Sweeping Hands

They were just okay. Two people were dropped off at the house, they didn't speak English and they didn't follow my direction as to what I needed to have done, and then they were not good at all. They didn't do the baseboards, and they didn't do the deep cleaning. I wouldn't use them again. There was nobody representing the company that came and talked to me, they dropped them off and then they came and picked them up. They should have somebody to come in and find out what you want in English and relate it to the ladies. I asked them to do the bathroom twice, because the first time she just glanced at it. She didn't mop the floors, and I told her to mop it. The main thing I wanted them to do was the kitchen and the bath, and they didn't do a good job of that. They want to get customers to use their service again, they really need to do better with customer service, and communication. The price was good. $99 for four hours is a good price.

Two women showed up and began cleaning room by room, there duties were to clean a 3bd 2bth home in 2hrs, although they weren't able to finish everything in 2hrs; the rooms and bathrooms that they did do were cleaned very well.

This was my first experience with Sweeping Hands and it was very good. The owner was very friendly, professional, and accommodating when I had to reschedule. My only complaint was that the ladies did not put a few (minor) things back in place. When I informed the owner of my complaints, she thanked me for the feedback, and assured me that she had spoken to the ladies about it. Other than that, the ladies did a very good job, and the cleanliness of my home after the service was excellent. My wood floors and wood stairs were shining, my laundry and kitchen appliances were sparkling, and my window blinds had no trace of dust. When I arrived home and opened my front door, I immediately smelled a freshness in the air. My home looks great. I plan to use Sweeping Hands again, and would highly recommend them to others without hesitation.

The "deal" was for 4 -man hours of "deep cleaning". The two women (Rosa and Jenny) arrived at 12:30 instead of 2:30. They were very pleasant but spoke almost no English. I showed them the two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms hallway living/dining area and kitchen. This was about 1300 square feet of wood or tile (bathroom) floors. Because I have pets (possible fleas) told them I wanted everything vacumed and repeated Vacum several times pointing at the floor. They nodded. They started in the bed/bathrooms. After about an hour I hadn't heard the vacum and repeated that I wanted vacuming. One plugged in a Bissell vacum and ran it for a few minutes in the living room then got out a broom and began sweeping. Then instead of vacuming again, she got out a broom without any bristles and put wet rags on the end, then mopped over everything she had swept. By that time she indicated that the two hours was over. I asked how much longer they needed and she called her manager. I told the manager that they were very slow and they had only finished two bedrooms two bathrooms and a hallway and part of the kitchen. The manager said she would give me an extra 30 minutes at no charge. I told the worker again to vacum and instead she went over the living room again with the "mop" and never cleaned the dining room. She used clear water to "mop" the floor, instead of wood floor cleaner which i had in my cleaning supplies. In half an hour she told me time was up but said "sorry" she didn't have time to clean the dining room part of the living room area. After they left I found disgusting clumps of pet hair and dust matted together by the water and flung by the rag on the mop to the edges of the room and under the edges of the furniture. Five days later I'm still finding those fur-mud clumps and the flea eggs they didn't vacum up, hatched with all the extra water from their "mop" so I have a bumper crop of fleas in the areas the pets hang out the most. I'm not impressed with a cleaning company that doesn't teach it's workers how to clean. There is no definition of "clean" or of "deep cleaning" in my book that doesn't include thorough vacuming instead of sweeping only visible dust and hair up. I've run into this with multiple cleaning services. Vacuming is the foundation of getting rid of dust and fur instead of moving it around to different places. A vacum of floor and surfaces prepares it for dusting and mopping. Once you get the vacum out it's much faster than sweeping and dusting to say nothing of much more thorough. Vacuming removes the dust, fur, dirt, fleas, mites, bugs and all the other particles that make up "dust bunnies". A cleaning service that doesn't know this is not worth using.

They crew sis an excellent job on this deep cleaning of a rental house. Definitely recommend this service!

Maids worked hard to get the bathrooms clean. Property is a rental and the former tenants were slobs. They did their best and bathrooms looked a lot better

After purchase of service, I was scheduled right away. Two nice ladies came and did a very good job cleaning my refrigerator, stove/oven, dishes, etc. My kitchen was spotless when they were done. The only issue I had was they were about two hours late and I never got a courtesy call to let me know they were running late. Luckily, I had the day off so it still worked out. Other than that, they did a wonderful job and would recommend.

I have used them before. They do a good job for the price. Always very nice looking when I come back. In this case I left them a disaster. I left the tip in advance because it was so bad. The house was shown the afternoon after they came. They did an amazing job. The owner is very agreeable and helpful. I will use them again

They emailed me hours before my appointment to let me know that they would arrive late. I appreciate them letting me know this in advance. When the ladies arrived to clean my home, they were very pleasant and firendly and they did a fantastic job of cleaning my home. I would use them again without hesitation.

