Description of Work: They came out soliciting repair estimate for roofing after a bad hail storm.

Description of Work: We used Clyde’s for roofing. They put a roof on in November and they replaced all our soffits and gutters.

Description of Work: In June of 2014 I solicited 12 different roofing contractors for bids on the roof of my house. When I contract work out I'll usually get multiple bids. The higher the dollar amount the more number of bids. They were to provide me with 2 quotes in writing. 1 with the plywood decking replaced and 1 without the decking replaced. 8 of the contractors submitted bids and 4 of them gave a bid that was better than the one that I gotten verbally from Clyde's Roofing over the phone. The only catch was that those bids were without the decking being replaced. The other 4 bids with the decking replaced appeared to be more than Clyde's Roofing's verbal bid, so it appeared that Clyde's Roofing was the best deal. Unfortunately Clyde's Roofing never gave me a bid in writing. A HUGE MISTAKE! | |Now I was told twice on the phone and once in person when we signed the contract to replace our roof that the entire roof would be replaced, to include the plywood decking. I made it a point to say, "Does this include replacing all the plywood decking?" And all three times I was told an emphatic "YES". Their price was better than all of the other contractors so we went with Clyde's Roofing, with the understanding that the decking would be replaced. Again I stress this point, if we had known that the decking wasn't part of the deal we would have gone with one of the other 4 contractors, because without the decking being replaced the price would have been considerably cheaper. We would have gotten more efficient roof vents in those deals as well. | |I arrived just after they were halfway done putting the new shingles on so I went up on the roof to take a closer look because it seemed that they were way too far into the job without cutting corners. I discovered that they had not replaced the plywood decking. I called the Owner of Clyde's Roofing and politely expressed my concern that the plywood decking wasn't replaced. He started cursing me and threating to sue if I didn't pay him and said that the contract says they would replace any plywood as deemed necessary. I didn't once say that we weren't going to pay for their services, or even raise my voice, but he went off on me as if I had. | |His wife was the one that had told me they would replace all the plywood decking and she never said anything about "only if it was deemed necessary". Although, to be fair, it does say that in the contract regardless of what she had told me on 3 separate occasions. Lesson learned, buyer beware and read the contract. I got it, but I still feel that I was deceived with them knowing that I had numerous other contractors lined up. Where I come from, a person's word is their bond. At any rate we were misled; whether by mistake or otherwise, what's done is done. | |It just burns me up that I could have gotten a better deal with 4 other contractors had I known that the decking wasn't explicitly in the deal. Clyde's Roofing appeared to be the best deal because I was led to believe that more work was to be done than was actually performed. What made things worse is the Owner started calling me several times within the first 24 hours demanding payment, all along using vulgar language as if I we a piece of trash and a dead beat. I was incensed to say the least! | |Then we discovered that part of the job, the flashing along one side, had not been completed, so his crew come out and finally finished the job before we drove over to the Owners house to make the final payment. All in all it was a terrible experience that we hope to never repeat and needless to say we will never recommend Clyde's Roofing to anyone, not even to my worst enemy. I've never had this much trouble with a contractor before nor since, and I've had dealings with dozens of contractors in many trades. | |Let what happened to us be a lesson to everyone. ALWAYS get that bid in writing before you make any commitment. And no matter what anyone SAYS, always read the whole contract before you sign anything, regardless of what is said verbally. PERIOD!

Description of Work: Removed existing roof and hauled away debris, replaced 2 sheets of damaged plywood. Installed new underpayment. Installed a new 30-yr. dimensional shingle roof, and flashing, vents and drip edge. All Gand nailed.

Description of Work: Te service people from Clyde's roofing are very professional. They are quick to respond to a call and perform the service that you need. I do feel that their prices are a little on the high side, but I have not compared them to other roofing companies, so that may not be true.

Description of Work: They installed a new roof because our kitchen started raining one day!
