I have a Samsung dishwasher that was sending out a "low level water" error. They attempted to repair it. It took over a month... and it ultimately wasn't fixed. VSS is a mom and pop shop that is run by a father and son. They a very nice guys which is probably why I let this go on for so long. With the blinking lights providing the error it seemed that they were able to quickly figure out what they needed to do. They showed me a plastic part on the side that appeared to be preventing the water from getting into the dishwasher. Simple enough, right? Wrong. First, it was difficult to determine the part number. Since I was there (with my computer) I googled and found the part, and gave them the info. They then called Samsung for the part... and it went down hill from there. VSS doesn't have a parts department so the tech has to figure it out himself. Samsung doesn't sell parts directly (I guess), so it became a nightmare to get it. For some reason it took more than a week to get the part, and I gather at some point someone on the phone convinced them that they didn't want the original part they showed me. When they did come back to the house they had a different part from the one they orginally showed me. The younger kid showed up to install this valve by himself. During this visit he bumped the dishwasher corner against the edge of the cabinets and put in a (VERY) small dent, he also put a small scratch on the hard woods (I think from a button on his jeans). I didn't complain about either of these issues at the time. I live in an older house with lots of small dings and scratches, so it didn't make sense to me to bring those up. Anyway, he finished the installation and off he went. A day later I discovered water coming out from underneath the dishwasher, and a couple of the floor boards warping. I immediately called them and they were able to come back to the house a couple days later. This time it was both the father and the son. They pulled the dishwasher out spent some time fiddling with it, and then advised that the part was defective. Here's the kicker - it took them nearly two more weeks to get the part. They had difficulty returning the other one, and then the wrong was shipped. I kept calling for updates only to hear the next part of the saga - wrong part, long shipping times, etc. The entire time having already gone online myself and determined I could have had it shipped overnight on Amazon.com. I told them about Amazon several times, but since they were returning another part I think that was off the table. At this point I called Choice and told them to get it in gear with VSS. It took a few calls but finally the part was available. Not sure if it was Choice, VSS, or if the part finally just showed up, but they finally arrived with the part. All in all it took a couple days MORE THAN A MONTH for them to repair my dishwasher.... and then it broke again a week and a half later. As you can imagine, I called Choice back and insisted that they dispatch it to another service provider at no charge. Choice had no problem doing that... and the next repair company was able to get it fixed within two days (same issue).
