NO..... DON'T DO IT..... VNEVER EVER USE EMERSON ONE FLOOORING... ESTIMATOR HONKED LIKE A GOOSE ABOUT THE VAST NUMBER OF YEARS EXPERIENCE HE MASTERED - PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE INCLUDING SLAB PREP - $2700... COMPLETE JOB! PATCHING, NUMBER ONE PADDING, CARPET AND INSTALLATION... PAID $2000 DOWN. 2 WEEKS LATER, ITS INSTALLATION DAY! FIRST THING THE INSTALLER SAID WAS THE SLAB NEED LIQUID LEVELER, NOT PATCH WHICH RELUCTANTLY i HAD TO APPROVE AS I WAS READY TO MOVE INTO MY BEDROOM AFTER OVER A YEAR - BEWARE OF THEIR SENDING INVOICES BECAUSE THEY DONT. NO ONE HAS EMAIL. NO HEADS UP CONCERNING AN EMAIL HAS BEEN SENT OR TEXT MESSAGE. 2 WEEKS LATER THE NOT YET READY FOR PRIME TIME ESTIMATOR - SALESMAN CALLED AND WANTED REQUESTED i PAY MY INVOICE. i TOLD HIM SURE AND IT WAS $700. WROTE THE CHECK AND HE SAID WE WERE ALL SQUARE. ANOTHER WEEK GOES BY AND HE CALLS AGAIN LEAVING A VOICEMAIL MESAGE i HAD AN OUTSTANDING INVOICE FOR $535. RETURNED HIS CALL AFTER 2 DAYS BELIEVING THIS MUST BE A MISTAKE. HE PROCEEDS TO TELL ME I HAVE AN OUTSTANDING INVOICE AND COULD COME BY AND PICK UP A CHECK. I SHARED WITH HIM I WAS A LITTLE RELUCTANT TO PAY THIS INVOICE AND WITHOUT DISCUSSION HE BASICALLY CONTROLLED THE REST OF THE CONVERSATION. I'M TIRED OF PEOPLE NOT KEEPING THEIR WORD, PLAYING GAMES, AND THAT'S FINE, DON'T PAY IT, WE RECORD ALL PHONE CONVERSATIONS AND WHAT WE WILL DO IS PLACE A LIEN ON YOUR HOME. THIS TOOK PLACE ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND WITHIN THE FOLLOWING WEEK I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM EMERSON WITH A LIEN OF MY PROPERTY INCLUDED. I WAS IN SHOCK, FLABERGASTED, THE I BECAME VERY ANGRY. WENT AHEAD AND PAID THEMN THE $530 RESPONDING IN WRITING TO KEN EMERSON, CEO AND FUROR OF HIS GESTAPO EMERSON ONE FLOORING DEBACLE. A FEW FACTS TO REMEMBER WHY NEVER TO USE THESE INGREATES. AN INVOICE WAS NEVER MAILED OR PROVIDED IN PERSON FOR THE ORIGINAL WORK AND AN INVOICE WAS NEVER PROVIDED FOR THE EXTRA $530 - I WAS NOT AFFORDED DUE PROCESS WITH THE LIEN FAST TRACKED ON MY HOME - THEY BRAG ABOUT TAKING ALL CREDIT CARDS WITH NO FEE'S UNTIL YOU WISH TO USE AMEX (SORRY, THEY DON'T TAKE THAT ONE) IN CLOSING THERE ARE MORE TRUSTWORTHY PLACES OUT THERE FOR THE HARDWORKING TRUSTING PUBLIC. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT ONE OF THEM. I'M ALSO LEGALLY BLIND. THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING ME TO VENT

