He kept saying that it goes by your zip code but he never asked my zip code. Either pay for the repair or get the warranty, I said "You don't even have my zip code", he said "It's either you take the service or you don't" and I said "I don't". I didn't like the way they responded.

The gentleman showed up promptly after calling and letting us know he was on his way. He got there, helped us take care of the problem, ordered an extra part for us and collected the invoice and left promptly. He was very clean and neat, answered any questions we had, left the space as he found it. Great experience. Would use again.

Still waiting. I will never do any business with Sears in the future.
Description of Work: I have a AC/Heat window unit purchased in '03 with a maintenance/protection agreement. It usually takes 10 days to get a technician to visit, another 3- 7 days to receive any parts that are needed for the repair. Another 10 days for the technician to comeback after the parts had been received to install the parts. 50% of the time the technician made the wrong diagnosis and the process starts all over.

It didn't exactly go well. It is as if the guy that came out didn't know what he was doing. He didn't diagnose it well. He didn't check anything else. He only changed the ice maker but ignored the control board which was the real problem. I ended up buying and changing it myself. The only thing that went well was that they were responsive enough to come out. I would not use them again

It was ok. The guy took care of the problem, but he told me I would have to leave it off for 24 hours to be completely done. They were able to troubleshoot the problem and correct it for the most part.

They have been very well. We had to order the door and it was the more expensive and it seemed the labor was like a $100 and the door was 400. So the labor was a fair price. They rescheduled it twice. It was done quickly and the man cleaned up and took all the trash which is important to me. He behaved in a professional manner, he was clean, he didn’t smell bad and he looked like a normal everyday person.

That was the package they advertised and so I thought it might be a good idea to have them come out and just make sure I didn't have any leaky hoses or anything like that. I wasn't crazy about it. I was quoted a price over the phone. However, when the installer came out, he said, "Well, that's not the right price. You're going to have to accept some other price and then you can go back to Sears with it." I was in the middle and it was like, "Okay, let's just go ahead, get it done." So I said, "Alright, go ahead and put it in and then I'll get with Sears." When I called them back, they said, "No, you're right, you were quoted this correct price. We'll give you a credit." I said, "Okay," but then, the credit never came. Then I called again and they said, "We're really sorry." They kept transferring me around and finally they said, "I'm really sorry, but whoever quoted you that price, that wasn't the right place. So, we're going to have to charge the price the installer charged," and I said, "Well, they quoted me," and she said, "I know, I see it right in your files, but they were wrong." Finally, when I got really upset, she said, "Well, we'll give you a store credit," like I was ever going to shop at Sears again. So the price that I was quoted, I accepted, the price that they said was truly correct, I would never have paid. What he did was okay. But, immediately he said, "Well, I can't do this and that." I said, "Well, I want to make sure that I don't have leaky hoses because that's my biggest concern. I'm in a condo and if I have a leaky hose, it could cost me a lot of money." That's one of the things they advertised, "Get this done because it could be so much more expensive if you get a leaky hose and you don't know." He said, "Yeah, well I can't go around pulling your stuff out. I'm not going to do that. I'll try to peek and take a look. But I can't really do much more than that." So he was already backing way way off the service that they had advertised. He did a perfectly nice job with my dishwasher and he did sort of peek in there and say, "Yeah, I guess the hoses look okay from here." So I was not really impressed. I would never ever ever use them again. Then there was a lot of time spent trying to sell me a five year contract and he got some guy on the phone. So it was like for only 500 and so much dollars, I would be saved from leaky hoses. The guy came out when they said he would, he kept the appointment. On the other hand, it was one of these, "Well, I can't use your credit card because my WiFi is out. The only WiFi I can use is from my truck and it's not working." So I had to give him a check. It was the most unprofessional thing I've ever run into. It was just a joke. I've had a lot of vendors come into my house, I've never had anything that was quite so mediocre. He was a nice guy. I would never have hired him, but he did a decent job of cleaning my dishwasher. He wasn't given a whole lot of tools to work with.

