The radio in my 2008 Expedition was beginning to fail and I also wanted to upgrade to Apple Play and hands free phone. I explained to the salesman that I would need SiriusXM (as I already had that in the existing radio). I also said that I wanted the existing controls on the steering wheel to continue to work. I also asked that hook the backup camera into the unit but keep the existing backup cam in the mirror operating. While I was expecting a to spend much more, the salesman talked me down to a very acceptable pioneer DHM-W2770NEX unit $459.99. I asked about the install price and was told $150.00. I agreed and thought this was very reasonable. I dropped the vehicle off for the install on Saturday 7/1/2023. I was called and told it was ready. When receiving my bill there was the quoted radio price and installation charge, but there were also charges for adapters, steering wheel integrators, antenna adapters, Flush mount USB, and misc parts. $155.00. There was also a custom installation charge 170.00. None of this was discussed in the discussion that I had with the salesman. Another thing of interest is that under Louisiana tax law, labor is excluded from taxes. I was charged taxes on their labor. This will be interesting to report to the tax board. I hope they are paying these questionable sales taxes to the state. When I got into the vehicle I noticed that the backup camera was not connected to the Pioneer unit. I left the vehicle with them. They called later and said that it had been corrected. I Picked up the vehicle and this had been corrected. I took the vehicle home and began to setup the radio with the settings and presets that I like. Got everything setup and went to active Sirius. The Sirius button was greyed out. After some internet searching, I was pretty sure they forgot to install the Sirius tuner. Mike's Audio was closed on Sunday. Took the vehicle back to Mike's Audio on 7/3/2023. Talked to my salesman. He apologized and said that "He should have checked to see that everything that we talked about was done". I said I understand and I agreed to pay for the tuner and stated that there should not be any additional installation or labor charges. He agreed. Told me it would take about 30 minutes. I waited. Vehicle was brought to me. On my bill the Tuner was listed for $95. Interesting that the MSRP on this is $70 according to the Pioneer website. There was also a $45 installation fee. I asked the salesman about the installation charge. His answer was he had to charge this as this is normally covered in the installation. I agreed with him that it should have been but they forgot to install it and this was not my issue but theirs. I got nowhere with this. About 25 years ago I had Mikes audio install and alarm system in my truck. It was a wonderful experience. This was a poor experience and I believe that I was either mislead or just out right lied to. I believe that this will be my last experience with Mike's Audio. I am truly disappointed and will not be recommending them to anyone and will try to steer all business to someone that is more reputable Bob K.

We went to the company for information and an estimate. We considered both acceptable. The service person stated that it would only take 2 hours to have it done that same day while we waited. We agreed to wait, and we were provided a comfortable media room with large comfortable chairs to watch programs on a large TV screen. The wait time was actually less than 2 hours which we appreciated. The job was well done, with courtesy and professionalism. The quality of the back up system and its operation are excellent.

They refuse to service what they sell, in a nutshell Phone system have notrepaired system failed, no response. Security system failed , no response. Television (high end) failed, no response. Control4 company apparently withdrew them as certified installers. Owner actually hid from me when I came to business. I paid all bills immediately and offered to double pay for service. Caveat Empertor
Description of Work: Initially very response with slow but appropriate service but after audio/video/home security equipment started failing, Mike Rusk would not respond to multiple phone, email and physical requests at their business. Very UNPROFESSIONAL ownership. They are ok at installing audio in kids' cars but can no longer recommend them for home or business projects. There are far better companies doing higher quality work in Baton Rouge.
