MIKE HARTFORD ROOFING

Mike Hartford stated he was licensed and insured. The workers drank beer both days they worked. When I brought this to the attention of Mr. Hartford, his reply was that was the only way he could get them to work! One of the workers craved his initials in a 15 years old Crepe Myrtle tree. I brought this to Mike's attention and his reply was "What do you want me to do about it?" The first rain there was leaking around my chimney. Mikes fix was LATEX chalking. Another rain I called again and he came and did the same FIX job as last time. This is an ongoing thing. Last time he came he leaned his ladder against my GUTTERS to get on the roof. Yep, they are now bent. He has now stated I need to find someone else to fix the problem. Now I have rotten wood flooring and water under my ceramic tile and he refuses to fix the problem. I am hiring an new roofer, to the tune of $1000.00 to fix the issue and will have to have flooring repaired in the amount of about $5,000.00. Thanks Mike...

The first day of the roofing job a bad storm came up. Workers left the job and did not tarp the unfinished areas of the roof. This resulted in major leaks in the ceiling of five rooms. Now have ceiling damage with needs of repair and re-painting. Morning after the storm I found a case and a half of empty beer cans in their dumpster. It appeared they had been drinking on top of my roof. Drip edge and felting was not installed correctly and my freshly painted faucets have been stained due to rain seeping behind the drip edge. Potentially, this problem will lead to my eaves rotting out. Roofer, Mike Hartford, will not return phone calls and will not show up at scheduled meeting times. He states he will send out a crew to fix the problem but they continuously don't show. According to the LA State licensing board, Hartford is not licensed, although he stated to me when he drove me around looking at roofs that he was, and his card states he is fully insured.
