They sent me a text asking how the move went from 1 – 5. I texted back 3 and they said “Thank you for your response!” Not; How could we have made the move better or anything like that. They were just fishing for ratings. Here is the scoop. We moved my mother in law’s stuff about 2 miles from her home to a storage shed in Denham Springs with the intent of loading her stuff up later to move it into her apartment in Texas when she got one. When I went to make the move to Texas there were a few pieces of a bed frame that were unwrapped and they insisted on wrapping them and some of the other furniture at a cost of $179. I informed them that All My Sons had already wrapped and moved this stuff and we already paid for wrapping. Furthermore, one of the movers that showed up for loading was one of the original movers that moved the stuff into the storage shed in the first place. Then there was confusion about where they were loading the stuff in the shed. I had already rented a one-way U-Haul to bring the stuff to Texas. The movers called someone named Austin and explained to him that All My Sons had already wrapped the furniture and moved it into that storage shed in the first place and that I didn’t want to pay for the wrapping again. Austin was a total idiot about the whole situation. On hindsight I should have just told these clowns to get lost but I went against my better judgment and had them load the U-Haul. They made me pay for wrapping that I didn’t need. Then a discussion about loading the stuff into my truck instead of theirs ensued. This took about 45 minutes for them to straighten out and then they made me pay in advance for the loading of the U-Haul. Sadly, when I got to Texas with the furniture that I paid to have wrapped twice I found some of the bed frame unwrapped. I called about the situation and asked to have the money I paid for wrapping for the second time refunded since some of it was still unwrapped. I was forwarded to Jared. He agreed to refund the second charge for wrapping. He said that it would take 10 business days to post back to my account but it never did. I called him back three times. The first time he said he had processed the refund. No one answered the second time. The third time I spoke with Jared again and he told me he would look into it as soon as he returned to the office and call me back. He never called me back. I disputed the charge on September 5th. On Nov 5th the dispute was resolved in my favor. This took an enormous amount of my free time. In addition to that, my ratchet straps were tied in knots. A ratchet strap is a pretty basic moving tool. It takes about 30 seconds to learn to use one and these clowns didn’t know how. I would recommend that you steer well clear of this company. They have a high rating because they text you to ask how the move went and if you say 5, they will text you a link to rate them. It’s a really mediocre company. Their customer service is an F. Don’t say you weren’t warned

I highly recommend not using the Baton Rouge branch of All My Sons Moving. They are a nationwide moving company and promote themselves as professional and reliable movers. They were not. I used them to move this summer, 2023, from my house to an apartment. The two young inexperienced movers tore the cover of my simulated leather sofa and love seat multiple times. They were basically ruined. The movers were so inexperienced that I had to tell them how to position the furniture to get it through the apartment door. The company required payment prior to unloading the furniture, so the damage was done after payment. I paid with a credit card which was a mistake because the payment was instant. If I would have used a check, I could have canceled payment after seeing the damages. I filed a claim for compensation and the response was that they were only responsible for $0.60/pound. The move cost $653. My estimate for repairs was $1,000. My compensation was $0.60/pound or $192. I would never use them again and hope this review helps other movers avoid the this type of experience. I feel I was basically ripped off by a company using cheap experienced labor to maximize profit.

They showed up at my home 4 hours late with at truck too small for all of my furniture. The employees were excellent and tried to fit more in the truck but that took more time. After it was loaded they got lost on the way from Thibodaux to Gonzales and showed up about an hour late to unload. When they arrived I had secured an additional storage area to make sure all things would fit. I had to enlist the aid of family and friends to move the remainder of the materials from my home that would not fit into the truck to the storage facility causing me additional expense and time. They also broke the glass on an antique pie safe. Although I called them concerning these incidents, I have never been contacted by anyone from all my sons although hardly a day went by before I moved that I did not get some sort of communication from them.

