Avoid this dealer if you can find what you want else-where. We found them "pretending" to be professional but in reality they are so fly-by-night "make do" amateurs. They promise you quick service and take forever to get the job done. Once they have you on contract, you just have to bird dog them until completion. After several weelks of waiting for our interlocking strip flooring to be installed, a team showed up and after removing the old floor, immediately put down a thick layer of glue !! They began putting down cheap, thin floor strips. We stopped them and forced them to verify what they had brought was wrong. Then they had to spread dry-zit and scrape up the glue. Our whole house was a dust storm and we had to live with the bare dusted slab surface a few more weeks until the correct floor material came in. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE YOU WOULD AVOID POISON IVY. They are the worst.

The best part was the quality of the work that they did. The worst was they made a little delay in getting here or their punctuality.

The flooring estimate was scheduled with the Halpin's sales rep - Ron - in Prairieville to be accomplished on the afternoon of the Monday following the flood. (This was done before the flood happened.) I fully understood that, with the advent of the flood, there would be some delay in getting the estimate done, so I waited for one week before I even called Halpin's to ask about when I could expect the estimate to be accomplished. I spoke with Ron, and I was told that "since the flood, everything changed". I explained that I would have appreciated at least a phone call letting me know that, because I have an insurance claim pending. I was told that the "best that could be done" was he would call me when he was in my area and he'd come out then and do the estimate. This would necessarily entail me simply lucking out and being home when he chanced to be in my area to get the estimate done. The guy wouldn't even allow me to speak from that point on, and continued to just talk over me on the phone until he finally crossed the line when he told me "I would understand at this point if you wanted someone else to do the work." That was enough for me. I hung up, and I immediately DID "find someone else"; Flooring Studio on Hwy 44 in Gonzales. They were quite helpful, they have a great selection of flooring choices, the lady in the showroom was quite courteous and professional, and I had my estimate IN HAND within 24 hours. Notwithstanding their TV commercials, this was my SECOND dealing with Halpin's, and the ONLY reason I tried them THIS time was to give them a chance to redeem themselves from my FIRST experience with them. NEVER AGAIN! If I want to waste my time dealing with people like this, I'll just wait for some jack-leg outfit with no local address to show up at my door trying to sell me an asphalt driveway for cash up front.

It was just as I expected it to be and looked great. They did a great job and were very professional. I would definitely use this company again.

Overall went well. Finished removing old tile . Placed new tile as expected. Several years later now still holding up well.

After making contact with Haplin's, they sent the installer back to remove the glue spots and footprints. They had to replace a piece of transition molding and the floor looks great. Thank you.

Halpins did an excellent job for us. We just showed up at the showroom one day to look at carpet and ceramic tile. The sales staff was professional, knowledgeable and didn't apply pressure. We took samples home to look at a couple of different times and finally made our selections. Again, there was no pressure from Halpins to make a hasty decision. The installers were very good and respectful of our time and valuables. The install process went very smooth and after three months, we are so pleased that we did this and chose Halpins. We would certainly use them again in the future.

Overall, I'm pleased. I really liked my salesman, Damon. He seemed to really care and was not pushy, but helped guide me to a flooring that I ended up liking better than what I had in mind. He came to the house at my convenience and brought samples. He "got" what I wanted and I love the end result. The job should have taken a week - however, when they pulled the carpet up, the floor underneath was damp in the hallway. I will be forever grateful that he told me. If they weren't as professional, they could have just covered it up and it might have been a few years before I knew about it, but the flooring would have been ruined.

A very nice young man came out and did a great job of bringing samples and helping us pick out the carpet. They did a wonderful job. It was only one room of carpet, and I was treated like it was a whole house of carpet, I was also very pleased with the installation.

I had a little over 500 square feet of laminate flooring installed in my foyer, hallway & living room & couldn't be more pleased. The service was excellent from start to finish.

They were pretty reliable. They were probably a little more expensive in some place but sometimes it’s worth it. Their reputation is excellent in this area.

Called for simple carpet repairs, Damien was unable to comprehend what I was requesting; Install three carpet seams and three carpet to tile transitions. He insisted he needed to visit to quote, no issues with that do made appointment. Damien called one hour before the appointment to cancel saying something came up. I called his office to complain and after they got him on the phone I was told he would be there as scheduled. He showed up and advised they were very busy and it would take some time to schedule. It's been three weeks and no call, quote, or services completed. Total failure from start to noon finish.