I bought four hours of cleaning and it was performed by two cleaners. When I scheduled it, I made it clear that I could not be home to let them in until 1 pm. They arrived at 12:30 and called me. I told them I would be there at 1:00 as previously discussed when the appointment was scheduled. Upon arrival, they had all their cleaning supplies and brought them in my house. When they saw my vacuum, they asked to use it which was fine with me. However, when they left, the canister was packed full of dirt and debris so it's clear it was never emptied during their vacuuming. When I vacuum my house, I have to empty it 3-4 times. Needless to say, the vacuuming job was not done well and I did not appreciate them leaving my vacuum full of dirt (it was empty when I left it for them). Additionally, the master bath shower was not cleaned well at all. It looks like all that was done was a wiping of the floor. There was still soap scum and the pinkish mildew in the grout on the walls, the bench in the shower, and all the corners. I expected the entire shower to be cleaned, not just the floor. I was not able to stay during their cleaning and I asked them to call me when they were close to being done. By the time they started cleaning it was about 1:20 and they called me at 3:23 saying they had about 15 minutes left of work. So that means they cleaned for 3 hours and 15 minutes. I paid for 4 hours and they did not clean for that amount of time. If they had actually finished cleaning in less than 4 hours, that's one thing but to finish 45 minutes early and not do a good job on two major areas, I would not use them again.

They were incredible. They did a deep cleaning on my kitchen.

For the first few months, I was very pleased with the quality of the service. They were very thorough and reliable. However, about three months ago, the quality seemed to decline. One time, they missed an entire bathroom. Another time, we came home and could hardly tell they had cleaned the house that day. Yet another time, they left wet sheets in the washer and because we were out of town, the sheets remained in the washer for over a week. They also frequently set off the security system, despite having their own access code. And several times when we returned home, the alarm was not set. Again, one of these times, we were out of town, so the house was vacant without alarm protection for over a week. We shared our concerns with the manager and she said she would come to the house with her employees last week. The employees arrived more than an hour late and without their manager. When we asked her about the lateness, the manager was not aware that we had received a text message confirming a specific time. She did not apologize for not coming with them. We have decided to use a different cleaning service in the future.

The house is usually rented to Tulane's and Layola's students. Every year I have the house professionally cleaned before the new tenants move in. Last year I had a disastrous experience with the cleaning crew that was recommended by a contractor. They charged me $400 and it was hard to see where they cleaned!! This year I called Sweeping Hands based on Angie's reviews and was not disappointed. I called them about 3 weeks before the job needed to be done and they promptly got back to me and agreed to do the work on they day I requested. The price they quoted me was very fair even though I thought that given the conditions of the house it might cost me more that they estimated. They showed up on time and 3 cleaning ladies started their job with much attention to details. The house was very dirty (students!); they tackled the kitchen and cleaned all the cabinets inside and out, the stove and the oven, the inside of the refrigerator, the dryer and washing machine, the sink and the dishwasher! They cleaned all the windows, blinds, moulding, ceiling fans , baseboards and floors in all the rooms. They cleaned and disinfected the bathrooms. Now the house must be the cleanest student rental in New Orleans!! What I appreciated more was that they charged me according to the estimate they had given me when I booked the service, even though since the house was so dirty, it required much more time than originally estimated! I can't thank them enough for the good job they have done! I was very pleased and I highly recommend them!

I made a rather last minute request and was accommodated. Two ladies came, I went to a neighbor's to visit, and came back to a sparkling, clean home. Picture dirt, dust, seeking ninjas. That's what these ladies do So many cleaning services do the obvious, but miss the subtle areas where dirt lurks. This is the fourth or fifth time I've hired this service and I've never been disappointed. I so wish I could afford to have them every week. I've purchased several Angie's List cleaning coupons, but this group blows them all out of the water.

As always, it was a fantastic experience. I was pleasantly surprised to meet the owner, Lashanda, on the day of service. She is such a nice and pleasant person. We talked about her company and how she started it. She then showed me her hands, which were frankly a mess because she had been training her employees on how to clean. She actually does the training herself. I love that type of hands on approach. This is the third time I've used Sweeping Hands and now I know why I keep returning to them. Anyway, I requested service at two locations. My home, which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, great room and kitchen, was cleaned extremely well. Everything from the floor to the ceiling fans is practically sparkling. The two ladies even washed dirty breakfast dishes by hand. I am always pleased with the service so I also requested service at my mother's home. She had her kitchen, one bath, an office and her den cleaned. She is sooooo happy with the service. The two ladies that cleaned for my mom even cleaned her refrigerator. I just love Lashanda and the wonderful ladies of Sweeping Hands. I highly recommend them. As long as the service remains the way it is, they have a customer for life.

I could not have asked for a better move out cleaning. There was nothing left for me to do but turn in the keys.

Two women were sent and arrived at the scheduled time. They provided their own cleaning supplies. They cleaned most everything to satisfaction while working around one room being renovated. I was very pleased with the service. This was the second time I hired Sweeping Hands. The only difference between the two times was that the first two ladies cleaned the refrigerator and the second time that wasn't done. Overall, however, I will definitely use them again.
