HINTON A/C SERVICES

I called them and asked for a quote for a replacement job. We need a new condensing unit and coil. The lady on the phone wanted to schedule a visit. and charge us about $100 for it. I asked her about part prices to have a general idea. She said she couldn't give me any price without coming to us and charging us. I said, you know the part prices, I want to have a general idea. She refused. I asked to talk to her boss and she hang up on me. I called again and this time she was extremely rude, she interrupted me all the time to say the same thing over and over and hang up on me again. I have never ever seen such rudeness and arrogance. I wouldn't do business with this company.

From start to finish, the experience was a very positive one. Lennie was very attentive throughout the process. I highly recommend Hinton A/C for either the ductless mini-split system or the regular duct HVAC.

I have been with them 25 years. They are very professional and the work is great.

Lenny found that the Air conditioner compressor fan motor had died. He was able to get a replacement before the Carrier warehouse closed. Lenny went out of his way to pick up the fan motor Monday evening so it could be installed Tuesday morning. Blake came out Tuesday morning and replaced the fan motor. Our air conditioning system is up and running again. Thank you Hinton A/C Service!!!! Hinton A/C Services has earned a customer respect. I will use them for all of my heating and A/C service needs.

Lenny came by on a Friday afternoon within an hour of our call and had the A/C working again in a few hours. Our family has been using him for years and he is always honest and fair.

They arrived on schedule. They inspected the non-operating unit both inside and out. There was little doubt that it was on its last legs, but they explored all possibilities before giving me the bad news. Everything was repaired and up and running in record time. Lenny and his crew have taken care of my 3 a/c/heating units for more than 15 years, with promptness, honesty, good work ethics and even kindness. All of the components of all 3 systems have been replaced at one time or another, some of them twice as they were old when I bought the house 20+ years ago. Neither rickety pull-down stairs nor the necessity to balance on joists and be startled by bold, large rodents can deter them from their task. [grin] Thanks, y'all, for your services.

I requested an estimate from Hinton AC. They scheduled an appointment for a certain day. I was working on some home projects waiting around for them to come. When the time had lapsed I put in a call to their main dispatch office. The secretary informed me that the estimates man had tried to call me to double verify that I would be available and since I missed the call, he would not be showing up that day. In their defense, I did miss the call. I missed the call because I was working in another part of the home and didn't hear the phone ring. Lesson learned. It took a couple more weeks for his schedule to open up and finally we were able to meet up for an estimate. The estimate lasted about a half an hour and the estimator seemed proficient. He stressed that the company had been around since the 60's. The problem came at the end of our transaction. It took about three weeks for the estimator to make first contact back, after I had called the main office. We played phone tag for about a month before I got the actual estimate. The number that he called me from was never the number I could call back. I would push redial on my phone and get a fax machine. Then I would call the main office and he would never be in. After about four rounds of phone tag, I finally requested that the estimator just leave the estimate on my voicemail. Appearantly, they won't do this. You have to speak directly with the estimator. Kind of an antiquated business model for the year 2011. I did finally manage to be able to take his call and finally got the estimate. Overall, I found it to be a very "New Orleans" transaction, meaning, very little emphasis on giving the customer what they want instead of "the way things have been done before." The length of time it took for the actual estimate to come back and the phone tag game, left me feeling very shaky about how an actual job would go. I came to the conclusion that Hinton AC would not be the company I would go with for my massive AC reno.

All wnet well with no problems. Mike had the part on his truck, switched it out, and that was it.

He is great guy. I never had to wait for an appointment and he knows what he is doing.

What I really like about them is that they have a preventive maintenance agreement. When I call with a problem, they come immediately and they are responsive, and you also get a 15% discount. They do a very good job and they are very conscientious about their work.