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They took almost 22,000.00 from me promising me they had top quality installers - YEA RIGHT! After 2 different crews, I told them I didn't want them to touch another room in my home UNTIL they fixed the mess they had created. The owner, Lee Emerson REFUSED to do so and INSISTED they would come over and discuss the issues WHILE they began on another room in my home. It took them 7 months to complete a tiny tub surround in a secondary bath and a small closet. The first crew ( whom got fired afterwards ) had the polished and matte tile all scattered out on walls and floors! YES, POLISHED on the floor of my 78 year old mothers bathroom! When they came to demo, they RUINED our brand new very expensive tub by standing on it and grinding in the chunks of tile debris. We had to rip out the brand new sheetrock ( which we had just got finished painting ), pull out the tub, re-sheetrock, repaint, re-tile and wait on a new tub to come in. ( This making my elderly mom, who had a broke femur climb the stairs to take a bath ). The second crew wanted me to install my cabinets without the tile under it ( knowing when they were scheduled to be installed ) and I had already paid for the materials for that as well as them having the labor included into the price. They were "too busy on other jobs to get to me" - after this taking months! I was suppose to have bullnose all around the top of tub surround about 10 inches from the ceiling but they went all the way up with the tile and NEVER INSTALLED the bullnose ( which is very costly and I had paid for it ). They measured incorrectly for the mosaic in the niche ( told me I needed 10 sheets and I only needed 5 ) which I ordered myself and paid for at another company and that error cost me over 250.00. They got mortar or something all over the back wall of my home which was BRAND NEW brown siding. I tried to clean it but realized it was bleach spots. I told the worker and he said he had a magic eraser. I told him NOT to use that as it would TOTALLY bleach out the brown.. HE DID IT ANYWAY!! Now, instead of little spots all over, it is totally bleached out. This list could go on and on. They were SUPPOSE to give me paperwork on all of the square footage and price per square foot and NEVER DID. I kept asking for it and kept getting the brush off. NOW I KNOW WHY. They way overcharged me billing me for way more tile than I needed. In my master bath, they ordered what appears to be double the amount. They verbally told me I would get the tile for 7.00 something per sf but charged me 9.00 on top of double ordering! This error is roughly 1,400.00. I signed the contracts on a total dollar amount ( not knowing how to measure tile ) and I was WAY, WAY overcharged. I also saw that the tile they have there for my master bath is ALL POLISHED. The floor was suppose to be MATTE FINISH! They required 75% of material AND LABOR UPFRONT! Screwed up all kind of stuff, and now has been holding my material "HOSTAGE" unless I sign a waiver releasing him of any and all claims. THAT IS EXTORTION! Until I can see exactly WHAT I was charged for, there is no way for me to figure out exactly how much he owes me so I WILL NOT SIGN HIS RELEASE!This man is an awful business man - EXTREMELY inconsiderate and RUDE. He told me he was tired of dealing with me and didn't want to do business with me! Uh, well, I was promised "top quality installation" and got nothing but horrible installation, a ton of my money wasted/ripped off and now he is refusing to give me my materials. To top all of that, I am fixing to loose over 17,000.00 from Restore Louisiana if my deadline passes and my home is not complete. I do not have the money to repurchase the material and he will not give it to me unless I sign this release. He could care less that my elderly mother, 5 year old grandchild ( with asthma ) and myself have been living like this for over 3 years. I do not want to install my new carpet until the tile work is finished and he knows that. This man cares about nothing but MONEY! I will have to sue him for my materials, all of the cash money he owes me, the money I will loose from Restore Louisiana as well mental anguish. It's just sad that people take advantage of other people ESPECIALLY after they have lost everything they own. All I can say is I pray for him on judgment day. Please read all of the other reviews on Angies list and everywhere else. There are quite a few who relate with my issues with this company!

Emerson did an amazing job with the vinyl plank through out my home. I couldn't be happier with it. They also did a customer shower and tub deck in my master bathroom. They were very helpful providing my many options for both projects. They worked hard to show me items that matched my vision. I couldn't be happier. The installers were on time and did a great job and the sale person followed up and inspected the work after it was completed.

