Basic Chimney Sweep

Great. They were a bit more expensive than other quotes I received, but they were available on short notice. They arrived right on time and did the work efficiently and cleanly. Inspecting my chimney in the attic found no problems, but the tech noticed another leak by a plumbing vent that was coming from the roof! That was a new roof, so I was able to call the roofers and get it fixed before my bedroom ceiling was damaged. Very grateful for the sharp eyes in the attic!!

Installed new damper without any issues (works great!). Cleaned and inspected fireplace and chimney. Also, checked dryer vent. Very knowledgeable and performed great work. Definitely would hire again.

It did not go, as he never returned a message or call.

We had a cracked back panel on our fireplace. Mr. Ronald came out, on time, took the measurements and said he would call in about one week once he had the panel ready. He called and worked with me on a good time to come install it. He even talked to me about other projects we had going on and was very helpful. Nice, honest, dependable!

His office called us the day before service to remind us about the appointment time. I appreciated the call. He showed up promptly at 8 am. The fireplace had a gas firelog setup and I wanted to change to a wood burning fireplace. He removed the gas firelog setup. After cleaning the interior of the fireplace, he inspected the outside of the chimney. He explained some small projects on the fireplace that I could do, such as mortar some of the firebox and clean and seal the chimney. He explained that the firebox is in good condition and advised me what to look for that would indicate the firebox needs to be replaced. He did a GREAT job!!!

The service was scheduled in a timely manner. The technician called to check if he could come came earlier than the scheduled time (due to a service call cancellation). He welcomed me to observe his performance of the tasks. He was very professional and friendly and we had a nice conversation while he was working. I would certainly use the same provider on any future repairs or service on my chimney.

I had a problem with a leaking chimney. I had several contractors attempt to fix the problem without success. Basic Chimney Sweep is anything but basic. He identified and fixed the leak. It took him a while to get to the work, but that is because he is in demand--He knows what he is doing. Turn to Basic Chimney Sweep first. I have since purchased another home and plan to contact him for some wok on my new (but old) chimneys.

It was a GREAT experience - he did a great job - I think my house was cleaner after he left than before he arrived!

Chimney was cleaned in October. Vacuums, exhaust, and tarps were installed to capture soot. Very good work. I was pleased with professionalism. An entire system inspection was made. The internal firebox was missing mortar due to water damage. The cost estimate was $3,000 which was about $1,2000 lesss than second estimate. The repairs could not be made immediately. The work was scheduled about 2-months in advance. The reapirs took four-8 hour days. I have no complaints or criticism of the 4-day work. We had a small problem with the dampner affter work completion. This was promptly fixed after a single phone call. All work was professional, courtsious, prompt. My highest recommendations.

The cleaning went very smooth with great results. He had all the equipment needed and took precautions preventing any mess in the house. He explained different ways for me to prevent smoke from flowing into the house, a problem I have been struggling with. I also had complained that I had to replace my burner nearly every year. He sold me a robust cast iron burner that has now lasted three seasons and still performs like it was new!

We were very impressed with his work. Gave us an honest report and told us what we needed to do to get the chimney working, again. It needs structural work.

Ronald was great! He came quickly and took care of the birds (without a nest) that were in the chimney as well as educated me on a few chimney-related safety topics...something a previous provider (not on Angie's List) had not done. I was more than impressed with Ronald and the assistance he gave us.

It went very well. The guy was very thorough and knowledgeable. I think he was extremely honest and thorough and I think he gave me a very good advice for the care of the entire fireplace and chimney. He did a good job. They were pretty much all priced the same.

My new house and furniture had soot all over from the fireplace. It was originally a wood burning fireplace and had been converted to a gas burning fireplace with ceramic logs. After cleaning the fireplace the sweep showed me that the soot was not going up the chimney but into the house because the pipes with the holes were set too far to the front of the opening. He scheduled a visit later in the week and returned with flexible hoses and moved things around so that all of the fire could move to the back of the opening. The key was put on the left (the old one was on the right). This new key is much better and does not get hot like the old one did. He was a very good worker and very neat. He is the one who told me about Angie's list. Now I have to locate someone to clean the soot off of everything!

Ron was a true professional. He not only cleaned my fireplace but he also went into my attic to to make sure there were no problems. I was called the day before to let me know the persons name who would be coming and what he was driving to assure my safety. I would highly recommend.

Mr. Ronald was able to make it to my house the day after I called him, and he worked very quickly. I wanted to make sure that my fireplace was safe to use before winter, so he cleaned all of the buildup out of the chimney. He covered my floors to prevent mess and swept up after himself.

He did a great job! He's quick, and he did the job that he said he was going to do. He came out and cleaned it first. Then, he put filling on it. I have not had any problems with him.

Said there were a few issues with the firebox/chimney, but didn't press or try to hard sell me into getting it repaired. Seemed honest and was friendly.

We used them last week. They service an area that most people do not service. They drove a distance to service my chimney. They were great. They did the job well and the price was reasonable. I would give them top marks for everything. I will use them again.
