We decided not to do this service at the time. Nothing wrong with the provider and I will use him again, when we decide what the best plan of service is.
Description of Work: He was supposed to do some yard work but we hard issues on what was appropriate to do. Eventually we decided not to pursue this further.

Hard workers--very diligent regarding detail and customer satisfaction. Price was reasonable and they kept on till every detail was done. These are good, reliable people. The finest aspect of their work was the meticulous detail with which they performed the services. While the manager was not always present, he always inspected the work before a day was done. On more than one occasion I noticed the manager working by himself to fine-tune what he was not personally satisfied with. It took several weeks to complete all the work (there was a lot of it), but they made sure I was 110% satisfied, and have been more than willing to correct anything they missed. You just don't find a lot of companies which take such pride in their work. This one does. I would say I'd use them again, but they did such a thorough job, there's nothing left to do! I guess that's about the highest accolade a customer can offer, and this one is well earned. Very, very pleased.
Description of Work: This was a lot of stuff to do - from deck washing to window replacement to landscaping - these guys did it all so well!

We contracted with Andy to do a retaining wall to replace one. Due to bad weather Andy ran a little behind but kept me up to date on when he hoped to arrive. When they got there old wall torn out and redug out BY HAND. Rocks put in for good drainage and wall replaced with retaining wall stone. They also rebuilt the steps (old wall and steps were wood). And left everything clean and tidy. Even swept up stone cuttings. Will use them again for other projects we have planned. Thanks

Description of Work: I Just called to see what the prices were on landscaping. They said they had to come out to quote it and I just haven't followed through. Will keep them in mind though when I am ready to have some professional landscaping done.

The work came out as Andy described. We are very pleased with the look, and dealing with Andy and his crew was a pleasure. Prompt, hard working, friendly and they did what they said they'd do.
Description of Work: Remove old house bedding, regrade, reshape, replant and cover all with artificial rock that acts as a mulch (it retains 15% of its weight in water.) Lined all with hand shaped limestone. Also addressed some drainage issues, buried the gutters and rebuilt a retaining wall with limestone boulders. This all required a large tri-axle of the artificial gravel and several trailers of limestone.

Overall we are very pleased with the project and with the follow through. Although we had a few problems with the project (which explains the one "B" in the rating, Andy came back or sent his crew back until it was done correctly. He was flexible and very reasonable to work with. He is also flexible in working with other contractors. Cost was average (we had 4 estimates). We plan to use Cutting Edge for our next project, a hardscape.
Description of Work: Regraded front yard, replanted, replaced walk way, constructed retaining wall. Trimmed large trees to repair storm damage.

Andy came out with his crew, marked the bed and locations for transplants, supervised the seedling transplants and was on site about half the time his crew worked. I raised a question about how the street trees had been planted (by another company hired by the developer) and he verified that they had not been properly planted (too deep, cage still intact, burlap still tied at the trunk) and personally removed as much of the burlap and cage as was accessible, removed enough dirt and mulch to have the trees properly set in the ground. A few days later I had some concerns that the Magnolias might be too close to the house. Andy did not raise any questions, sent his crew out to replant them and personally came out to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. The actual cost came in slightly above his estimate, primarily because of the extra work on the street trees, and he gave us a discount to lower the cost. We will definitely call upon him again for any future landscaping needs and have already recommended him to a neighbor who admired his work.
Description of Work: Andy came out to discuss the work we wanted to do. He arrived on schedule, listened to our ideas and came up with a good plan that was within the amount we wanted to spend. The planned work involved designing a new bed on the sideof the house, transplanting three hollies and five seedlings, planting two 6' Magnolias, weeding and mulching existing beds. The acutal work expanded to include some "rescue" reworking of recently planted street trees that had been improperly planted.

We have been very pleased with them. We spent about $6,500 on the job. We are very satisfied with the job. Our neighbors are pleased, too; they think it is beautiful. Initially, they gave us a higher price. We told them that it was not in the budget. We worked together and were able to work out a reasonable price. They were top-notch. We would use them again in the future.

