Upon my dryer, a GE Super capacity, breaking, we found the name and number of these individuals. When called, we told them what was happening with the dryer. We asked if this was possible to be fixed. They agreed to fix but quickly tried to talk us into purchasing one of their "refurbished Kenmore Elite, less than 5 yrs old" dryer for only a mere $25.00 extra than the quoted repair price of $90.00. There was also a FREE removal of the old one (so he could fix it and re-sell it) and an additional washer to be hauled as well. We thought we were being nice by giving him the extra washer. Maybe he could repair that and resell it as well. Reluctantly, we agreed. Mr. Ken M. Bailey agreed to meet at a certain time at our home. He was late, of course and showed up with an additional male and female. Conveniently, it was already dark outside. The female quickly pulled me to the side almost as if to distract me from what the other 2 were doing. My fiance is an ARMY sgt and has been deployed a few times. I am very cautious of people who try and distract me from the matter at hand. I had my baby girl in my arms and am trying to watch everyone at the same time. Once inside my home, Mr. Bailey proceeded to tell me that the way my kitchen is laid out wouldn't work for him to be able to get it in on his own. Even though there were 2 other capable people with him to help. He goes around through our playroom, living room, and dining room and goes behind me to get into the laundry room. He hooked it up and also, after I asked him not to, put the washer back in place. The woman wrote a receipt out and misspelled my name, wrote the wrong date, and didn't even know what it was I was purchasing from them. She wrote washer but scribbled it out to correct it after I had to tell her 3 times it was a dryer. Mr Bailey seemed nice and gave me a 90 Day warranty. After they left and I locked the door, I went in to look at it. Granted I should have at the time he was there but was so distracted by this woman doing her job. Which was to distract me. This " Elite" dryer was an Elite piece of garbage. It looked like it had been ripped out of a project apt laundry room. The back panel which houses all of the switches and knobs, was held on by gum. GUM! So I called my fiance and told him this was not going to work. The drum of the dryer was much smaller than the old one and this thing had to be at least 12yrs old. Paint and dings everywhere. Metal that had been ripped somehow and is peeled back. Dangerous! He called Mr. Bailey. He was very understanding. Said he would just fix ours and return it. I even said that he could keep the extra $25.00 for going out of his way driving back and forth. Idiot. See what happens when you try to be nice to people? He said he would have to order the parts and it would be the following Tuesday. That came and went. Not wanting to hound the guy, we gave him a few days but he never answered his phone. We left messages, they went unanswered. The website in which he posted his services and sales showed his company, SELLING MY DRYER! They still do not answer the phone. They posted a different number for people to call b/c I suppose they were tired of my messages. So, I called. It rang and rang and rang until someone finally answers. Who is it? The distractor herself. I at first ask if they still have the GE dryer for sale. Once she figures out who I am, she tells me I have the wrong number. Once I ask for Ken Bailey, she says he is not here. There are multiple ads for the sales/services listed on the website and they have both numbers listed. I'm so furious, I could scream. I have contacted the website and told them about the scam that this individual is running. I have cancer. Im 27 and have 3 kids. I have no insurance. How are you going to steal from someone who is dying? I could have used that money to but medication. As a result of these scammers, I am in the process of filing a small claims suit. Yes, it will cost more money but now, its the principal. I want to teach my children to stand up when someone wrongs them. To fight for themselves. Not to fight with someone. Also, we had to purchase an additional dryer, in case they were decent human beings and followed through with their word. All in all, we have spent over $300.00 on a USED dryer. Next time, I go with professionals.
