From the sales guy who came to the house, to the production people at the office, to the installer who did an excellent job in one day, the whole experience was terrific. I would recommend these guys to anyone!

Absolutely perfectly. I have had about ten people comment on how good the carport looks. And it does not leak at all.

My experience here was very pleasant. Dealing with other renovation companies, I was a little hesitant on even considering going forward with getting my shower updated. The call center girls were a HUGE help! They talked me through the whole process and reassured my concerns considering the fact that I am on a fixed income. Mr. Mike came out and was so easy to talk to, he sat down with me, designed my shower with me and went over financing. SOLD! lol.. Overall, I’m happy with my experience thus far, just hoping my installation goes just as smooth. will update my review later.

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the amazing job the team at Direct Source Renovations did. I recently had a whole home renovation done (Kitchen, Baths, Flooring, HVAC, Sheetrock, etc.) and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The service was prompt, professional, and the final product exceeded my expectations. The design consultant was courteous & knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure I understood each phase of the renovation. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of any home renovation work.

I ordered and paid for hurricane shutters on Aug 3,2022. I was told they were on a 15 week backlog. About two weeks later they measured and “placed the order.” Two or three weeks later they called to say that the color I wanted was not available so we substituted a different color. I called the office several times before I could get anyone to talk with me. On my most recent call, the “manager”, Jimmy said that after 30 weeks the roll up shutters were just outside his office but he would have to call me back about the status of the other 12 sets. Since then he won’t return my calls.

The service provided byDirect Source was at best poor. There was no management of the project. I?ve listed the points where mismanagement occurred. The contract included money to move the breaker box and wiring from the back of the house. With the installed new siding, the back of the house would be free of electrical wiring and equipment. So either Direct Source didn't give the electrical sub-contractor all the information or the electrical sub-contractor didn?t pass the information to their employees. The electrician moved the breaker box but then installed a junction box in the middle of the back of the house. This was completely unacceptable and the electricians had to move it to the side of the house. We had no electricity for about 48 hours during this process. There was no oversight of the project by the Direct Source staff. I was at home the day the patio cover was installed. The plan was for the posts to be cemented in the ground. However, the installers didn?t know this and had cut the posts for mounting on the patio. I noticed this and the installers revised their plans. They had to purchase additional materials. Again, there was no oversight by the Direct Source staff. This is yet another example of poor project management. Finally, the electrician arrived to install the ceiling fans. Fan beams had been incorporated into the insulated patio cover for the electrical wiring associated with the ceiling fans. The electrician told me that the wiring for the ceiling fans could not be fished behind the siding. The patio cover extended too high for easy access. So, the electrician installed a gray metal conduit horizontally along the underside of the patio cover and vertically near the switch. Subsequently, I found out that the wiring could have been fished behind the siding, albeit at additional effort and cost. I was very upset with the outcome of this installation. I had not paid the additional $1300 to move the breaker box and junction box from the back of the house to have these metal conduits ?decorate? the house. I asked Allen with Direct Source about removing these metal conduits and fishing the wiring. He told me it would be too expensive and wouldn?t happen. A project manager with experience and doing his job should have planned the work knowing what the outcome of the job. The electrical wiring should have been run before the siding was installed. There was no cleanup following the work. Cox Cable had to come out to reinstall cable to the upstairs for a cost of $367.32. The alarm company had to come out to hook up to the phone line, another $324.00. There are still cables, hoses, etc. exposed. I cannot recommend Direct Source Home Renovations to anyone.
Description of Work: The contract was signed to replace siding on the back of the house and to install a new insulated patio cover with 2 ceiling fan beams. It also included electrical work to move the breaker box from the back to the side of the house so the back of the house would be free of electrical wiring and equipment, and to install 2 ceiling fans.

The project did not start on the day promised, and roofers would only show up after I would call to complain. A project that should have taken two days ended up taking ten. When the workers left (no one was home), they left a 5' by 4' pile of trash, did not re-install gutter that they had taken down, failed to paint areas that they had repaired on garage, and left roofing nails and shingles all over yard. The actual work they performed was satisfactory but the lack of professionalism in fully completing job, not showing up to work on a daily basis and then mess that was left rates the grade of F. Rather than call and complain again, I deducted $500 from invoice, wrote letter to Direct Source stating the problem and cc'd my lawyer. I would NEVER use them again, and only wish I had checked Angie's List prior to contacting them.

The quality of the shutters when showed them of the defects. It was not received by the sales representative well. To avoid any further delay just let them finish installing eventhough we were not fully satisfied and they did not correct the defects eventhough they acknowledge the defects. I personally feel that the Sales representative was only concern of this commission than being concern on the satisfaction of the customer. Definitely I will NOT recommend them to my friends.

