When we first discussed the work we wanted done with various contractors, we were very specific in what we wanted and the quality we expected. Louis (Legacy Builders Owner) listened and asked questions that no one else asked. We were impressed with his apparent thoroughness and honest statement that "I won't be the cheapest but I will provide the quality of materials and workmanship that you seem to want." At the end of the contractor interview process we can confirm that he was not the cheapest in dollars but definitely provided the best value and at the level we were looking for. The Legacy site team was very knowledgeable, neat, and punctual. Also, very creative in adapting our design concepts to a great finished product. This was a fairly high end remodel that included a good bit of demolition, new ceramic tile floors, tile walls, some plumbing replacement, new built in linen cabinet, new lighting, new faucets/toilets/shower fittings, some electrical wiring changes, granite vanities/shower bench and door sill, frameless glass shower doors, glass lavatories, painting and crown moldings. Of particular note was how clean the workers kept the house with clean-up every day. The workers actually can to be like family and our dog looked forward to their arrival each morning. It's nice to have workers who avoid any rough language and we always were happy to have them in our home. Legacy gets our unrestricted recommendation.

We had a large remodel of our home by Legacy Builders. We replaced a Jacuzzi with a walk in shower; replaced kitchen and master bath counters with granite and installed new sinks and plumbing fixtures; installed new ceramic tile on2 bathroom floors and in kitchen and dinning room; installed new tile back splash in kitchen; installed new appliances in kitchen; had all carpet removed and replaced with wood floors; built new shelves and cloth racks in master closet; installed 2 new windows in master bath, and replaced 12 ceiling and vanity light fixtures. This project lasted about 8 weeks. We cannot say enough good things about Mr. Lewis and his work crew. They were always willing to talk to us and answer our questions and suggest alternative ways of doing things. They always went out of their way to help with small projects that were overlooked in the contract. They always gave, we feel,more than a full day of work every day of the project. Mr. Lewis always said he wanted to leave us happy and satisfied with the end result of the remodel. He exceeded our expectations on all counts and the project came within the actual budget. We would not hesitate to use Legacy Builders again on any future projects. We have already recommended Legacy Builders to several friends that are planning their own projects

It's been a year since Louis and his crew remodeled our kitchen and keeping room. Every day I walk into the area and smile and say " I love this kitchen!" What a joy to cook and bake here. The layout is so much more functional and the design is beautiful. Everyone who sees the rooms says how gorgeous they are. Thanks to y'all for a job very well done.

Very well! The entire project took about a week, and we are very happy with the results. The guys were able to start quickly, and did a very professional job. The new addition matches perfectly with the rest of the house.

Louis and his crew were fantastic, we had a MAJOR project rebuilding/remodeling our house which flooded in August 2016. Louis and his guys completely tore out our old kitchen, installed everything new, redid the bathrooms, did all the flooring throughout the house, replaced doors and repaired door frames, fixed a huge number of electrical issues and problems we'd long had with plumbing, installed new sinks, bathtubs, did tile work, granite counter tops - the whole shooting match. You couldn't ask for a nicer guy to work with - he explains everything in-depth and he stays on top of the job - we've never had a contractor who stayed on the job more than Louis, and we've rebuilt/restored four houses before this one - this will be our last! Extremely high quality work and his guys were very professional - we are having them back to do some more work in the near future and I would HIGHLY recommend Louis and Legacy Builders.

We called Legacy after finding them on Angie's list. Louis and I agreed on a date, and he showed up promptly. After spending time discussing the projects in the kitchen, as well as our front door, Louis said he would get back to us soon with a quote. Both my husband and I liked him- Louis was knowledgeable, as well as having a great personality. We figured he would be the one we hired, provided the quote was reasonable. After 10 days with no word, I called him to check on it. He said he was very busy, but would get to the quote in a day or two. We never heard back, and that was a little shy of two months ago. We were very surprised, as he seemed to be an upstanding fellow...It is possible he got very busy and just forgot. Regardless, it is not a good sign when someone does not follow through. We would have rather been told he simply could not get to our project.

This was the second time I hired Legacy Builders and they once again did a fantastic job. I will highly recommend them to friends and family in the future.

Not knowing who to hire, I contacted Lewis from Legacy. Lewis and his crew remodeled our kitchen last year and did so beautifully! Lewis worked with Relief Windows to help us find the perfect windows for the bathroom. While he was at our house, Lewis also checked out a problem we had with the grouting of our shower tile and took care of it. You can't find better than Lewis and Legacy Builders.

