Weed Man of Lexington

Hillenmeyer is contracted by our HOA to cut grass and trim shrubs. Without my permission, they took it upon themselves to "trim" a large holly tree in my front yard. Not only did they butcher the tree (cutting off the vertical branches so it will never grow to its full height) but they made the shape completely lopsided. They must have hired inexperienced people to do their work. When I brought up this issue to the management of the company, they basically ignored me and told me it would "fill in" at some point. I've filed a complaint with the BBB and will pursue tree replacement through the courts if necessary. I suggest that there are much better landscapers in Lexington, and certainly there are companies that treat their customers better than Hillenmeyer. How they've been in business this long is a mystery to me.

On 4/30/19, a guy from Weed Man came to the door to offer an estimate for lawn care. I told him I wasn't interested, but he asked if he could send me an estimate anyway. He was nice with no pressure and I agreed. A guy from Weed Man called me on 5/1/19 to provide the estimate. (Obviously, this company is part of Hillenmeyer's, which makes the experience even more shocking to me.) He said he was following up from the guy who came to the door and that it was noted that we had some weeds and thin patches of grass. I said that was true, but as I told the guy at the door, I wasn't interested. He got very angry, wanting to know why I wasted the door guy's time and his time calling me with an estimate. I said the guy was nice and I thought it was just a nice thing to do. I had told him I wasn't interested. The guy on the phone started going on a tirade about me not being nice and that I was wasting his time and resources. He demanded I tell him why I thought MY behavior was acceptable. I was taken aback! I said nothing more, hung up, and blocked his number. How rude and unprofessional, especially when associated with a well-respected business like Hillenmeyer's.

When you call they come right out without any delay. I will recommend them and use them, again.

I pay on an annual basis.I pay 1 flat fee so I don't know what any one service costs. They very and they they offer a discount. I've been using them for year. I'm very satisfied with there service. We don't have to schedule it's up to them. They do it when the time is right to that particular service. If they're spraying for crabgrass it's one day. So I would say their punctuality is based upon their own schedule.

That is why I gave them “B’s”.

Although these people have always been the cream of the crop around Lexington, here's why I'm disappointed. When they got back to me by phone, I was curious to hear their 'evaluation' of my yard. I knew it was not in great shape, so I was prepared to hear the worst. All I got was a 'canned' pricing arrangement for the summer. When I inquired as to what they learned about my yard's 'health', I was told 'nothing'. All they did was Google map my house to estimate the size. No evaluation whatsoever. If that's the best they do after I agreed to their sales pitch, I wasn't sure I wanted to trust them with a summer's worth of my money. Especially when neither they--nor I--knew what they'd be 'fixing'. I was anticipating much better from a company of this quality. Come on, just a Google search? Disappointed, to say the least.

Their attention to the lawn has not been sufficient to address to the weeds and the condition of the lawn. I have a lot of bare spots where I paid for overseeding and aeration. The results are pretty pitiful. I contacted them but have ever received satisfaction.

It went alright. Scheduling was fine. It was a little cheaper than what they told me it was going to be. I won't know how the yard is until the spring.

At first the service was ok. Kept changing technicians. When I pointed out that the applications were incomplete arguments ensued. Also sprayed weed control in flower beds. Ended up hiring another service to finish the season.

This service was not good. They weren't really responsive and I had to get another provider to help because the weed problem was never resolved.

They do well, I don't really see them when they do it but the grass is growing so that's good. Sometimes, I don't know when they're coming but I know when they were here because they leave a note on my lawn that they've been there.

an over all good experience. the exception being the weed control-application killed many, but not all weeds this companies prices are slightly higher than competitors. will continue to use weed man-hopefully additional applications will provide lawn improvement.

They are a good business and I'm pleased with their service.

It's a pretty good company. I'm just kind of on a programme in a way and I know the guy that manages this part.
