Overall we were unhappy.

The owner was paid for the job once completed but failed to pay his suppliers. We are now getting phone calls and visits from one supplier that has issued a letter with the intent to file a lien on our property. After several attempts to contact the owner regarding the payment, he has answered his phone once but has not made payment to the supplier as of 8/10/2012.

Owner Matt Wooldridge and his crew did an excellent job. The backstory on our project includes a prior contractor who barely started our project and then basically disappeared (Ready Set Grow-Jeff Weber). Matt advised us during the estimate visit that the current state of our project would need to be completely removed and started from scratch. His opinion was that the job needed to be done right, and not cutting corners. We appreciated his candor. When working our project, he asked us if he could rotate our pergola to a 45 degree angle on patio so as to open up walking area out of our backdoor and door from garage. This was an excellent recommendation.The project's total cost was spot on to the estimate.The one area that Matt may cause some concern with potential customers is that he does not sugarcoat things. He is confident that he can do your job better than anyone else. Our initial reaction to meeting him at a home show, was that he was a tad bit cocky. This could turn some people off, but if you get past that, he is actually a very nice gentleman and conducts his affairs accordingly. If you have met him and his initial attitude turned you off, give him another chance. His work does the important talking. I will recommend River City Landscaping to others considering landscaping projects in the future.