Overall they were very good and I regret not using them. He was very professional and he knew what the plants actually were. He knew what the plant was and he helped me figure out what to do with different things. He was right on the page but he was a little bit more expensive and so I went with a lesser price. The people who I did hire left weeds thinking they were flowers and they took out the wrong bushes. Since then the bushes died and I feel I should have used them instead. I would use them in the fall.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from Cutting Edge Landscapes Inc end of May for trimming, edging, pulling out some dead stuff and repositioning something's. They were also going to do mulching and clean up the yard.

It went great. While his workers were weeding, edging and mulching, he helped me choose an ornamental peach tree in a nearby garden center. He has loads of patience while I hem and haw over what I want. Andy has always been very professional and helpful. The only negative I can find is that he sometimes does not come when we have scheduled a meeting. This is often because another job has run over. What I have found is if I have patience waiting for him, he gives me 200% so I feel it is worth the wait.
Description of Work: I have used this company since 2006. This time Andy and his workers weeded, edged, and mulched the beds in both the front and backyards, planted a weeping peach tree, removed 2 dead taxus bushes, trimmed my holly bushes and my maple trees. HARDSCAPING AND PAVERS: The first time I worked with this company they constructed a covered patio in my backyard. Cutting Edge contracted the work out to two other companies, but I worked with Cutting Edge. The first company constructed the roof and columns.Their first design was great but they noticed that the other homes with patios around me had steeped roofs, so they redesigned mine to fit into the neighborhood. I really liked that. The patio was constructed by a second company that laid brick pavers over concrete. Again, I was talked out of a more expensive basket weave brick pattern into a running bond. It came in on price and is the talk of the block. Everyone comes to look at it. I think the covered patio is constructed better than my house.

Andy Stachon(owner/designer) made our somewhat vague concepts come to life with minimum input, except looking at photos and visiting a previously completed large job. Our pleasing adventure started after watching Cutting Edge accomplish several other smaller, prefab block ,hardscape projects on our cul-de-sac street. The entire process was flexible and congenial and the outcome exceeded our expectations. They combining craftsmanship, conscientiousness and creativity with stone materials. The costs were somewhat unpredictable, but were minimized to the extent possible without compromising the high quality appearance of the finished work. Despite weather delays in December/January, affecting both the quarry and the actual jobsite work, everyone worked cooperatively. Just be as explicit as possible in describing the desired results and watch Andy kinda make your dreams come true. Provide maximum feedback as construction progresses. Andy and his crew will work out the details. Everyone was respectful of their surroundings and minimized inconveniences to neighbors re presence of equipment-- while also minimizing damage to existing lawn areas. Cutting Edge could readily choose ,acquire, and install plant materials, but that is one of my upcoming projects as I approach retirement age.
Description of Work: Added major hardscape features to front yard including lazy 's'-shaped stone steps(13) and terraced stone walls around large trees. Steps and stone walls are sandstone purchased direct from a quarry in southern Kentucky--maybe six tons of stones by conclusion of work--in two phases. Dry stack construction was implemented(no mortar, just painstaking attention to fit up of multi-sized stones). The steps are 2'x4'x 5" thick.

The entire project went very smoothly. Andy did a lot of extra research to help me find the right kind of stone for the job. He was professional, reliable, and competent. His workers were hard working and he supervised them well. We very pleased with the entire process and the wall is lovely.

All people that I know who have worked with him say he was pretty good. He did an excellent job here. He even made some last minute adjustments for me. He ran and got some more plants for me. He even planted some plants for me that I had bought myself. They were not part of the package and he did not charge me for them. After several bids, there was very little difference. We ended up paying a little additional by going with him, but, it was well worth it. It was superior, everything, even the design. One thing I liked was that we even looked around for plants that I had priced myself, instead of ordering his own plants, which were more expensive. He had made the proper adjustments and went and bought the plants I had looked at. He did preparation and he was excellent all the way around. I am very pleased.
Description of Work: I had plants installed, a tree put in, drain tiles laid, spouts, mulch and everything. This was all done in front yard by Cutting Edge.
