LOWE'S

They were very good, very efficient and did what they said they were going to do. I was pretty pleased with them. They are a large group and Lowe's backs up its work because of their corporation. I guess they have a reputation to uphold so they only hire contractors that dole their work out to subcontractors that are reputable. Trying to find a reputable fencer on your own is kind of difficult. That is why I trust them. They gave me a pretty good discount. I have used them on several different projects, like installing different appliances and things in the house, like flooring. It is a company I think I can pretty much rely on.

Contacted Lowe's to get an estimate on purchasing a couple of doors and getting an estimate on the installation. I specifically requested Paul Day for the installation because he had installed a special order sliding door for me (via Lowe's) last year and did a fantastic job. He called me the next day and scheduled a time to come out to measure the door. I showed him a picture of the two doors I picked out from the Lowe's website and we discussed the installation. Unfortunately for me, just about everything in my house is custom (which I did not realize before I bought it). Paul told me (yes, you guessed it - the door was not a standard size) that based on the measurements I may have to special order the doors (again). He wanted to check a couple of things inside the door frame first because he had an idea that with a couple of adjustments he could make a standard door work and possibly save us some money. Everything worked out and we were able to order a standard door (which fortunately was in stock) and schedule the installation within the week. We saved almost $400.00 on the special order and were able to get the door immediately and not have to wait the 4-6 weeks for another door to come in. As usual Paul did a great job with the installation and clean up and we are extremely pleased with the new doors. I especially like that the blinds are between the glass and I don't have to clean them! The people at Lowe's even re-keyed the new lock to my old key for free and like always called to follow up after the install to see if I was happy with the job. I will definitely call them again for other projects.

I first realized that they would not allow me to pay the install costs after the job was completed. They wanted all the monies up front. Secondly, I discovered they did not do the work, they subcontracted (this is not evident by their commercials). Third, I went through 4 different companies to get my windows so that they were working and looked professionally installed. The work started 5/11/07. It is still not completed as of 10/9/07. 10/10/07 the fourth contractor is supposed to be at our house under the watchful eye of the store manager to ensure that the work on the outside is finally completed to our satisfaction and is done by the end of the week. The work on the inside is to be completed by someone else. God only knows when and if this will ever be completed. We have asked for our money back but have been refused. I could have done a better job not having any experience at all. The work so far, is substandard and I would not recommend this company to anyone.
