this company advertises "free estimates" LIE !!! I called for an estimate and was told I would be charged a "trip charge" because I live in Baker If it "free" it should be free anywhere in Parish

When Richard arrived, he quickly determined that the outlet that a freezer was plugged into had probably become overloaded when it, and the other outlets on the same line, had quit working. He said it probably happened when the freezer compressor was on and someone turned on a hairdryer in one of the bathrooms. Then I remembered that, yeah, the bathroom outlet had gone out when I was blow drying my hair the last time! So in the carport outlet, he installed one of those re-set outlet things and told us that if it happens again, we can just go over and hit that re-set button and the outlets will work again. The bathroom light just needed the bulbs replaced. He bought them, put them in and disposed of the old florescent bulbs. As a sort of afterthought, we decided to see if he could take a look at the spotlights in our vaulted ceiling. He got an extra bulb and got us all fixed up with that, too. We've used Calvin's before and we'll call Calvin's again. Thanks Richard.

They were fine. They came and looked at it, but they weren't really able to deal with it. The job was too big for them, but what they did do was fine.

The did a mistake with the work and the price was very high. The quality of work was fine, but i felt that they were very unprofessional.

Very nice guys, but the door ended up being warped. It doesn't even close all the way. They made an attempt to clean up, but it was left a mess.

I found somebody that I liked better so I did not use them. It came down to pricing; they were on the higher end of the quotes.

I was relocating to Baton Rouge and I had just purchased a new home. There was a punch list of items that needed to be done after a home inspection. Some plumbing work (clogged, slow drains), some electrical work (ceiling fan replacement, dead outlets), some carpentry work (door jamb repairs). I set up the work from 1800 miles away, had a friend let the workmen in each day. All work was accomplished in a timely manner. The plumber spent 3 days getting a slow drain to work properly. The electrician replaced ceiling fans in the front porch and fixed non-working light fixtures. The carpenter did a beautiful job repairing water damaged door jambs, and some outside eaves. After my move, when some other minor problems surfaced, Calvin's was the first place I called and they continue to do excellent work.

I had previously had a very negative experience with another local home repair service and was apprenhensive about the need to call another one, expecting to be taken advantage of as a 70 year old woman living alone. I was completely pleased with the professionalism and appropriateness of this service call and will trust the company with all of my future home maintenance services.

I was very pleased. They were pleasant, efficient and prompt. It was inexpensive in comparison to the other companies that I checked. It was a good experience.

The guy who came out did what he was supposed to. They could have repaired it fully, but I wasn't prepared to spend that much.

It went smoothly and the installation was done in a quality manner. The only complaint was that the new toilet sits a little crooked. However, it's possible that the old did also but we didn't notice. The repairman assured us that the toilet is sitting properly on the seal and to straighten it out might result in a compromised seal. Although we requested a specific repair man by name based on previous experience we had, that man didn't show up. However, this could've resulted because we rescheduled the work.

They were punctual, they even savaged a job a competing company was going to charge me a lot more to do and they knew what they were doing. I will be using them again to install a hot water heater for me soon.

Good ... challenging job, but completed in acceptable manner.
