The technician checked the dishwasher and determined that the entire motor needed to be replaced. He was at the house for ten minutes this first trip. He ordered the new motor and, then, called to schedule an installation date. He had to reschedule this trip one time, but still came within the timeframe that he had originally estimated. Installation was fast and went smoothly, and I have had no problems since. I would note that the technician asked for towels, and still left water on the kitchen floor. He also left the original motor for me to dispose of. I was concerned that, since the work was under warranty, he left no paperwork for me and I have no idea what his charge was for the work!
Description of Work: Replaced motor in dishwasher. The dishwasher was still under warranty.

I called this company about a washing machine that was leaking and needing repair. They were very helpful on the phone and scheduled an appointment for the very next day. I ended up being able to solve the problem on my own and called to cancel the appointment. The lady I spoke with was very professional and understanding. I did not feel pressured at all. If/when the washer starts to leak again, I will definitely be giving this company my business.
Description of Work: Did not need service after all

Description of Work: Ice maker was not working on refrigerator. Company came out and determined problem then had part ordered. AFTER PART WAS IN, it took almost two weeks for them to get back to install. This is just unacceptable to me. We were rescheduled 3 times. However, in fairness, these folks were provided by our homebuyer's warranty insurance and were about a 45 minute drive away so it felt they only came when they had nothing closer. The real problem may have been with the insurance company; that will become another review. They were prompt with time set when it was not rescheduled. And the icemaker is currently working!

Horrible, they over charged us. And also put in some code so that our washer would stay locked until they got a bundle of money to fix it. My Husband watched him and fixed it himself. WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN NOR WILL LOWES HOME IMPROVEMENT!
Description of Work: He came to look at our front top washer it was torn up. He only walked up to it pushed a button so that it would stay locked my Husband watched him. And he said it would he a new circuit board, which he was wrong. Said an older Lady last week had the same problem and it costed her over 400 dollars. So, we paid his the 60.00 for coming out to look at it. As soon as he left my Husband walked over to it pushed the buttons in subsequent buttons like he did and my washer started working just like brand new again. So, we call the office and tell them about the situtation and they talked to us like we were dogs, said they wasn't giving out money back. And, on the paper work on it said nothing about not refunding customers money if no happy with their solution. I will never use this company again. I called Lowes which is who they are contracted through and they are going to dismiss the company as well for the actions. SO, Ladies and Gentlemen do not use these people you will end up being taken advantage of and spoke to like a 2 year old. They are very unprofessional, rude and hateful! Thanks, Denise & Lonnie Collins London, Kentucky

I spent about $400 on the job. Much of the cost was towards the parts. I found them through the brand’s customer service. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Dad’s Appliance Repair, four months ago. They repaired igniters on a range.

This is the second time I have used Dad's. This time it was the refrigerator. After months of unusual noises, it stopped cooling. The initial service call was very reasonable at $60. Bryan was on time and actually took the time to test components, including calling the manufacturer to verify testing to insure the compressor was still OK. The last thing I wanted was to pay $300 for a repair only to replace the compressor too. This was critical in the decision to repair or replace. The unit was 5 years old, and I am glad I decided to have it repaired. Another review mentioned that Dad's marks up the price of parts. I found the parts prices in line with what I could purchase on line for a new replacement part. Considering the time he spent, the overall cost was very reasonable.
Description of Work: Refrigerator repair. Unit stopped cooling. Required electronic part associated with the compressor (inverter) that was ordered and arrived 3 days later. Fixed the problem first time and working great now. Even quieter than before.

!!not well...he was not professional in speaking with me about the issues involved and I felt there was no attempt to reconcile our differences.
Description of Work: came to my home...inspected washing machine...extimated cost of fixing to almost 1/2 of price to buy a new washer...but stated that if i could get the parts cheaper, call him and he would not charge me additional monies to fix the machine. When I found a shop that had the part (s) in very good condition (almost new), I call this repairman and he stated that he had not told me that I could purchase used parts (however, he did...he was the one who gave me the name of the used shop parts place to call)....stated that he would not fix the machine with these parts! I felt that the price for the new parts this repairman wanted me to purchase were very much overpriced and that he expected to make additional money on the over pricing of the parts...I did not trust this and there decided to not fix this machine.

Bryan from Dad's answered the phone and arranged the service call very efficiently. Although I needed to call back and change the time, this was not a problem. Bryan (the technician) called ahead of his arrival and came at the beginning of his 2 hour window. While the service required he disassemble the cooktop, he was knowledgable and careful. After previously trying to arrange service and wasting an afternoon waiting for a technician that never showed up from a major service company (A&E), it was a pleasure to work with a small repair company that takes pride in their work. Since this repair was covered by the manufacturer, it did not cost me anything, but the piece of mind that the job was done properly and with minimal inconvenience makes this a truely positive experience.
Description of Work: Cooktop malfunction. Dad's Appliance Repair performed recall repair.
