Intrepid Stone Specialties

We had Carrara marble installed. We didn't have the greatest experience with them. They sent out the team to install the stone. But, they came out at like 8 o' clock in the morning and had to wait in our driveway until 3 o' clock in the afternoon. So, after waiting all day for the countertops to install, they chipped the marble and did a kind of sloppy job. They stayed at our house until 8 o' clock at night to finish the job. Then when I called them and said, "Why would you send out the stone to somebody's house at 3 o' clock?" They said, "We have to pay them for their time." It's like, "You wasted their time. So, why would you send the stone out to be installed from 3 o' clock in the afternoon till after 8 o' clock at night?" It was pitiful. And then you have these chips and gaps and things. It really wasn't installed well. They didn't want to discount the price because of the inconvenience and all the time that they wasted. It was like, "You owe us the balance." So we just paid it off. They were extremely expensive. We're living with this pathetic job. I would not use them and I wouldn't recommend them either. I'm just so disappointed with the way my kitchen looks. The way they resolved it, where it was chipped they just filled it in with putty. The guy that came was very arrogant.

I had shopped around with 4 different granite companies before deciding on Intrepid Stone on the west bank of New Orleans. Their prices were reasonable and competitive and the selection was about the same as others. After we had chosen the stone we wanted it took about 10 days for them to come and install. We were happy with the installation. There was one minor problem with the portion of granite around the cook top, but they came back out and fixed it.

This is an incredible company. The pricing was fair. They did a great installation.

They were professional, did a quality job, and the price was right. We were extremely pleased.

I went to the showroom and chose the granite I liked. I brought a sample home and confirmed that I liked my choice. I then went to the showroom and Mr. Bourgeois brought me outside to choose the slabs I would need. He answered all my questions about the upcoming job. Then the measurer came to my house and stayed about 30 minutes precisely measuring the job. After that, I received a call to confirm that the site would be ready for the work to begin. This meant that my plumber would unhook the sink and the electrician would unhhok the cooktop prior to the start date. These two workers actually came the morning of the work date so I wouldn't have to be without sink or stove too long. Intrepid workers showed up precisely at the time they said they would. The job laster from 9:30 am to 3 pm that day. The two men thoroughly cleaned up the place before they left. It was a very pleasant experience.
