 + -1 moreIt didn't - because he didn't do what he said he would.
Description of Work: I called him to check electric circuits in my basement because using them kept tripping the circuit breaker. He said he couldn't come for 1-2 wk, but I could text him my name and number and he'd get back to me. I did that, but he never contacted me. He had replaced an outlet for me a year or so ago and was responsive and punctual. This winter I called him to fix a dead circuit in the barn (so I couldn't have heat to keep water lines from freezing. He was busy and recommended two others, and one of them came. He's good, but he's too busy to respond to small jobs. I'll be using someone else from here on.

 + -1 moreInstallation of light kits in two tubular skylights. They were courteous, professional and personal. They arrived on time and accomplished their work quickly and professionally. The two men cleaned up everything and we wouldn't even know they had been there. I would use them again without hesitation.

Description of Work: My frig kept tripping the GFI outlet. He replaced it with another GFI outlet. He advised me that its location didn't require GFI by code, and that GFI outlets were temperamental (I forget his exact adjective). He was right - that didn't fix the problem. He came back and replaced it with a regular outlet at no charge, and it's been working fine since. He also replaced a doorbell at the first visit. I will definitely call him when I need an electrician again.

The only complaint I have is that the fellow doing the work insisted that it was a white outlet he was replacing and he put in white when it actually had been ivory, and white looks a little strange when all the others are ivory. But bedrooms are involved and so it isn't a big deal. Next time, though, I would insist on ivory.
Description of Work: We had two outlets that had been two-prong, non-grounded outlets changed to grounded, three-prong outlets.

Description of Work: I called requesting service on a small (tiny) job which was to replace an outside doorbell. The plastic cover had been accidently smashed when the mail man had dropped a box and it was difficult to hear knocking on the door. I had purchased a new doorbell. I also live in Versailles. I was told that since the job was so small, and I was so close, the price of the job would be much smaller than the price of a normal service call.The electician arrived within 30 minutes and fixed the problem within 5 minutes. I paid him on the spot. I realize that all appointments cannot be this quick, efficient, and affordable, but I certainly appreciate this prompt attention. I am planning to call Hodge and Hodge again with several electrical tasks around the house that I have been wanting to get done.

 + -1 moreWe needed a cable box put into an upstairs bedroom for a tv connection, but when the the fellow came from the cable company he said it was too much distance from the main cable box (basically involved 3 floors and opposite ends of the house) and we would have to get an electrician to run the actual cable. After calling a couple other people who were backed up well into Jan., I called Patrick who came and gave an estimate that day, then came back the next day to do the work. It was pretty complicated involving going through walls and closets, but he figured how to make it work and was very professional about the whole operation.
Description of Work: Ran a cable from one corner at the back of the house to the opposite corner at the top of the house.

 + -1 moreDuring our kitchen remodel, we found that we needed the electrical work done. Called Patrick Bowman based upon the recommendation on Angies List. He came out the same day for an estimate. He knew exactly what we needed to do to accomodate the new cabinets and fixtures, then scheduled his work around the cabinet installation. Did a very neat professional job and was a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend him for any electrical work needed. Price for the work done was very fair.
Description of Work: Installed outlets and circuits for dishwasher and microwave. Moved several existing outlets and cable TV plug.

Electricians were personable and knowledgeable. Went to hardware store same day to get type of switch they did not carry with them. Overall very pleased with service and will use them in the furture for our electrical needs.
Description of Work: Checked home for lightening strike damage. Replaced two light switches and checked wiring and junction boxes for damage.