Worked with Brent at the airline store and he helped me pick out the material. He was very knowledgeable about flooring. Pleased with the prompt service I received. I understood the Service manager was to call me but after a week or so when the material arrived I called to see when it could be installed. A time was set up for them to start, and they arrived that day but a few hours later than I thought. Found out each morning they have to either pick up the material or unload discarded materials such as the old carpet and tile. They were professional and courteous. They did an excellent job laying the tile and flooring. What I didn't 't like was how they left the rooms when they finished. Their was grout all over the Bathroom cabinets, the door frames and baseboards. They removed some of the glue left on the wood floors but left plenty. I called the service manager to report this and he had Guy call me, he was the lead installer. He was polite and came back and cleaned up some. They had also laid carpet on my wood floors in the den and foyer and taped it down with painters tape. I noticed after they left the tape had pulled up the finish on the wood floors.. I called the service manager again and he said I needed to talk with Guy. It took him a few days to get here. I think because the installers get paid for the job and go on to other jobs just seemed like it took a while to finally get satisfaction. I had recently had the inside of my house painted, and I found dirty hand prints on my newly painted walls, luckily they came off with no problems. Next time I will be more assertive at the start of the project and let them know what I expect. The service manager did say they would do whatever it took to satisfy me. That was a good to know but it was a hassle to keep calling Guy back. They even got grout on some of my furniture that did come off but left a few marks on my furniture. They were willing to have someone come to repair the furniture. I also found out any problem resolutions come out of the installer's pay. It could have been someone who was not committed to getting things right so I will probably use them again but will speak up before the project starts.

The process started with Brent, who listened to what I wanted and guided me in the right direction. Since I had a dog, a hatred for carpet, and no idea how to pick out flooring, he led me to a hand-scraped hickory. I fell in love. Then he helped me choose a tile that worked with the wood and my style. When he came to the house to give an estimate, he even helped me with picking out the orientation for the floors. My house is nothing but awkward angles, but Brent knew exactly how to make the floors look amazing without loosing too much material to waste. The team that installed the floors worked while I was out of town. They were very precise with the installation and did a walk-through with me on the last day to make sure that I was satisfied. They then showed me the proper way to cover scratches and care for the floor. I am more than happy with my Halpin's experience. There is not a person that walks into my house who doesn't give me a compliment on the floors.

Continuous follow up needed and had to hound when only done half way. Completely unprofessional. Ordered flooring and was told it would only take 5 business days to come in. On 8th business day we called only to find out it was back ordered and would be another 2 weeks. After the 2 weeks we were told it was in and the installer went to pick it up at warehouse only to find it had not arrived and a new batch would have to be made in another 30 days. When we told them this was unacceptable, they did upgrade us to better quality wood that was available within a week. This whole time carpet had been pulled up and furniture delivery delayed waiting on floors to go it. Installation took 2 days with the installer taking a day off in between leaving a half finished floor. During installation, in ground electrical outlets were broken and were left that way and hanging out of the holes - creating a huge safety hazard. We had to call numerous times and ended up having to spend $500 extra to get the outlets fixed. After repeated calls to managers,etc we were partially reimbursed, but not before much time and frustration was spent. A second specialist also had to come to install quarter rounds and only did 1/2 of the room - there was no communication with their subcontractors. I would not recommend Halphin's and will not use them again. On a positive - the finished product looks amazing!

It did not go very good because I had problems with the billing and I was not real satisfied with one of the people who came out to lay the flooring. The price was fine, but the job had to do with insurance as a result of floor damage. The thing I did not like was the way the billing was handled; they did not give me an itemized bill of what they were doing. I thought I should receive this. The quality of the material was fine.

They're awesome, I really like them. They're really inexpensive for what they did. They have really good customer service, provide quality work and they're nearly half the price of the competitor.

I'm not happy with them. So, I would not call to complain but I would not recommend them. What I have discovered about flooring companies is there are two parts to every one and they are not connected. Their are the people that sell the product and make certain guarantees of the quality and they use anybody in the whole world to install it. Sometimes, that is difficult for their business. We put higher quality of vinyl plank flooring in the house and there is spots that are coming up in the house on the edges. They have a lifetime warranty, but I don't want to deal with them. I don't care if they are on Angie's list. I would not recommend them. I am disappointed.

I had major problems with the contractor I was using. I walked in to Halpin's and after discussing with Raymond what I needed and was looking for, he said we can do all of that. The pricing was very good and I felt I did not have to shop it. The installation was perfect and they called back several times to make sure everything was ok. I was so impressed with the granite they installed, that I had them do the flooring and was double impressed. I then used them for other work totaling about 45K at my office for carpet. They have since done several other people I know. I would have went to them first had I known it was be this great.

Again, he came out in a tiimely manner, worked with us on schedule, came out on Saturday afternoon, he was a few minutes late., nice guy, said he could not do estimate without specific tile which I found silly because we wanted a ballpark on work to be done, understanding that exact price of tile would fluctuate a little.