The experience was the worst I have ever had moving. Unethical and unprofessional. I was quoted $129.00 per hour and a 10% fuel fee on the phone. Edward told me that he believed it would take less than 2 hours to move my few belongings 3 and a half miles. The crew of 3 nice young men arrived at approximately 8:00, called the office and my time began then. At that moment I was given a 4 page contract written in fine print to read. Some I signed some I did not. The time I read the contract was against the move time. This took about 20 minutes. In talking to the movers I had found that the one that seemed to be in charge had been in the moving business for 3 months, and another of them was his1st day on the job and had only moved friends and had no professional experience. My 75 year old companion found himself removing doors from the hinges and lifting furniture in and out of the homes. I had to continually tell the young men that I was not paying them for watching my companion or another one of their crew work. The total of things moved were some miscellaneous items from the garage, a couch, chair, dining room table & 4 chairs, 2 dressers, a couple of lamps, washer, dryer & refrigerator. The load took 2 and 1/2 hours. The truck and I left at the same time and my 10 minute ride to my new home took the truck driver 30 minutes. When they arrived they wanted payment of services and refused to unload the truck until they got the final cost of the move from management. The "boss" called and I received a final bill of about $700.00 more than double the price I was quoted. I had no recourse as my belongings were being held by the movers and the clock was still ticking away on my hourly rate. I was charged an extra hour for travel time. Even with my credit card in hand, they refused to unload the truck until they got a call from the office. I lost my temper and threatened to call the police. That's when the only person with some experience said to me " This happens all the time. Don't be mad at us, management does this all the time and people have to pay more than double what they are quoted." The young men then began to unload the truck and once again my companion had to use his own tools to remove doors and his own dolly to move furniture. Once the items were in the house I had discovered scratches all over my new washer & dryer and chips in a dresser. Would I recommend the company? NEVER - I find their practices to be some of the most unethical I have ever encountered.

They did not bring tools to disassemble beds (even though I specifically asked the dispatcher if they would). They had to use mine. They did not bother wrapping the dressers to move them. In fact, they flipped them 90-degrees with clothing and whatnot still inside. The flipping of such heavy, fully-loaded dressers caused one of the dressers to crack on the inside (this was not noticed until days later). We had to refold all the clothing and resort through everything as it was all disheveled. We got to the house, and even though I had a fully-laid-out plan with each piece of furniture labeled as to where it went, I still had to stand there and tell them where things went. We had boxes in the wrong rooms (even though they were labeled as to which room they went in, such as putting a box labeled "KITCHEN" all the way on the other side of the house in the master bedroom). As they were getting ready to leave, I asked when they were going to put the beds back together. I got a response, "Oh, we didn't include that in the cost. We'd have to charge you more time." If I asked you to disassemble the beds, why wouldn't you assume I wanted them assembled as well? And, after all that, my mother couldn't find her Kindle Fire (which she was using the night before the move). We looked in every box as we unpacked in case it got put in one. We never found it. From the 2nd of July to the 4th of July, we had several purchases show up in our account from Amazon. As we had no internet at the new house yet, we called. They were made from a Kindle. Several paid apps/games were purchased as were 115 Lil' Mista and Mista MP3's that were downloaded (rap music, which no one in my family listens to). One of the movers not only stole a Kindle Fire, but used our account to purchase items from them. After calling All My Sons, I was asked to file a report with the police department. I highly doubt the police would exert much effort in a $250 Kindle. I would not suggest using this company. We are very disappointed.

It was a horrible experience. They broke the front door off the hinges at the apartment I was moving from and didn't repair it. I had to get someone myself to repair it so it would even close. They damaged expensive furniture (some not repairable), they damaged my walls and paint and even knocked a hole in a sheetrock wall. They didn't have tools to put the beds back together (a screwdriver!). Their were 2 bookcases they said couldn't be moved upstairs so I had to get someone to do it for me. I told them when I set up the move that I had some large pieces so they could plan accordingly. The men they sent were not capable of handling a lot of what I had so the whole move ended up taking several hours more than anticipate so naturally more $$$. I was basically asked up front if I was going to tip. You have to pay before furniture is unloaded so if there are any problems there is no recourse. I called and emailed both the local office I worked with and even the home office in Dallas and never received any response whatsoever!. I would have been satisfied with a simple apology. I would NEVER recommend this company.

Overall, a very good job, but the office person I talked to did not make it clear exactly how their hourly rate was calculated, so I was in shock when I was told what the charge would be for a ONE WAY (condo into storage unit) move, and of course my things were held hostage on the truck until I paid. The price is established by the driver once they are at the destination, and you can't exactly argue with him at that point. Maybe that's an industry standard? The driver, Kevin, was very knowledgeable and worked hard to get everything on the truck- which got a little crowded toward the end! They wrapped most of the furniture with pads, charging me $17 each if I wanted to leave them on. Although they would give me a partial refund and take the pads back if I use the company again, I'll pass. It was either get the refund, or pay even more hourly charges for them to unwrap everything at the storage unit. The men were very efficient. The only exception was that I tried to say something to one of them several times, but he couldn't hear me because he was constantly listening or talking to someone on his i-whatever. They were, however, very punctual. Actually got there a few minutes early. I also appreciated very much that I didn't have to empty drawers. I simply cannot afford another $1400, so will be looking for another company. After the move, several people told me this company was notorious for being expensive - and not that much better than others.

