I use Epperson's services for most of my household jobs. Last year, they installed a new hvac system, and they were wonderful. The last time that they came out before the new year was for a couple of faucet issues. Chad and David were not able to fix the guest bathroom faucet, but told me what I needed and were very up front. I knew that I needed some more work done on the room, so when I purchase the new toilet, vanity, sink, and faucet, I will be calling them for install. The house is 116 years old, and the bathroom was updated in the 80s, so not surprise that it was just old. They also were not able to repair the kitchen faucet, and that was fine because I had replaced this tired one 17 years ago. Tammy helped me pay my bill on the phone, and was also very friendly and helpful. Normally, they fix everything, but this time I was happy with the advice and knowledge that they will be able to do the work once I have the pieces parts.
Description of Work: This was plumbing work. The kitchen faucet was leaking under the sink and around the faucet on the top side. I had a Peerless that I bought and installed 17 years ago, and they were not able to repair the inner workings of that brand. That was absolutely fine with me because I ended up buying a Delta and installing myself. Everything in the guest bathroom was just super old and stuck together. So, Chad tried to fix it, but the whole thing needs to be updated. Also, not a problem. They only charged for the service visit, and were great with giving advice. Chad and David were honest and didn't try to charge or do anything that wasn't necessary. Tammy was wonderful on the phone, and listened to me chatter about whatever while her computer was slowly loading the payment screens.

Horrible place, make sure you check out other companies cause this one will cheat you every way they can. Run up the hours and tell you need what you don’t.

I had them come in and do a estimate to compare to my local bidders, they were very close with the other bids plus I got the #1 rated Trane system. I do wish I would have had them come back and install one more vent in the master bathroom, it feels like it needs another one when its really cold. I know they would have came back no problems. They even called after we had been moved in a few months just to check and make sure everything was ok.
Description of Work: They install a complete heatind and cooling hybrid heating system in my new house I built. They had great advice and input about professional decisions. They was even able to give me a monthly electric estimate which was spot on to my actually bills. Great system and performs great! I have a 3,400 square foot house that I rarely have a electric bill over $200.00 a month! Great system and set up!

Description of Work: Central air was not cooling. They came out and checked everything and couldn't find anything but added some freon even though I told them freon had been added a month prior. They sent a second person out who ended up checking the same things the first guy checked. I had been on an HVAC forum and was told to ask them about a blockage so he did but he said there wasn't one. Told me I needed a whole new unit for about $5,000. I called another company for a second opinion and they found a blockage, fixed it, and it was fine. It was just a run around that did nothing except earn them $400 for nothing! Cons.

I didn't spend anything in December because it was covered by the warranty on the unit. They were very friendly and extremely professional. They were on time and they were extremely clean. They had to cut a hole in the wall to run a new vent system so they cleaned up after themselves really well. They were cheaper than most of the old places when I had used them to work on the old unit. They were a couple of hundred dollars cheaper on the new Trane unit than other places. I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: I used Epperson Electric to put in an entire new outside heating and air unit in May and they came back out in December for a noise. They ran new ductwork to locate the filter inside the house instead of underneath.

Contacted them this time because air handler keeps tripping a breaker, they came out and looked and said we had a bad return valve and it needed replaced. we talked to the 'lead' guy and he said he was almost 100% sure that the replacement would solve the problem. work was done on 7/28 and on 8/2 the unit tripped again. when called them to tell them after talking to the receptionist was told to have the husband call when he got in. STEAMING. so husband calls, they come out and now we have a bad blower. everytime they come out it is something different. what ever happened to checking everything before you wrap it back up?

I am not happy with the service. I think they should give me my money back because I had to call someone else in to do the job that they didn't do.
Description of Work: They sent a technician to work on our air condition unit and he didn't fix anything. After he left, it still didn't work. They sent someone out 2 more times and they still didn't fix it. It seemed to work when he left but we haven't had any central air for about a month now. We have been using a window unit. I had someone from a different company come in today to look at it and he says that the blower is bad and the relay is bad. What I would like to know is why did I have to pay $384.00 for nothing and now I have to pay almost that much again to get this unit fixed. I will never use Epperson's for Corbin again. They did do a good job for me in Somerset.

Epperson charges hourly for their service and they started the clock from the time he left their offices and included the time he went to retrieve equipment from another location before arriving at my house. I felt that it was unfair to charge me for time that they weren't even at my house. Ned could not locate a leak (and there was a leak in the coil, found later by a different company), so he simply refilled the unit with Freon even though I had told him that it had just been filled less than a month earlier. He also told me that he had to release into the atmosphere the freon that was in the system in order to look for the leak. I later learned that that is illegal and they are supposed to discharge the freon into a tank and then reclaim it. So he either did something illegal or lied about what happened. I expressed all of these concerns to the company, but they said it was their policy to start billing for labor from the moment they leave the office and that the serviceman was experienced and knew what he was doing so I need not be concerned that he did anything illegal or unethical. Bottom line: they did not fix the problem and over-billed for their service. I would NOT recommend them!
