Jolly Plumbing

I called to get an estimate and got ignored. I called back because they had gotten good reviews from your list and the dispatch person made the estimator come out. I still haven't gotten the estimate and I'm afraid to say anything to Jolly because of not having an estimate. What if he decides to add 20% to the estimate because I complained. My job is probably not worth the money. I have to say though that it is just this estimate because they sent a plumber right away to fix our water heater and they did a great job with that! Maybe they have lots of estimates to do. After writing this I don't think I will feel comfortable dealing with them in the future. Update: After this review was written the estimator did call me with an estimate. It was approx $3100 to dig the hole we already have out a little for the crock which we don't have and then run 10 feet of pipe to the backyard to dump the water. We already have a working sump pump it's just not pretty and up to code. I also want to add that we had a problem with our water heater and the guy from Jolly that came out for that did an excellent job.

Overall this was a good experience and I would use Jolly Plumbing again. My only complaint was the billing, because the repair took about 5 minutes, but I was billed $100 ($125 minus $25 Angie's List coupon). That's not unfair, because it is the standard price of a service call, and it is what the dispatcher quoted over the phone, but the repair was so quick that I would have appreciated a price break. I had replaced the kitchen faucet a week before. When I closed and then reopened the cold water intake valve, it loosened a nut and caused the leak. The technician merely tightened the nut. The repair was done on a Saturday, and I did appreciate that Jolly Plumbing had weekend hours and I did not pay extra for that. They came out on the same day that I called. The dispatcher and the technician were both friendly and professional. After the initial call, the dispatcher called me back to let me know that another appointment had rescheduled, and to ask if it was OK for the technician to come out earlier than originally quoted. The good communication was helpful because my family and I were trying to schedule errands around the appointment. The technician arrived more or less on time, but did not call when he was on his way. It's possible that the second call from the dispatcher took the place of that call.

My first time using this plumbing service but would definitely use again. Was told someone would be there soon and they were, less than 90 minutes later. Plumber (Dan) called about 30 minutes before arriving to tell me exactly when to expect him at the house. Work was performed quickly with no mess left behind. Explained options available to fix problem. Very polite and I felt very comfortable having him in my house. Cost was $119.28 but this included a $25 discount for using an Angie's list coupon as a first-time customer. I feel the price is reasonable even if there had been no discount. Can definitely recommend this company to others.

Came the same day I called. The person who came to do the service was extremely professional. Did the repair very quickly and effectively. The price was very reasonable. I will use this company again.

Duke Energy discovered that we had a gas leak. It was due to the use of galvanized steel in conjunction with the black pipe. Much to our angst we found that it had been used in virtually all the joints of the ga line. Duke had to shut off our gas on the eve of one of the coldest nights we have experienced in November. Jolly responded the same day, came out in the afternoon and measured, they assessed the issue quickly and advised us that to be safe we would need to replace all the incorrect joints. They took the time to check the lines and make sure that they found all the incorrect joints. We had to wait it out until the next morning but they were out first thing and took the time to protect the carpet on our stairs. They finished the job in 3 hours and cleaned up the debris. Thank goodness they were available on an emergency and came out quickly to determine what our needs were. I couldn't be more pleased with their service and professionalism. We will have them on our speed dial!

They were great - came out and did estimate . My husband wanted me to get a few more estimates. We had already had some of the line replaced and still had problems with another company. Their estimate came in lowest. We had them do the work very professional - helped negociate with a neighbor since his plumbing ran right next to ours, Kept us in the loop as the work progressed and stuck with the original 1600.00 estimate

My main valve for the house began to leak through the valve stem at a rate of 40 gallons per day. Since I cannot turn off the water at the meter, I had to call a plumber to fix the leaky valve. I called on a Monday morning at 7:30 and was told the repair people would be out by noon to fix it. Now they actually arrived at about 1pm, but they did call about 20 minutes before their arrival. I live on a non-dedicated street, and the water meter is nowhere near my property. So, it was not a straightforward thing for the plumber to find the meter. Nevertheless, a new valve was installed within an hour. Reasonable price, no surprises.

I called to Jolly to see about them coming out. They guy let me know an available time the next day, which was great. HOWEVER THIS IS THE PART OF THEIR SERVICE THAT COULD BE IMPROVED: what they would do and the cost structure was not explained. MSD advised to I ask about length of snake, so I did, and was told they have 150ft on their trucks. Then I asked about charges, and was told a sewer line clog is a standard $170. That sounded great. Very courteous and experienced fellow came to my house. He checked the floor drain and asked "Did they explain the cost structure?" He then explained $170 was for first hour and that was usually enough time for basic clog. Camera was additional charge. I said "That is fine. Do what you need to do." I did not feel like it was an up sell, more like the scheduler did not provide all info I needed to know and I didn't know what to ask to get it. He ended up using the camera, and I really liked this. I'm confident in what was done and have a better understanding of my plumbing situation. Worth it! I just wish the whole story would have been explained when I called to schedule. I would use Jolly again, but would ask the scheduler guy more questions next time. I like knowing up front exactly what a service is going to cost, along with what it might cost if additional problems encountered. The guy that came to the house was terrific, and I felt like he wanted to provide good customer service and do a good job.