I wish I had never gone to this company, the whole experience from day 1 has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. My salesman Sal refused to return messages or phone calls. I had 23 documented text messages and voicemails sent to my salesman, 2 of which were returned. I had to physically go in the store to make contact with the owner who could care less about my issue. Initial work was awful and even after I expressed my dissatisfaction with the first room both to my installer and to Sal, I was told it would look better after a day or two and they continued the job. The floors when finished looked terrible!! The best way to describe my floors is they were bumpy and looked like cellulite. Luckily they had the "beautiful guarantee" which guaranteed the work would be replaced if I was unhappy for any reason. I ordered the floors in May of 2016 and immediately told them I was unhappy with the work. It was November of 2016 before they came back out. They use unprofessional untrained subs who spoke broken English. The first crew chipped the tile in my kitchen and acted like it never occurred. I had to notify Emerson of this, the crew did not. I had two different crews on two separate days (both were late). I had to call Aaron (install msnager) on day 2 to find out where the crew was. He ended up sending another bc the first never showed up. Once the floors were down, they did not lay the shoe moulding. When I called asking that they finish the job, the owner Lee told me I would have to pay another $800 to get this done. Very rude and unprofessional people. I would highly recommend that anyone shop elsewhere. They will give you the run around and cut corners as much as possible.

I was given an appointment time and was called twice by different sales people to confirm the time and location. Both were very nice in that salesman sort of way. Neither showed up and neither called on the day of the appointment. I would not recommend doing business with this type. If it starts bad it will only get worse. I have been doing design work for more than twenty years and I know very well this type of outfit.
Description of Work: No work was performed as neither person contacted ever showed up. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND A WASTE OF TIME.

We are sorry to hear your experience with Emerson Carpet One was anything less than exceptional. I looked into the matter and the salesperson went out to your home as scheduled, even though his confirmation phone call was unanswered, but no one responded. He tried calling a number of times without an answer or return call. We felt that we did all we could do. We do offer our sincerest apologies and hope that you will call the store and ask for the manager and she will schedule your appointment and make sure all goes as planned.

The salesman was helpful and nice when we purchased tile to redo the floors in a home we had just purchased. We wanted the work done before we moved in while the house was empty. They assured us it could be done in the time frame we gave them. The contractor used by Emerson did not stick around and supervise his crew. They left chunks of mortar and grout in the yard from their clean up. We had some patio furniture at the house under the covered patio and only after they got dirt and water on the cushions did they decide to cover any of it. We ordered 2 different types of tile ? one with a stone look and another that mimics wood flooring. The stone look tile turned out "okay" except that it was not laid on "thirds" as it was supposed to be. The wood look was horrible. It was supposed to be laid on thirds as well but it was done in the same manner as the stone. It was a completely unprofessional job and I am embarrassed that we accepted it AND paid full price for it. They did a shoddy job of laying the tile with sharp corners and edges sticking up in many places. The workers told us they scratched some of the tiles and replaced them and told us to be very careful moving furniture on them because they scratch very easily. When the job was complete and we were able to inspect it we could see what a bad job it was. When we called him out on the tiles that were sticking up everywhere he defended it as a good job and said that was just the nature of that type of tile (something no one ever told us or we never would have chosen it). He said they had used every single tile and did not have any left he could use to replace the uneven ones. We know someone who has this type of tile and they did not have this issue with their floor and in fact recommended the wood-look tile to us before we made the decision to purchase it. However - they did purchase theirs from another company and used a different installer. It was difficult to get a response from Emerson when we expressed dissatisfaction. We were frustrated and felt that they let the contractor represent their company. By the time the salesman and owner finally came out we had already moved in because we had to be out of our other home. They agreed it was a bad job and sent the contractor out again to fix it. It was just entirely too much to fix especially since we had moved our furniture in by that time. The contractor made a half-a** attempt at re-laying a few tiles but in the end the job was still shoddy and I don't think he truly changed anything. Emerson never offered a discount and in fact we were charged extra for ADDITIONAL bags of stuff to level the floor - which made no difference in the tile being level. I still curse the contractor's name every time I stub my toe on one of the tiles sticking up. I would never use them or recommend them based on the service we received

We are dismayed to learn that, you feel, your service was less than satisfactory. Shortly after your installation you brought to our attention some issues. We cleaned up the “mess” that was left behind, ordered new product and replaced tiles in the problem areas you pointed out. When these things were done, you expressed that we had rectified all issues to your satisfaction and then paid your balance. We are very disappointed that you would express otherwise through such a negative review.

