KELLY'S CUSTOM FLOORS

The installer (Mr. Kelly's brother) was several hours late getting to my house to put in the tile. He was obviously in a hurry to finish so that he would be back to store by closing time to get his money. He even charged me an extra $20 to cut off the door going into bathroom, which should have been figured into the price. He did a lousy job of installing the tile and left sme corners sticking up above other tile. Then he pulled grout from between tiles and they make it hard to clean the floor. Dirt or dirty mop water wants to stay in the grooves, I have had several tile floors in the past and they have never looked like this one. Mr. Kelly doesn't seem to care if I am a happy customer or not. I would definitely never use them again. le

I had ceramic tile floor already and it was more than one color paint so I had them put a plain white thirteen inch square ceramic tile floor over it. It looks a lot better but there are couple of tiles that aren't flat and that is because of my floor. It now looks wavy but it didn't look wavy down there before. He said he will have somebody come back to fix it and that he was going to order some more tiles but I haven't heard from him yet. When I first moved in I had them put new mica on my kitchen cabinets, the same guys who did the floor, did the cabinets and they did a wonderful job. I'm not happy with the tiles and I feel he was in a hurry that day. He was just careless about putting down the sticky stuff and I think he didn't get it leveled out. He made a grove there and didn't leave it smooth all the way across so it's hard to clean. I'm in a 53 year old house and they think it's an old house, may be it looks like crape to them. I was trying my best to make it look better. I think the price was fair on the floor but they did a terrible job. I got a little aggravated with them because he had to cut my bathroom door off and he charged me $10 extra which I thought they should have known if it had to be cut off and added that in the price. They did not come in on time, they were very late. Before they could do the job, every tile was flat so I think he's just trying to cover his fault saying it was the floor.

At the start of building a house my wife went to Kelly's several times to look at ceramic tile. She always spoke highly of him. We shopped around several places and had several bids. We decided to go with Kelly not because he had the best price but because he seemed like a good honest guy. Boy were we wrong. The work seemed to be going okay until it came time to install the seat in my shower. The installer claimed to not know anything about it so I called Kelly and he also claimed to know nothing about it. I had a copy of the ticket from the deposit which showed labor for a shower pan and seat. I told him as much and then he played dumb and acted like he had over looked it. About an hour later one of his installers showed up with a some prices in which Kelly wanted $1300 more than what we had originally agreed upon. I was furious. I called Kelly and we argued over the seat and tub surround in which he blaimed my wife for not being clear about what she wanted. The real problem was that he had not ordered enough tile to finish the job. He then tried to charge me $70 per tile for the extra it took to go around the tub. Aftering waiting several days for the tile to come in he then sent a new bill with his installers in which he had altered the original ticket trying to charge me for sales tax on the whole bill instead of just the material. I had the carbon copy of the ticket and was able to tell where he had altered it. I aM writing this to try to keep people from making the same mistake I did, DO NOT HIRE KELLYS CUSTOM FLOORS TO DO YOUR WORK