We scheduled on Monday for a small apartment move to a storage facility on Wednesday. We were told dresses and furniture would be wrapped/padded and great care taken. We live out of town and were going to our (absent) son' apartment to pack it up so were coordinating being finished shortly before the truck would arrive. Discussed with Jeff, who indicated a short job was scheduled for morning and the 2-man crew would be there approx. 1pm. We went to Baton Rouge, packed the apartment are were waiting well before 1pm. At 2:30, called All My Sons and were told the job for the morning had been much larger than anticipated and were were now assigned a different crew who would arrive around 3 - 4pm. The crew showed at 3:45. They were very polite and efficient, accomplishing the move out of the apartment and into the storage room in less than 1 hour. Nothing was shrink wrapped or padded, just hauled out the door. Now, this may have been due to impressions; the apartment is in a poorer section of town and not of high quality. Everything was moved and we were satisfied with the work of the movers themselves. The office scheduling reduced our grade to a B. I felt they should have called our cell and advised they were going to 3 hours later than indicated. Then, we could have made plans to do something besides sit in a packed apartment and wait.

They do a good job of packing up stuff. They were very considerate about not damaging your home when you are moving things out. They always make sure to pad it and they put stuff down. They keep an inventory. They do a pretty good job. They did change their price on me. They changed the price from what I was told from when I left one State and got to the other. That was worked out in the end. But I did have to make some phone calls and do some talking to get that worked out. It was a little bit of a hassle.

Three movers arrived bright and early (8am) and began loading a giant truck with the All My Sons Logo. They were careful not to bring the truck under any of the low hanging oak tree branches near the house. They surveyed the house's contents and began moving large items first. They were careful to bubble wrap furniture to protect it. They brought their own thick pads. They moved speedily throughout the all-day move. A supervisor stopped in around 11am to check on their progress. They were cool about syncing their lunch break with an errand I needed to run, so I didn't have to pay them while I couldn't be there (someone has to be there throughout the move). At the new house, we needed some bookshelves (huge, oaken heavy ones) moved from upstairs down. They were good natured about doing it. They disassembled furniture at the old house and reassembled it at the new house. They were pretty good (not perfect) about delivering boxes to the rooms listed on the box. They reassembled all of the beds, including a princess bunk bed. That was really nice in the evening after a long move to just come home and drop in bed. I did lose a dining room chair (a leg snapped off) in the move, but if I'd moved it all myself I dare say I'd have lost more than that, and I was able to have it repaired. We weren't able to fit everything on the truck. It was 5pm by the time we got everything unloaded, and I think the guys would have gone back for the few remaining items, but they were tired and we were paying by the hour, so we ended up getting the last few things in the SUV over a couple of trips. I think the experience was a very positive one. I'd use them if I were to move again - but let's hope that's a long way off.

Description of Work: We hired All My Sons for a move within Baton Rouge in the beginning of October. Since we were only moving a short distance, we only needed them to move our furniture. We had packed and moved all of the boxes ourselves. The three guys showed up early but did not have any tools to take the furniture apart. Luckily we hadn't moved ours yet so it wasn't that big of a deal. Two of the guys were good workers but the third guy was so slow. A couple of times when we walked into the room, he was just laying on the ground. We moved into a brand new house and during the process they damaged some of the walls and door frames. My biggest issue with them is that they damaged some of our furniture and it has yet to be repaired. One piece of furniture was only four months old and now has a hole in it because they couldn't put it back together properly. If I hadn't noticed it before they left they would have never told me. I would not recommend these movers.

Our move was for 3 bedroom house from Baton Rouge, LA to an Atlanta GA suburb. I wanted a company that would take my belongings directly to the new address without picking up another family's load. Patrick and Travis answered my pre-move questions and gave an estimate by phone. I would have preferred a signed agreement pre-move for my own peace of mind, but the price quoted by phone was exactly the travel charge. To this was added the loading and unloading labor and packing supplies. I had packed most boxes myself ahead of time which cut the cost. David and his crew at both ends were professional and personable. They arrived early for the load and on time for the unload. My belongings arrived safely. The whole process took 3 days, one for loading, one for travel and one for unloading. I was completely pleased and would definitely use All My Sons again.