I left work early to meet and when no one showed up I called. When the man answered he sounded like he had been sleeping or he was being bothered. He asked my name and then stated that he must have put my information somewhere and didn't see it. I gave him my name and his comment "Oops there it is" and said I'm sorry ma'am I don't usually do this. He then asked me what it was I wanted done. Beware this sent up red flags and I told him to forget it. If you have an appt scheduled with someone and you talked about it on the phone, you should remember what it is you were coming to give an estimate for.

Very professional. Work area was always left cleaner then when they arrived. Extremely detailed and very thorough. Louis was straight forward with what needed to be done, came out to the site twice before signing the contract to make sure we understood what would be needed. Very fair on the price. The quality of the finished product was way above what we thought it could have been. Any future project we would not hesitate to use him again. Attached before and after pictures do not do the work justice.

Louis and his crew provided great service for us and helped us get a quality master shower. They got our work done in a timely fashion and were able to customize the shower to our liking.

I cannot emphasize enough how happy we were with this company. The result of the work is a beautiful tile shower which we love. Louis suggested a stock kitchen sink base cabinet as a solution to our narrow bathroom problem, saying he could cut down the depth. When I asked him to also cut off the toe kick, add feet and paint the whole cabinet for a more furniture-style look he cheerfully agreed and it turned out beyond perfect. Additionally, the team re-centered our existing shower drain and shower head plumbing, replaced our vanity light fixture, moved an outlet, and feathered new bathroom flooring/grout into our existing flooring/grout which looks absolutely seamless. He also ended up doing a decent amount of painting which looks very professional. This was our first contracted remodel project and Louis helped us every step of the way from material suggestions, to design inspiration, to narrow bathroom layout solutions. He interfaced with any outside companies (Granite, Shower door) to take the pressure off of us of finding them and getting the materials on time. The whole process took about 2 weeks and by the end of it Louis and his team felt like family. Louis kept us 100% in the loop through the course of the work which we appreciated so much and always made sure we were happy with the work before moving on to the next task. He wasn't afraid to rip something out and do it over if it wasn't up to his standards or ours. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would (and will!) recommend Legacy Builders to anyone.

This is the second time we have hired Legacy Builders, 2013 and now, post-flood. Due to the overwhelming need for trusted builders during this time, we waited for them to become available. Legacy Builders is worth the wait. Legacy Builders rebuilt my Master Closet and provided more storage space than I believed possible. The construction is sturdy and flawless. Shelves were built to provide as much space as possible. Louis really listened to our ideas and always gave suggestions to improve upon them. At the end of every work day, the work space, inside and outside, was cleaned and swept. The pictures do not do it justice. (We opted to do crown molding and painting ourselves. We appreciate Legacy Builders working with us to help fit everything we needed into our budget.)

The work was top notch, very well done. We had the misfortune of remodeling while many other homes in the Baton Rouge area were also remodeling because of the 2016 flood. As such, the subcontractors had difficulty turning work around in a timely manor. To Legacy's credit, they stuck with the process of ensuring the subcontractors didn't drag their feet. Louis went "above and beyond" to make sure things were done right. His work is professional by all standards.

Called the owner. He stated he wasn't a remodeling contractor and wasn't interested in flooring work.

It didn't go well. He would not consider taking our job because right now contractors can pick and choose jobs because of the high demand due to massive flooding in the area. The general attitude was uncaring and dismissive. I understand that they can't take on every job, but the dismissive attitude at our predicament was disheartening. We have been through a disaster and we don't need uncaring attitudes.

Louis is always very professional and courteous. He is very helpful in the decision making process and is very detail oriented which any homeowner appreciates. When painting wasn't up to his satisfaction he re-did it himself. The end carpentry work is fantastic and seamlessly matches the rest of the house. Louis and his crew did a great job of keeping floors covered to minimize any mess. He is also very easy to communicate with and is always available when needed. I'm sure he will be back for yet another project in the future (he previously assisted us in organizing painting of kitchen and keeping room).

All the work was completed to our satisfaction. Louis' crew, Glen and Francis, were very conscious of covering and protecting our furniture while they were working. I was especially appreciative that they cleaned their work space at the end of every day. Louis is a very honest and trustworthy person, and he strives to charge a fair price for his work. This is the second job he has done for us and we have been very pleased with the end product. After the flood, he was the first person we called to help us get our home back in order.

