Description of Work: Garage door spring broke at 7pm and the technician came an hour later and did not charge service fees for after hours. Technician was professional, courteous, and repaired the garage door in under an hour. Would hire again.

Description of Work: Maintenance on 12 year old garage door that had never had any maintenance. Needed new door wheels, bearings, springs, gearbox, etc. Patrick did a great job -- some of the items I knew were worn/broken, and he showed me the others. Called before he came and was exactly on time. Lifetime warranty. Never like dropping $600, but it is the first and last parts expense I will have. Very satisfied.

Description of Work: My garage door fell partially off the tracks and was at risk of collapsing on a car. The highly experienced repair person suggested we should buy a new steel door, but we decided to go with a less expensive option of repairing and reinforcing the original door. I believe this solution will give us a few more years before we have to buy a new door and as of now it is much quieter.

Description of Work: They installed the garage door opener motor and accessories. It was installed without any issues and it works without any problems. + -1 morePrecision Door Service came out at the request of Old Republic, my homebuyer's insurance, to replace a spring in my garage door. The Precision Door Service technician informed me that Old Republic was incorrect and that this service was not covered by insurance. The technician said that there would be a $75 service call fee just for him coming out today, it would be $225 to replace both springs, and it would be $30 to replace the center bracket. This seemed outrageous. I wasn't sure, but I felt like he was over-estimating since a) I was stuck with him at my house already, and b) I'm a woman who knows nothing about garage doors. I called my homebuyer's insurance for one of their representatives to speak with the man. In the end, the insurance company paid the service fee (which they should have - they made a mistake in telling me it was covered in the first place) and they talked the technician down to a quote of $195 for the springs plus $30 for the center bracket if I chose to go with their service. With a bad taste in my mouth from this experience, I decided to call around and sent the Precision Door Technician home. I have someone coming out to do it for $170 total. When I spoke to someone at another company and mentioned the $30 fee to replace the center bracket to them, they said that they usually don't have to be replaced, and even if they did it would be under $10. They actually said, "Did Precision Door Service tell you that?" and guessed who had given me the original estimate. Apparently this is a typical thing for them. I hope they change their policies to be more customer-friendly.
