Prompt giving estimate; crew showed up on time. Very professional and reasonable price..

I write only as a word of caution as I did not have a positive experience. I provided a $1,264 on 2/29 which was deposited on 3/3 (total job was estimated to be $5,056. I was informed that the job would be completed "in the spring." on 4/23 I wrote to Chris Rader asking for an estimate of when the job would be started. I heard nothing and thought maybe they were busy because of Derby. So on the Monday morning after Derby 5/9 I left a voice mail at the office. When I hadn't heard anything by the end of the day, I sent another email. Late that day Chuck responded saying that Chris had had 2 surgeries and they would get back to me soon on the estimated time for painting. The following day 5/10, Chuck called to say it would be about a week and a half (Perfect! I hadn't picked out my color yet) On 5/11, Chuck called to say they could get started would the trim be white as they had some white paint. I said sure. The end of the day Thursday 5/11 Chuck said he needed to know the house paint color that day as they were starting the following day Friday 5/12. I called and said there was no way that I could pick out the house color in one day and that I would pick a color over the weekend. On Sunday 5/14, Chuck called and said he needed the paint color. On Monday morning 5/15 I sent him the wall and door paint colors. They painted the trim of the house and the inside sill of 2 windows the wall color. When I got home the sill paint did not look like the color that I had sampled. I thought maybe I just needed to let it dry or have a bigger area painted. The next day Tuesday 5/16 it rained. That night I had friends over and they said I definitely needed to change the color. I texted Chuck to let him know. As I expected they had spent $325 on paint that I would be responsible for. That night Chuck said I needed to let him know the paint color that night or if I would pay him $3,800 (so now I would have given him $5,064 - the total bill had been increased by $125 for molding repair, $425 for window painting, $325 for the additional paint + he said $500+ to paint the windows - but his son had told me $7 per window and I don't have that many windows! He said well my son didn't see they had storms - but he did come out to see the house to give me the quote) then I could wait for 3 weeks while they finished another job to pick out another color. I said I didn't mind giving him more money but that I didn't feel comfortable such a substantial amount. He would not budge. Said it was not his problem that I didn't like the paint color and the bulk of the work was already done (they had painted the trim and 2 areas in the back that were also white) So I said that I would text him a color by the morning. Later that night he said he would honor the $7 per window cost but double charge for the windows with storms. So the morning of Wed. 5/18 I texted the new color that I just picked out through internet pictures. Bill came to paint the house and clean the windows that day leaving dirty paper towels in the house and paint spots across the back deck. At 9 pm Chuck left me a voice mail saying he needed to arrange to pick up the check. I emailed him asking if they were done as it seemed they had paint spots on the deck and needed to paint an area on the back of the house. He said they would be done first thing in the morning Thursday 5/19. I said I would come home and check it out and then leave a check under the mat. He said the paint spots on the deck were bird droppings (some were but not all - believe me!) I just got home and the dirty paper towels are still here. The house is still dishelved (where they pulled furniture out to clean the windows) and Chuck has emailed me "I will plan to be over at about 8 AM in the morning to pick up the check under the mat." So in short, the paint looks nice. They will leave your house a mess and customer service is non-existent. I will never use them again and would never refer them to a friend. Arrived on time. Excellent professionalism and did work in contentious manner and good quality. Arrived quickly for touch up. Price was reasonable. Easy to work with.

Chuck Rader came to my house to look at damage and give the estimate. He was punctual very professional. John, my repairman was excellent. Did job in 2 days repairing wall and ceiling and repainting both. Used his time wisely with no inconvenience to me. Great job.

He decided he was not interested in doing the job, but curiously enough, he keeps on sending me special offers.

It was done as soon as the monsoon season was over. Our deck needed lots of work. They had to come back and redo a few places.

It went wonderfully. They have done a lot of work for us in the past and they always do a great job.

Crew showed up on time and provided quality job. They were careful on prep and clean-up and took care of some problem areas we noted. Great job and deck looks super.

We've used him several times. He's a little on the expensive side, but sometimes it's worth paying a little more for reliable, high-quality service. We'll definitely use him again and we constantly recommend him!

First, I would like to say that 'if I were a man' I may have given a better review(?). After reading painter reviews I decided to give Chuck Rader a call. My email originally stated I needed painting for my basement walls and baseboards and possible ceiling and 2 outdoor shutters a front door and an estimate to replace some boards on my back deck. Chuck's initial response was great but I had to wait a week to receive a written estimate. The estimate given by email did not cover all of the items we discussed. Chuck was in such a hurry when he came to give me an estimate that he forgot about the front door and shutters and the back deck. The estimate did not mention the ceiling and we specifically discussed the ceiling due to previous blotches in different areas of the ceiling. The estimate did not mention caulking we discussed that was missing around certain windows. No mention of re-applying the baseboards to the bottom of the drywall and the 'Hazard' statement is not clear but seems to state that his employees will not be held accountable for clean up or disposal of paints or hazzardous paint. An estimate should be thorough and detalied according to the job. I specifically mentioned that I am preparing my house to sell next Spring and the need for a professional job. Chuck mentioned that he and his workers are running approx. four week behind to start a job and I said fine. Chuck was walking very fast while asking questions and discussing the work. After I received his estimate I decided that his services were not for me. As I said at the beginning, maybe things would have been different 'if I were a man'. This area seems to have a problem with intelligent women that know quality estimates and work ethics. People work hard for their money and deserve a quality job. Hopefully, Chuck will take more pride in his estimates and realize that some women are business women that are very thorough and have great knowledge about professional businesses. I treat others the way I want to be treated and I really do look out for my neighbors. Update: I received another estimate from a professional painting service that stated I would need to have my walls primed first due to the fact every wall has new drywall. He also went into detail about the importance of paint primer, paint quality and textures for specific purposes. I received no comments from Chuck in regards to my needing a paint primer.

I really like them. They are exceptionally nice people, very professional again expensive but there was an awful lot of work done here. The exterior of the house had not been painted in about 20 years and it was in bad shape. They came in and removed the roof paint. They power washed, they corked around all the windows. They put on two coats of paint and what was really nice was he had a representative from Sherman Williams come out and look at the house and help me select the colors. She has the house looking better than I have have ever seen house looking the years we have lived here. They had three men working out here for 4 days solid. They would come early and work up until may be 4 O'clock in the afternoon or so. When you look at and $6459 that is probably not expensive. I got one competitive bid on that and Chuck Rader was cheaper.

I did not end up using this service

In general his work was good. It was I guess a misunderstanding, but when they painted the room they didn't cover the carpet. I am now out another 600 dollars to buy new carpet and have it installed. You would think he would have adjusted something at the end about the carpet since it is destroyed.

We went with another company that was cheaper.

They arrived punctually on the scheduled date, did a very thorough job, and cleaned up thoroughly after the painting was complete.

Chuck Rader Painting and Remodeling did a great job of painting. Very professional painters and carpenters. I would use them again and recommend this company to anyone who expects a very good experience with a painting contractor at a fair price.

We used him, my husband used him at work and we used him here. He is good. Very nice. It was easy dealing with him.

No one called me back for several weeks. When I called again I was told that since it was a bathroom that needed repair that it was too small a job. When I explained it was the entire upstairs master suite and that it was appraised at $8,000 by my insurance company I was told that I was crazy and that there wasnt any way it could cost that much. I was pretty much talked out of doing business with them.

Came in with a plan and followed though on the plan. All work was completed when they said it would be done. These were several different projects at several different times with varying pricing the kitchen was the highest priced project and included custom cabinets and electrical work. This is a contractor that does what he says and comunicate well along the way.