They sent out a plumber at the time requested. I had a new kitchen sink and needed the P-trap to be re-plumbed due to a different sink configuration. He took care of that with no issues. He quickly located the tub leak, but was unable to repair it because of limited space. It would require a 2-person crew to cut a hole in the the 1st floor ceiling to access it from below. He said that he would have dispatch contact me to reschedule a 2-person crew. After a few days, I hadn't heard from dispatch so I called to schedule. They provided a 2-person crew at the requested time. The crew was able to repair the leak without cutting a hole. Since it required 2 trips, they cut me a break on the labor which was very much appreciated. Aside from the missed call back, the job was handled professionally, courteously and extremely fairly. I appreciated the 2nd crew going out of their way to avoid the mess and inconvenience of cutting a hole in my ceiling, when it clearly would have been easier for them to do so.

The job was finished quickly, the technician was friendly, knowledgable, professional, and gave good advice on future maintenance. The only problem was that the appointment was scheduled for between 8 and 10am and he did not come until 2 hours later and no one called to tell us. That was the fault of the office because the dispatcher was out due to illness. I would definitely recommend them, though.

Very happy. Was scheduled the next day. Very polite and timely service man. Cost was more than expected, but parts accounted for 50% of the total. And the best part - we wrote a check but forgot to use the Angie's List coupon. I called the company immediately and they voided the check (and sent it back to me) and let us pay the reduced price. Nice!

Wayne the estimator was very nice to work with. He listened to what I wanted and explained the options. He was very prompt with getting back to me with a written estimate. The date and time to do the install was quickly set up and accommodated my work schedule. The two plumbers who came to do the install were awesome: knowledgeable, professional, quick, and cleaned up everything.

He was wishy washy about the location of my building... Wilder, Ky and Norwood, Ohio are close... HE said my little city has some strange permits laws ... I could tell he did not want to work here. And I had a $25.00 coupon!!! I hired someone else.

The clog was removed successfully, but there was a pretty big mess in both the basement and laundry room from where sewage spilled over during the repair. The technician cleaned up some of it and asked if we wanted him to do more cleanup. I said "no" at the time as the mess did not appear to be that bad. However, on second look after he left, it was and my wife and I spent about an hour cleaning up both locations.

I called Jolly on a Thursday to replace a sink and faucet in my primary bath and needed the work completed before our Saturday move in. They came out the very next day and the technician was effcient, honest and competent. I was very pleased with the service I received from both the technician and call center staff member that took my appointment.

Called Jolly Plumbing over the Labor Day weekend and left message with lady at the answering service. She took all my information and promised that someone would call me back on Tuesday (after the holiday), because even though the website indicates 24/7 service, "the company doesn't do estimates on Saturday's". It is now the 6 days after when it was promised that they would call and I still have yet to hear from anyone. Not very good customer service in my opinion.

When I called to make an appointment, it was such a pleasure to talk to a real person. And she was a sweetheart! Jeremiah, who I now consider "my plumber", called to say he was on his way and he arrived right on time. He was very polite and courteous--professional in every way! He asked me to show him everything that needed to be done: Kitchen faucet was starting to drip and it leaked around the base, even when I hadn't turned on the water. The guest bath toilet handle stuck some times, and it leaked a little into the bowl from the tank. Same for the master bathroom toilet. Also I had a leaky faucet in the sink. He went right to work, had everything he needed, and the total visit was about an hour. He had me try everything to see that I was satisfied with his repairs. He also checked my hot water heater as no one had looked at it since it was installed in 1999. I will DEFINITELY use Jolly Plumbing for any further plumbing needs. I love this company!

Misdiagnosed my leak in the bathroom which continued to leak requiring me to call them back. Returned trip cost me $189.00.

I called Jolly and they said they would have someone out in a couple of hours. Dan showed up on time and went right to work on the downstairs drain and cleaned it out. He then started on the leak upstairs on the bathtub. It was a pretty bad leak and it had been leaking for years. He had to replace all the parts in the faucet and had to run to the warehouse to get one part to complete the repair. The faucet was original to the house which was built in 1960. He was here for a total of (2) hours and cleaned up everything when He left. He was very polite and efficient.

Al did a good job and cleared both drains so that I am no worried about any backup after heavy rain.

I have had other work done by this company (replacing a vent stack) and I was very happy with them. The guy came out and spent 15-20 minutes trying to clean out the faucet of calcium deposits to no avail. Said they could install one whenever I bought the new one as they said mine was kaput. They didn't charge me anything since they couldn't fix the faucet which was very nice. I have used their services before so that was a sign of integrity.

Dan was great. He was very professional and knew what he was doing. I was a happy camper until I got the bill. He spent 1.5 hours on a Sunday morning, and I very much appreciate the work he did, but $405 for 1.5 hours of work was a bit much. That works out to $270 per hour! That is almost double of what my attorney charges! I realize that it was on a Sunday, but you have to admit, $270/hr is a but unholy.

Technician arrived when promised and was thorough in service procedures.

They were responsive to phone calls. On time to appointment. Very polite and courteous. He got right to work and had the job done quickly. When he left he cleaned up any mess he had made.

Jolly was quick to get someone out for the estimate and were very professional. The price for the work was great and they were able to schedule us in the next workday which was amazing. They showed up on time and started setting up right away. They were careful with the stuff we had in the basement when it was in the way and had the job done in one day. Afterword they cleaned up everything nicely and our water was back in business. Overall a very satisfactory experience during a rather annoying and stressful situation.
