Description of Work: No actual work was done apparently the plumber was sick (I understand) but I took a day off from work no one called and informed me. I called twice and It wasn’t until the second call that someone admitted to error. Like I stated before, someone becoming sick is unfortunate and understandable but not informing the customer is rude , unprofessional and unacceptable

After we had chosen this service provider on the basis of his high rating with Angie's List, he agreed to come early the next morning and actually arrived half an hour before the promised time. Cost was right on the estimated price; professionalism and service were to a high standard.
Description of Work: Plumber determined and cleared the cause of a failure to flush/backup in our toilet. He used a long, heavy-duty snake apparatus to clear the blockage, which he found to be paper towels flushed down the toilet (probably by our teenage son). In order to do so he was forced to remove the toilet itself so that his apparatus could get direct access to the pipes. He did remove it and then replaced it, installing new hardware to replace the old bolts, gaskets etc. The whole job took about one hour.

Description of Work: I had a problem that about five plumbers had looked at and no one had a good idea for a fix. My house is old and I had water in a drain backing up all over my floor. The wood floors were warping. Louis mechanical fixed it by rerouting the under counter ice maker, putting in another drain and putting in a clean out. It worked.

I even had a $20 off coupon from Angie's list that I used. To me, it was pricey ($200 for an hour of easy work), but i guess that's normal for plumbers. I dont mind paying for good service, though, and I'll call them again.

He gave me several tips on the ice maker and garbage disposal. I have used them in the past for both residential and commercial use and completely trust them to do only what is needed and charge appropriately. Good people!

He repaired a bathtub drain by replacing the old one. He was very professional and I believe one of the fastest plumbers that I have ever used. He did not waste time and finished the job in record time. I highly recommend them.

+ -1 moreWe had a clogged drum trap under our bathtub that drained painfully slow. We were told that due to the difficulty in clearing these traps, that replacement was out best option. We selected Louis Mechanical because of their many positive reviews on this site. Butch showed up right on time (five minutes early, actually). He was super friendly and thorough and worked very quickly. We could not have been happier with the results. The tub drains perfectly and overall we have been completely satisfied with the work. The $20 coupon was a very nice touch and overall the cost came in under the initial quote.
Description of Work: Removed old drum trap from tub drain. Replaced with p-trap.

The plumber came when expected and the work was completed professionally and in a timely manner. Because of her health and the cold weather, my mother preferred not to venture outside, so the plumber kindly kept her informed of his progress via his cell phone. Our only complaint has been that she has not yet received a bill for this service, so we don't know how much it cost. Otherwise, we are very pleased with this company.

+ 0 moreIt went well. I'm happy. While that water heater was draining twice of its sand, I was able to use Butch to do toilet repairs. His suggestions about pouring bleach down a smelly drain and confirming that I had an existing gas connection behind my electric range ready for a new gas range was helpful. And since I now know I probably shortened the life of my 9 year old gas water heater by delaying this draining thing of sediment, I asked Butch about these new "tankless" water heaters that save energy. He was knowledgeable about them and filled me in on it---I had been checking them out online just in case I needed a new water heater. Butch was great, the $20-off coupon from Angie's List and their great rating here really helped me zero in on a competent plumber. LOL, That $20 off coupon doubles what I paid for Angies List.
Description of Work: My 9 year old gas water heater began making "bumping" sounds about a year ago when it heated the water. I let it go for a year but the noises got louder and louder. Googled some plumbing information and found out I should drain my water heater of sediment. I tried to do it, but the drain itself was plugged with sediment, so I looked on Angies list and saw this plumber with all A ratings, and they had a $20 off coupon. What luck! Turns out, the water heater had lots of sand in it, and Butch from this place drained, filled and flushed it twice, and I could see the sand come out of the drain hose ( he hooked up and left me with a larger drain valve on the water heater for future draining and drain clog problems). As it happens, I probably waited too long (oneyear of bumping noises) to drain that water heater and probably did some damage to it, but Butch explained how a water heater works and some glass innards that were probably damaged by overheating with all that sand in the bottom of the heater. Live and learn. While the water heater was draining (twice), I got Butch to fix a toilet (you had to stand there with your thumb on the lever for a minute to make it flush completely, it needed all new innards), he confirmed I had a gas connection for my planned new gas range, and when I asked him to smell my vapors from sink (I thought it might be sewar gas from a deteriorated pipe, I've had them before in this 50 year old house), he suggested that I first pour bleach down the drain and see if that cures the problem. They can always come back and examine it, but probably best to wait for summer when things heat up and gas expands to confirm a problem. All of my parts were $49.90, it took 1.5 hours, total was $192.00, but Angies list had a $20 off coupon that I used, bringing it down to $172.

+ -1 moreI called the office and was promptly and courteously received. The person I was speaking with referred it up to an experienced plumber to make sure of the scop of the work. The senior person contacted me in a timely fashion discussed the job with me til we were both comfortable that we had the scope and conditions properly set. I was informed he would discuss with the estimator and they would contact me shortly with an estimate. After waiting a week, I think I finally decided I wasn't getting a call back. If they can't even get back to me with an estimage, I can't trust them with the work. I probably could have taken some time/energy and gotten this back on track. But 1.) There are lots of plumbers so why should I fight to get them to work for me 2.) if they are this careless about contacting me back with the information, how much trouble would there be getting them to do the work?

+ -1 moreThe plumber found that the gas hot water heater had been moved away from the roof exit for exhaust gases. He showed me charred wood from the roof beams. The house could have been set afire. The plumber went back to the office, picked up the proper exhaust vent piping, returned, installed the exhaust piping-attached to both the hot water heater and the vent pipe in the roof, and then installed the new thermocouple. He not only saved my house from fire but charged less than my son-a plumber in Georgia!!!
Description of Work: There was no hot water. I called for a repair. They replaced the gas water heater-thermocouple.