The guys didn't know what they were doing.after allowing them to install the tile on the bathroom floor, all of it had to be taken up. The job proformance was totally unacceptable. Please don't use this company!!!I had other contractors to come in and look at this job, they couldn't believe what they were looking at.They didn't complete the job, we had to rehire a plumber and another tile person to come in behind them.WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE ALSO they submitted the BILL AND WAS PAID FOR WORK THAT WAS NOT FINISHED!!!

Direct Source, should be referred to as Direct Source for Headaches. In the winter, you can not open one of the doors in the screen room but after my experience with Direct Source, I'll have to deal with it until I can hire a professional because I just don't ever want to deal with Direct Source again. It was a horrible experience.
Description of Work: This is in response to the previous review that Direct Source would not provide a written estimate, well, maybe because they do not go by their own estimates. From the beginning, this was nothing but a headache. The cement people came to pour the slab, when I got home, instead of a step going into the screen room from my home, there was a slope, which had about a five inch difference in the width, plus a big hole in the side. On top of this, luckily I had my termite guy coming over to treat the ground before they poured the cement because they broke a pipe on the side and instead of trying to stop it, the guy was standing there just watching the water. It took my termite guy telling him that he needed to do something before he did. I had a screen room installed, Vincent was the one I got stuck with, supposedly he was suppose to be their "best". He measured the area for the screen room several times, but I guess I should have written down the measurements for him because the top was suppose to go to the end of one side of the slab. He cut it short by about three feet on the paperwork that he gave to Jesse, the owner of Magic Touch. One top of that, the measurements that Jesse had for the job did not match the written estimate that Vincent gave me. When I showed the written estimate to Jesse, he called Vincent's boss to see what to do, Jeremy (Vincent's boss) told Jesse to go by what I tell him, so the screen room was done by the measurements it was suppose to be, but had I not been there watching over everything, it would have been shorted out. On top of the screen room, I also had siding and gutters installed. When the siding guys took off the dryer vent, they just tossed it aside and it got bent when they laid a box of siding on top of it. Vincent told them that they will have to bend it back into place and put it back on my house after, he was not putting a new vent. The foremen over the siding people had to convince Vincent that would not be the right thing to do considering I was getting new siding installed and that they will never be able to rebend it back like it was. I believe the siding foreman ended up buying my dryer vent because Vincent just couldn't seem to understand this. On top of this, on their "Mission Statement" they claim that they will make adjustments to satisfy a customer request, Vincent didn't seem to know this because they were not putting the gutters at the same angle, but Vincent told me that the lights would have to go back like they were. This would now mean the lights would do nothing but shine directly into a gutter pipe. I told him that if the wires are long enough, they should be able to make adjustments. Vincent was determined to have them back where they were regardless, but instead of wasting anymore time with him, I told him to leave and talked to foreman for the siding company that was also installing the gutters. He told me not to worry about Vincent and he would install them the right way. At this point, I had to tell Vincent to get off my property and I will work with the siding foreman on getting the job done.

Allen called me back and gave me his quotes over the phone. I had asked him several questions about the quote, what it entailed, what parts of the patio cover were covered, and not covered, just to get an idea as to whether we were on the same page. You could have an entire patio cover, or just the panel roofing without the frame and without the poles. If you have good poles and a good frame, you might just want the roof panels. When I instructed him to send me the quotes via email and or fax, he said he was not going to prepare a written quote because he did not want to do the work of everybody else and have me take his quote and shop it around and then maybe not use him. I don't know why this seems to be a continuing trend with contractors not wanting to submit written estimates and quotes here in the New Orleans Metropolitan area, but I can tell you that anyone that refuses to put it in writing when asked for an estimate is just not serious about doing business. When someone only wants to give a quote over the phone or just write it down in a notebook and just show it to you, general contractors, homeowners, and other consumers should question whether they are dealing with a reputable business. Verbals should never be accepted as a quote or an estimate because without the quote, you don't have the specs, and without the specs and the price, you have no idea what the price is for. Anyone that refuses to give you a written estimate or quote in writing should be avoided. I told him I needed a quote for insurance purposes and that I could not go on a verbal and he then said that I was going to have to send him the insurance estimate and that he would deal with the insurance company directly. In response, I thanked him for his time (and decided to cross Direct Source off my list for this project). His quote did not count, since it was only verbal. I don't go off verbals and I don't have time to deal with someone that starts giving me problems right off the bat. Maybe I caught this guy on a bad day, maybe they just don't do residential work anymore, but if a business can't give me a written estimate or written quote for the job at hand, then there is no place else to go. I can't use them. They don't even get into the running. With the way this economy is and with that type of business model, I really wish them luck in the future. Tip of the Day: Homeowners = Decision Makers. Insurance companies are not decision makers; they may be a factor, but they are not the decision makers.
Description of Work: Requested a quote for a patio cover replacement. Sent in pics of the patio cover along with measurements. I had used them before for a patio cover years ago and they did a good job and did it for a good price. I always see their commercials on the air and like I said, since I had already used them once before I was willing to give them a shot.
