Both projects went exceptionally well. Ian Smaagaard was easy to work with. He arrived when he said he would (which is highly unusual for most contractors). He performed all work as stated in our agreement. He was straight forward and honest with any problems that arose. Ian worked with 84 Lumber to resolve the few issues which did arise which were not his fault. The deck project was the first of its kind in Hardin County. Each day Ian came prepared with a work schedule in mind and stuck to that schedule as much as possible. He was adaptable, as well, making changes and modifications that were unavoidable when necessary. Ian is a very patient person. Ian is honest, reliable and dependable! In addition, he takes pride in his work. He loves dogs as he had to constantly put up with my little Sam running around bothering him. His assistant, Mike, also was pleasant and capable. Both went out of their way to make the projects go smoothly. Our new deck, for the most part, is now maintenance free which was the main reason for the upgrade. I would highly recommend Smaagaard Construction for any household project. He does quality work at a reasonable price. Most of all he is honest and reliable! Ian's wife, Kim, is a sweetheart, too!

Each day Ian showed up on time as promised and since he had to come back to do the trim work after the drywall was installed, he advised me to call about 24-48hours in advance of when I needed him to come back. When I contacted Ian and told him when we would be ready, he initially had a schedule conflict. He resolved the conflict by offering to come do the work at 6 in the morning which allowed me to keep the contractors coming after him on schedule. Ian arrived at my home on time and went straight to work. He also hung our doors for the project and once the doors settled, I noticed one of the doors didn't hang well, Ian came back and adjusted the door without issue. While he was at the house, he also adjusted a few other doors in the home (free of charge). The framing work passed the county inspection without any issue and the electrician and dry wall contractors both commented on the good work our framer did.