As excited as I was to install new tile flooring in my house (which was all I intended to have installed initially) and as nice as the sales staff was on my initial visit to the store this experience could not have gone worse. The installer that showed up to my house to demo existing flooring and install ceramic tile was not even close to professional looking. The damage done to my home during the demo/install was absolutely unreal. Included in the damage were scuffs/gouges in my wood floors after the installer dragged my washer and dryer across them. The "minor cleaning" I was warned would be necessary post install was not even close to the truth. The tile install was so botched and messy that I spent three hours cleaning (blood, grout, cement) off of every surface imaginable after the installer left before I had enough and called the store. I was told someone would call me back shortly and, after making the complaint call on Saturday at noon, didn't hear from anyone until I showed up in the store demanding answers Monday morning. A date/time to repair the work wasn't scheduled until my second trip into the store on that Monday. I requested a different installer than the original and the one they sent repaired the work quickly and easily. The Emerson staff assured me they would refinish my damaged wood floors for a "great price" since their installer damaged them so badly something had to be done ASAP. The quote I got was exactly what they had quoted me a month prior to the damage when I was just thinking about refinishing my hardwood floors. Zero discount as they had promised they would give me to "make it right." Although not a discounted price, it was a fair price per square foot and I just wanted the project finished so I agreed. The sales rep, the owner of the store and the refinishing guy they sent to my house all told me the floors could be refinished. They went as far as to tell me I had "exotic, solid plank" hardwood flooring. A few hours into the project they had sanded though the wood veneer and my not so solid, not exotic wood floors were ruined beyond repair. I was told by the owner of the store I could leave the floors the way they were at no charge, which was absolutely laughable, or I could pull up the existing floors and replace them. I was again promised a discounted price since this was not a project I would have undertaken had they not damaged my hardwood floors in the first place. I decided the floors needed to be replaced and made yet another trip to the store to pick out flooring. The sales rep waved me off when I attempted to talk about my budget for the project and steered me toward one of the most expensive flooring options in the store. I told him I was not interested in spending that much per square foot on the flooring. He again waved me off by assuring me that I wasn't going to pay the sticker price, I'd only be charged their cost. When I got the quote, I was told I was getting the materials at cost and an additional $1000 discount. I realized none of this was true after I asked for an itemized quote. They ended up giving me $0.16/per square foot discount (less than $76 total) discount on the materials and only $100 discount on the labor. I called the store with those numbers and I was told I was mistaken on the figures and assured I was getting the discount I was promised. I told them I was not mistaken, definitely not paying that amount to replace floors they had ruined, forced them to talk about my budget, demanded to be given an actual discount and ended up having to pick out another type of hardwood flooring. Funny how the discount showed up on my calculator when I ran the numbers with the new flooring choice. The hardwood flooring install was another nightmare. It took twice as long as I was told, I had to help the single installer that arrived on day one move my furniture, none of my cabinets or appliances here covered as I was told to expect, they stapled plastic sheeting into my baseboards and crown moulding damaging them, damaged two interior doors, tracked glue and silicone on my new tile floors and didn't move my furniture back into my house as I was told they would do. They also installed a cracked and badly patched transition piece that had to be replaced. Again, the mess they left was absolutely unreal. The key and the garage clicker I gave the installer (which the installation manager assured me was ok) was also lost. When I called the store to complain, the sales rep asked me if I was joking. It took two days for the installation manager to call me back. The original installer didn't show up the first time he was scheduled to do the repairs so I requested a different installer to be sent. The second installer did a so-so job with the repairs. The new transition piece wasn't glued down correctly so I took matters into my own hands and glued it down myself as I wasn't even remotely interested in having to deal with these people any longer. I was eventually compensated for the lost garage clicker and the cost of getting my locks rekeyed. I would definitely not use this company again. Not a single installer arrived on time or did the job right the first time. Seems like every single time I called the staff was "in a meeting" and returned my call several hours later. I just don't feel like they are honest business people. The sales rep will tell you everything you want to hear and seems nice as can be but he was a total used car salesman. One month post install, I am still cleaning my wood floors on hands and knees because of the mess the installer made with excess glue and I now have to patch and touch up paint almost every wall and inch of baseboards in my house. I remain a very unhappy customer.