Unfortunately, just as we were about to start the project the Baton Rouge area was hit by unimaginable flooding. This affected Louis' family, crew and suppliers. As a result we had to wait over a month to begin. How could anyone be annoyed by that? It was a force of nature nobody could have foreseen. Once we began the crew showed up on time ready to work. They worked hard and tried not to disrupt the household any more than was necessary. They were courteous and pleasant to have around. They also worked hard to clean up the work area when they finished for the day. There were some delays from suppliers related to post flood issues, but those could not be helped. Louis kept close tabs on his crew and the work and checked in with us by phone when he wasn't stopping by the house to inspect things. He provided design assistance and when we suggested some ideas he patiently explained why our ideas would not always work. Those that did work were incorporated into the overall design. At no time did we feel shut out of the process or neglected or ignored.

I am not exaggerating when I say that we were immensely impressed with how professional and smoothly the remodeling project went. The Legacy Builders team felt like family after the project. I liked that the owner employs a select, small team of dedicated hard workers and subcontractors. The employees seemed quite content and happy to be working for him - you don't see that every day! They took extra care at the end of each day to sweep everything and tidy up the work space and equipment. The communications, bid and payment milestones were very clear and there were no surprises. The owner took extra time to meet me at the tile and granite store to assist me with picking appropriate selections for our space and budget. I also liked that the owner took extra care to make sure the stall showers had perfect drainage and moisture barriers for long-lasting results. A very satisfied customer!

Superior professional work. Addressed any problem areas to make things work exactly how I wanted them. From adding beam to support wall from bedroom to new kitchen area to moving gas and electric to middle island. Any outside contractors such as granite, were dealt with strickly through my main contractor. So I only had one person to address at all times. Best part, was the CLEAN UP after every work day. Never left a mess even overnight that I had to walk over or trip on. VERY friendly and willingness to add or change things (as us typical women want). Contract signed up front, and divided pmts to fit noth sides as to not have to pay something every other day. Thanks Louis

Louis is a perfectionist who makes sure everything is done right. He made sure I was happy with everything, and accommodated all the ideas I had along the way. When problems came up, he always kept his great attitude and sense of humor.

An excellent job on our new kitchen. Louis and his team were great to work with. Always on time and attention to detail. I will use them again and I would recommend them.

We were very happy with Legacy Builders. The flooring team did an excellent job. Once they started, they showed up for work every day and stayed in communication with us on the progress of the work. The quality of the work was excellent. in addition to demolishing the existing tile and wood floors and replacing with new, they handled the moving of furniture in each room. This was handled with care with nothing broken. They took as much care as they could to keep dust during demolition in the immediate area with plastic and clean up. Very happy with the team that handled the replacement of the sliding glass doors with French doors. The quality of the work was excellent. Louis and Don do a great job. I also added a few other small items to the scope during the job and they responded quickly. All pricing was handled with written contracts and they did what they said they would do, not only with great workmanship, but in a reasonable time frame. Don and his wife were very helpful in guiding us through material selections with the flooring. I would not hesitate to use Louis and Don again or recommend them to others.

I first had to convince my husband that we indeed needed a patio extension. Once he was on board, I looked on Angie's List and found Legacy Builders, LLC. I always read the reviews, and Mr. Louis had positive ones. Furthermore, one reviewer had recently had a patio done by Legacy Builders. We called Mr. Louis and set up an appointment. He came to our house and listened to our needs. We wanted the patio extended, patio lighting, and an outdoor ceiling fan. He took measurements and got back with us promptly with a quote. He even contacted a previous customer and arranged for us to see a patio extension that he had recently done. We loved his work, and the previous customer had nothing but praise for Mr. Louis and his crew. We signed a contract and agreed upon a fall date to begin work. We were required to put up 1/3 of the amount at the signing of the contract, 1/3 half way through the job, and the final 1/3 upon completion. We were told that the job would take 7 - 8 days, and it actually took 7 1/2 days. Mr. Louis and his 2-man crew worked each day from around 8:00 - 4:30. He kept us abreast of what was going on and answered all of our questions. We even added a few things along the way - electrical outlet/cable outlet for a future television and a cypress ceiling - and it was not a problem. (These add-ons were an additional cost.) Even after completion of the work, he came over and answered some questions we had. From the time we met Mr. Louis to the recent completion of this project, he was always friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I will definitely use Legacy Builders in the future if needed. As a matter of fact, my mother was so impressed with the quality of the work that she will be calling him about a kitchen renovation.
