Had to order a new ice maker for our 3 year old side by side. They came on the 28th of July and said it would take 2 - 3 days to get part. I did not hear anything from them so on Friday, Aug 1, I called and was told the part had not come in but should be there that afternoon or Sat. Called me at 8 am this morning and said they were on their way with the part. Icemaker is putting out ice now.

S & L came out on schedule and checked the oven. The serviceman verified our warranty on the controller and explained if an igniter were bad, that would not be covered. He left & ordered the parts. When the parts came in, about three weeks later, S & L came out and performed the work. The technician was friendly, professional and sympathetic with the problems of having a high-tech stove. I asked a couple of questions about the stove and the repair person pointed me to the owner's manual for answers. That is okay because my questions were "operating" questions and I can understand his position. Billing was reasonable considering the range failed in service. There was no charge for the controller and only $26 for the igniter. Labor & trip charges totaled $85. With tax, the total was right at $120. Having had a bad experience with Sears Applicance Repair, I am glad we called S & L.
Description of Work: Repairs to Jen-Air Range model JGR8890ADP. This is the high end gas range with an upper slim oven (for trays, pizza, cookies, and the like) and a lower large convection oven for cooking large dishes, turkeys, etc. It has electric starters and a computer control panel at the top. The computer control panel (Part no. W10172705) went faulty and the top oven "igniter" (Part no. 7432P143-60) went bad. The controller was replaced first but the oven did not light. The igniter was then replaced and the stove began operating normally.
