wouldn't recommend anyone else.
"Always a pleasure! Thank you for your kind words! We look forward to seeing how this new project turns out! Its going to be beautiful!!!!"
"Thank you! So happy we were able to help you with this project!"
We had to call the main office and find out where the workers were on two occasions when a.) they didn't show up on time for the first day of work and b.) when they didn't show up to put the finishing touches on the fence on the second day.
The foreman was very nice and seemed to be the only one "with it".
The job did get done and we are satisfied with the work, but I found that the level of babysitting was a little bit more than I would care for and it was a very "New Orleans" type of experience.
"So sorry to hear about your experience. We at SES pride ourselves on punctuality. Am not sure what went wrong here but will be sure to address. Thank you."
One thing that is apparent about this company, which has over 30 employees, is that at least with respect to the ones I met, they all seem like a close family, work great together and all have great customer service. I left them a key and after leaving them working in the morning, came home to a clean house. (And that's not easy to do with renovations happening).
"Always a pleasure!!! Thank you!!!"
After all work was completed Shawn came back out to make sure we were happy with everything, and there were a couple small things we asked if they could do that were not in the original description of work because we didn't think of it at the time, and he had his guys come back to take care of them.
We have used them one time since then to fix a fence that was affected by Hurricane Isaac and to replace several windows. And this job went very well also.
"Thank you! So happy we were able to help you with this project and hope to be able to help you with any future needs!!!"
Because our ceiling and wall were taken down to fix the leak we decided to use the opportunity to add built in shelves in the wall. Their carpentry crew was awesome! They had the brilliant idea to add lights to the built ins making them so great for displaying art.
They rebuild dormer windows that were never sealed on the outside. The exterior needed carpntry work and paint and they were very detail oriented.
We also used SES to do the exterior painting in our courtyard which included a number of balconies. Their quote was far less than others had tried to charge us (difficult access being in the quarter makes many painters want to rip you off) and although it took a long time to get scheduled because they are so booked up when they did come they were done in no time. It was a huge job and it took them barely a week. They repaired some of our leaking and fallen gutters when they did this too as a bonus!
The last and largest job was the front facade. We had many deep cracks in the stucco and it needed to be completely resurfaced. Their crew did an expert job.