It was fine. Well, I say it was fine, but nothing was fixed, so I don't know. He couldn't find whatever it was that was giving us problems. Whatever was the matter with it did not do it while he was there so he could not diagnose it, or whatever. I would not give them a bad grade, their grade would just be average.

The service repair person didn't do anything to my fridge except to use a blow torch in the back of my fridge. He never inspected the compressor. My son paid him $55 to do nothing. I will never buy Kenmore appliances. I can see why this service was given an F. If you buy Sears warranty, you will get your appliances repaired, but if you don't buy their warranty, you will not get service. I have to wait until Tuesday for a repair person after Labor Day. So I had to wait the long weekend without a working f`ridge!
Description of Work: I have American Residential Warranty. I called them because my refrigerator stop cooling. The warranty company called Sears to set up an appointment. The Sears repairman came between 8 and 12. He came to my home took the panel out and put it back. I asked him did he find the problem. He could not give me a definitive answer. He pulled out the fridge and took the panel out, and when I looked, he took out a blow torch and used it on a valve to put Freon in it. He told me that it needed Freon. He also told me that it will take 24 hours to cool. He came out on the 27th in the morning, and my fridge never cooled. I called the warranty company to complain about Sears. They lied to me stating that a repair person would be out on Friday( a Labor Day holiday weekend) between the hours of 1 and 5. No one showed up. I called Sears after calling the warranty company, she checked and told me that the repairman was booked and would not be able to come out. I was lied to by both Sears and the American Warranty Rep.

They've been giving me problems like I have the extended warranty for the service plan. I've been paying on it and it's like... what time will I get somebody to come and look at the dishwasher. They also keep on ordering parts and then in the end it doesn't work. If I didn't have the service plan, I would have gone ahead and bought a new one. Since it is under that plan they're supposed to replace it when they can't fixed it. But instead they keep sending the technician, he comes and he leaves and I still have the same problem. He won't stay until the cycle runs because it takes time and he's like "No Mam I can't do that." And after the cycle has run in the end it's the same problem. Another technician is coming tomorrow and you'll never know what the end result will be. But it's frustrating when you have the same problem over and over and had cost some money to do the parts. He showed me a receipt that was $1200 for parts and labor I guess and after that there was more for it and more labor. It doesn't stop and the problem is still there. So what good is it to have their service plan if they don't stand behind it. They don't charge me it's just what will cost me if I will be doing it on my own. It's just throwing more and more money and it's not working. When I got the plan, they stand behind what they say but they're suppose to stand behind what they say. But what they promise and what they do are two different things.

a new one in. Total time in our house was maybe an hour. The part cost $75.00 and rest rest was labor. So basically their rates work out to over $200.00/hour. I think that is outrageous for such a simple thing to be done.
Description of Work: When the electricity came back on after Hurricane Isaac, the refrigerator came on but would not cool. I called Sears on Tuesday and they were scheduled out on Thursday between 8 and 12. My husband took a 1/2 day off work to wait for the repair. They called and said they were running behind, I give them credit for that. Within a couple of minutes of plugging the refrigerator in, the problem was diagnosed as a relay switch. It was a matter of taking 4 screws off the back of the refrigerator, unplugging the relay switch and plugging

My refrigerator stopped cooling on the Friday before Mardi Gras, after everyone had arrived for the weekend with icechests of food and drink. I was able to contact the Sears team on a weekend, and schedule repairs for the Monday before Mardi Gras (and I live 23 blocks from St. Charles Avenue). The Repairman arrived on time with the parts needed to complete the job, and did so in a short time. Very professional!
Description of Work: Replaced a part in refrigerator. Above and beyond that, I was notified of a service plan that would cover this repair and any future repairs. A great money saver!

They came the day after I called, and came right on time. They fixed it at my home, which made it easy. It was great! It works fine. The service tech was wonderful--he was very knowledgeable and happily answered all of my questions. He even mowed half of my lawn to make sure it worked correctly.

Over all it was a good experience. Price wise the recoil should have been covered with the service charge but it was not.
