Horrible attitude. Very unprofessional!!! Be careful with a company that will not tell you exactly what your paying for.
Description of Work: They showed up to give me a price to move my office and warehouse. After looking around for 5 minutes, they gave me a price. I asked for a breakdown of what was all involved in the cost. What am I paying for? They refused to break down the costs. After I told him no thanks, that I will hire another company, he refused to shake my hand. Very unprofessional!!! [Approx cost of service: 1240.00]

This person called our office on 10/17 requesting a quote for moving 8 days later on 10/25. I went to his place of business the same day, within the hour. (but that warranted a B rating) He showed me around his business SHOWING me exactly what he wanted moved. After actually seeing it; I verbally gave him a price. He received an exact price based on what HE wanted done. His questions were, what am I paying for, and you can’t break that down? He went on to say that in my business I break down the cost of what I do, going on to say he would GET someone else and no thank you. He was rude and dancing around being condescending. He wanted me to shake his hand in agreement with the horrible statements he had made. No, I did not shake his hand, because he was not appreciative of the time I took to come out to his place of business to meet with him. If that makes me unprofessional in his mind, then that is really sad. He was obviously unaware of my industry which is a service industry. If I had given him a hourly rate, would he want to know how I came up with the hourly rate to move him? His business is selling a product; my business is providing a service. So he dinged my company and made comments that are not relevant or true, but what I know is…what you sow, you will definitely reap. So you will not find my company making false statements to try to hurt another company or person.

They were wonderful ! Moved all our belongings, including the boxes we had not finished taping up, from one house to another. It took two truckloads and about seven hours. George and his crew were knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, and reassuring. The move by the way included two grand pianos, which they handled expertly and with great care. We are so grateful and would absolutely hire them again – if GOD FORBID we should have to move any time soon!

I was scheduled for a move into my new home from a rental on 8/23/13. I was contacted by the company on 8/20/13 at 9:00 p.m. that they were cancelling the move due to a death in the family. I am truly sorry for their loss, but as a professional moving company, the expectation is that they could fulfill their contract. I was on a tight schedule to be out of the rental by 8/25/13 and this really left me in a bind. Fortunately, I contacted another moving company who was able to handle the move and it only cost me $950.00, even on the short notice. Any move is a very emotional and tense time and having something like this thrown at you with only 2 days notice (because of the lateness of the call) is very unprofessional.

I started not to respond to such a negative view of our company but decided to at least tell our side. Yes, we had to cancel this job but it definitely was not in the manner that can be perceived in her comments. This was a very unfortunate situation but one that could not be avoided from our prospective. The job was scheduled for a Friday, August 23rd and we called her that Monday, August 19th (after hours) after exhausting all of what we could do. We offered to reschedule, (after all this was Monday) but she did not want to because she had taken off of work. There was death in our family and the funeral was on the day of the move, besides the death, our driver had recently had a stroke, and the new driver was just hired for only about two weeks. We explained all of this to the customer but it did not matter to her at this point. We have never had to cancel a job before and haven’t had to go this distance in explaining company matters, but it was necessary. Whereas we do have means of getting temporary help in addition to our normal movers, we could not see sending our normal movers with a temporary driver (which is normally the foreman) to safely perform the quality services our customers are accustomed. I do not believe any company would want to, or in some cases could afford to just cancel a $1,400 job just to appear unprofessional. Unprofessionalism would have been to stand the customer up without a phone call, and our company has had to come to the aid of some customers in that very dilemma. However, we are happy that she was able to acquire another mover. It’s unfortunate that we had to lose this customer, especially since we have done work for her in the past because this was the basis of her booking with us.

Overall, the service was wonderful. They arrived promptly at the scheduled time, and quickly started moving all of my stuff. They were short one man (they stated he had not shown up that morning), but very shortly after starting, the owner showed up to help out and keep the process moving quickly. They were very conscientious and took special care with a couple of antique pieces that needed special handling. The complete process from arrival to completion took only four hours with no damage or problems. My only criticism was the price. I have moved a number of times over the last few years and this was by far the most expensive move I have ever encountered. Based on past costs, I feel it should have cost no more than $700 for the entire move.
Description of Work: Moved a three bedroom third floor apartment to a three bedroom second floor apartment.

They arrived on time and were very quick. However, several antique pieces were damaged. They were more interested in getting finished than making sure everything was done properly. Another example: I asked them to stack all the boxes in the garage - something to save them time. They did this, then stacked all the storage shelved in front of the boxes. They paid NO attention to any box marked fragile.

Requested an estimate. They showed up and did give us a verbal estimate. However I asked that they send me the estimate in an email and they never sent it to us and they never followed up.

It all went very well. From the first call to set up an appointment for an estimate and throughout the work until the final payment, everything went just fine. Very professional and well done. Customer service was great.
Description of Work: Expert moving did a great job. They moved our household items from a storage facility (after a cross country move) to our new home. We also used them again for an office relocation later.

The quote from Expert Moving Company wasn't bad I just found someone who was cheaper. The customer service was great. I called the lady and explained to her what I was trying to do and she emailed me the quote. It was a pretty detailed quote. That is something I did like about them. They were a good company and I would suggest that people go with them.

They arrived just a little late but since you only pay for their time this gave us more time to pack. They were very professional followed our direction on what items stayed and went. Nothing was broken or damaged and they moved everything in a single day. For the price you pay per hour I wouldn't pay them to do the packing for you but once your packed this is money well spent especially if you live in a 2 story home.
Description of Work: We used them to take our packed items garage items and appliances to our new home in the same town.

Reasonable estimate and easy to get in touch with. We actually hired them to both load and unload a POD on different dates. The same crew showed up both times, per our request. Worked for a flat rate and a fair price.

I called and George's assistant had George give me a call back. We met at the storage facility promptly and he got a chance to see everything and then he provided me an estimate. We talked about specifics and schedule and they then did the work as described above.
Description of Work: Expert Moving loaded basically our entire household of furniture and everything else from a storage facility here in Baton Rouge and moved it and unloaded it into our new house. We relocated from California and were in temporary housing and once we closed on our new house, we could get all our "stuff" moved in from its temporary storage location. It took all afternoon on a Thursday and most of the day Friday to get it all done. George was great to work with and it was a difficult time window because there were a lot of graduations and other relocation activities going on and he was pretty busy, but worked out the schedule well and everything went just fine. His crew was courteous and professional and worked hard. I kept trying to help as I knew it was hard work and they continued to tell me it was their job. They did well. I would use them again.

Mr George and his guys show up right on time and are very fast workers. They are all very polite and professional and we appreciate doing business with them. If we ever move again, we will call Expert Moving again.
Description of Work: Mr. George has moved our family about 4 or 5 times: moved my mom from house to apartment ...from Apartment to house... He's moved me into an apartment ...and then later, back into my mom's house. From the largest job to the smaller job of moving me back into my moms, the price has always been fair for the amount of work done.
