Description of Work: We had a toilet that sounded like it was flushing on its own. Previous plumbers kept replacing parts and charging. This plumber explained the parts being put in were for a 3 plus gallon toilet and ours was an older 6 plus toilet ... Thus the problem would continue unless the parts matched the toilet (hard to get) or we replaced the toilet. We replaced the toilet... Problem solved!

Description of Work: Joe Lay and Sons was dispatched by our home warranty company for two plumbing issues in the last two months. The first time was for a broken water valve in the guest bathroom and the second was when our kitchen hot water dispenser quit working. In both cases the service technicians were very professional in fixing the identified problems. My wife and I were both pleased with our interactions with Joe Lay and Sons and the resulting repairs. I plan to contact them when I need plumbing services in the future.

Description of Work: Came within an hour of my calling regarding a stopped up sink (others could not get to it until the next day). Was very friendly and courteous. Completed the job quickly and cleaned mess up afterwards. Would definitely hire them again, and would recommend to any one.

Description of Work: Thought I had a troublesome toilet that kept running. Turned it off and the hissing sound continued. Called up Joe Lay & Sons. They came out and checked all 3 toilets for a possible leak and replaced the tank hardware. Turned out there was a leak in the pipe under the floor slab. They had to jackhammer a 3ft circle to get to it. Fixed the leak and filled everything back in a couple of days. I thought 450 was a great deal considering what was done. Add the initial trip and the toilet hardware. 650 was very reasonably priced.

Description of Work: The day after I contacted them they came to the house, and confirmed that the hot water would need to be replaced. They quoted a price for the water heater including installation. Before the day was over they installed the new heater and it has worked very well since. Irma Fleischer

+ -1 moreI couldn't be happier with John and Jesse of Joe Lay & Sons. I was terrified when I found out that we had a leak in our main water line, somewhere between the meter and the house. The guys discussed the options with me and investigated the area around the meter. They were reasonably sure that the leak was near the meter, so I gave them the go-ahead to start digging. They found the leak and repaired it extremely quickly. I was so thrilled that they had investigated to find the source before going through the hassle, and expense, of replacing the entire main line. I feel like I dodged a bullet, and I have them to thank. I will definitely call Joe Lay & Sons for any future plumbing needs, including our upcoming kitchen remodel. Thank you so much!
Description of Work: Diagnosed mainline water leak (somewhere between the meter and the house). After inspection, determined that it was probably pretty close to the meter. Dug down to the line, found the leak, removed bad part of line and replaced it with new.

Joe Lay Plumbing came to evaluate my situation and came up with a simple, clever, effective, and inexpensive solution to my problem. I think they are plumbing geniuses! They used common sense and their years of experience to give me what is now a dry basement at a fraction of the cost of what other companies would have charged me for.

+ -1 moreRequest to camera the footer drain of foundation. When performing the job and after they had used two tools at $250 each, they said they would have to dig down at each corner in order to do this. I stopped the process and settled for $250 in costs.

Description of Work: We had a leak under our kitchen sink, and since the pipes were all connected with the garbage-disposal, we didn't want to chance making things worse. + -1 moreThe water shut off valve that connects to the washing machine had been dripping for a long time. It was very rusty and the dripping was constant. I called Joe Lay and Sons on Tuesday morning and they had Randy out here by Thursday morning within the time frame promised. Randy was on time and was very professional and knowledgeable. He put on booties to protect our floors from dirt. He worked swiftly and I was very comfortable with him in our house. After he gave me the invoice, he wanted one last check to make sure the leak was fixed. He was thorough, and I appreciated the respect he had for me, the customer, and our house. I can highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: These gentleman were absolutely wonderful. Professional service, and they totally fixed and repaired the problem we had in our guest bathroom.