I was very pleased with what Emerson Carpet One did. I called them and made the appointment and they had a very good product which happened to be on sale at the time and they have a very good guarantee, if I don't like it within 60 days they'll come in and replace it for free and I liked that. First they did not let the wood acclimate properly - left tightly stacked in house, causing floors to curl on edges. Second they have many nail holes not filled, wood with flaws showing, cracks showing and some areas where polyurethane not covering wood. The 'Foreman' spent most of the day in his truck, not watching the inexperienced crews install the floors. His supervisor only came out when I complained about the quality of their work. Emerson says the wood is flexible, and we have a five year warranty should the curling not level out. We have been in the house for thirty years, and never had swelling or gapping problems. I think the job had poor supervision and inexperienced crew. No, I'm not satisfied.

We did not have Emerson/Carpet One install our carpeting. We got several estimates from Emerson over a few weeks, each one higher and higher, trying to find the best carpet for a hallway and three bedrooms. After saying our budget was two thousand dollars or so, the estimates kept going up and up. Finally, after saying furniture moving was free, the last estimate was $7,600, including about $300 for "furniture moving." When I said this was supposed to be included, the salesman said we "had large furniture." Were we the first customers with "large furniture" I wondered? After the estimate got to be five thousand more than our original budget, we gave up working with them.

The whole experience from picking out the right carpet through installation was exceptional. Mike was our salesperson and he spent a lot of time with us to find the perfect carpet. He was very professional...not pushy at all---and very personable. We took a couple of samples home to make sure what we liked in the store worked for our home. As soon as we made a decision, Mike was able to come right out to take measurements. There was some delay in getting our carpet in (it took 2.5 weeks instead of the normal week), but that was due to the manufacturer. Mike called us immediately to let us know of the delay to make sure it wouldn't be a problem. As soon as the carpet came in, they called to set up an installation date (which we set up for 3 days later). We had to move breakable items ourselves, but the basic installation included moving furniture, take-up and haul-away of old carpet, taping area to prevent dust from filling the house, and installation of the carpet. Our install-person was Mark. He showed up within the timeframe we expected him to arrive--was very professional...and got right to work. The whole installation process took about 5 hours. The finished product was even better than we imagined!!! We were very happy with the customer service from Emerson Carpet and just as satisfied with the quality of the carpet and install. Would definitely recommend them!!!

I almost had to sue them. The installers they sent out did not speak English and did not understand my needs and what I had asked for. They did such a poor job in both of my installations that they ripped them out and redid them. In my kitchen I paid for self leveling and they didn't both to even spread it out, they said it self levels by itself. They put the wrong tile down to start with and had to rip it up. The floor was not flush. I had to pay to get additional tile for my husband to replace an area of my kitchen floor. My carpet looks like a jigsaw puzzle. The measured it to where they were fitting pieces together and didn't have enough for my closet. They had to try and match the lot. Right now it's all stretched and I need to find someone to come in and redo it. The wood floor was a fairly decent installation but I don't believe I got what I purchased as far as the floor it self and the material. I went out with a sandwich board and boycotted them. I was living in Houston and trying to do things long distance. My father in law let them in and it was a disaster. It was a very bad experience to the tune of $15,000.
