He needs to hire better crew. He tries to get labor cheap and I understand that because he is paying the labor, but often, if he just paid just little bit more money and had people that were more skilled, he wouldn't have to come back and redo stuff. He needs to hire better crew that stay with him, and with that I am referring to his finished carpenters, his painters, his tile people, and his concrete people. He is a likeable guy, he is polite, he does a very good job of his booking keeping such as presenting receipts, but it is frustrating to work with him, when it could have been done right the first time, instead of coming back and tearing up things and doing things again. It wastes his time and my time. The crew was a problem, and when I called him back to say such and such is happening, I need you to come back and fix it, he wouldn't come back at all. I had paid him for everything. I then hired subs and fixed the problems that he left and finished the project. If you don't come back to your job and stand by it, that is not professional.
Description of Work: We took off an old deck and we added on a large outdoor living porch that was stone, brick, poured concrete and we added an outdoor fireplace, and then we painted. We also had a new entrance to driveway and painted the exterior of the home. They finished off the rec room over the garage as well.

I was pretty pleased with him, there were some things that we had to go back and forth on, but I was pleased. His price was about the same as everybody else. He needs to hire better crew. Description of Work: I used Mathew Cook at Grass Roots Construction. I had done 3 projects with them, the first project was putting up a new 3 car garage that continued into a wood working shop, that continued into a storage area for lawn equipment and above all this was a rack room and a walk in attic.

It wastes his time and my time. There is part of it that he does extremely well, but when you don't come back to fix something, I consider that part of your professionalism as well, not just the bookkeeping. His painting crew was so bad, I had to fire them and tell him to bring other painters. They can't be sloppy when painting in the home, and the woodworking and finishing the trim. He found one person that was doing a good job that he contracted independently to come and finish.
Description of Work: I used him for an addition to the home that included enlarging one bedroom, adding two more bedrooms with a Jack and Jill bath, and basement area underneath the new addition with a safe room for tornadoes.
