Eight days later, after hearing nothing from her and no emails, I called and left a message asking for a return call. It was a full week after that before she finally called back, apologizing and offering excuses about being busy. By this time I was already checking the list for other landscapers. She still had no photos to offer, nothing on any seed. She gave an estimate for ground cover and some additional landscaping in that area, and said that she could fit us in on Thursday of the following week. My husband and I discussed the estimate that night. We weren’t particularly happy the price, and we couldn’t get happy with the fact that she had left us sitting for two weeks with no word, and when she did get back she still did not provide the info she had promised. We decided to address the drain area first, and the groundcover later. I called her the next day and told her this. She said that she could come out the next day, Saturday, and discuss drain-line landscaping and again promised to check on a seed that might work on that area, and once again made a comment about “fitting us in the following Thursday”. We hadn’t decided on anything yet, but she was evidently determined that this wouldn’t interfere with her Thursday scheduling. I okayed that next day visit but later found that previous obligations would make it difficult to keep that appointment. I called her back, got her voice mail again, left her a message indicating that the Saturday appointment could be difficult to keep, and I also stated that it would be more logical to first do the seed check that she had been promising and finalize that possibility before discussing anything else and wasting a trip, since extensive landscaping would not be necessary for this area if a particular seed could work. While this turn of events was accidental, I was interested in seeing how Kim would react to it, considering her previous performance, and, she did as predicted; she didn’t reply for over a month, then left a message asking if we’d decided what we wanted to do. Before calling her I read two reviews, and was disappointed to read in one of them that she hadn’t returned calls and hadn’t shown up as promised. Evidently that is part of her trademark; she may care about landscaping but she doesn’t care about doing what she says. She’ll spin the story differently, as she did when I confronted her with that bad review, but the simple truth is that she didn’t do as she promised, allowed us to sit for two weeks with no word, and ignored my call until it was convenient for her to return it, and then returned the call when she had an opening that she wanted to fill. I’m afraid that she is going to find that this business model will only lead to more reviews like this one.
Description of Work: We were considering some ground cover in a certain area of our yard, plus another spot with a drain line was having trouble growing grass over it. We called Kim out for some ideas and estimates. She seemed knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and we discussed the areas and options in depth. We left that visit with some ideas to ponder and she stated that she would email some ground cover photos and check into some particular grass seed for the drain area.

the above was quite disappointing. Kim is quite personable and seems well versed in her trade. We were looking forward to working with her. As she did not follow up, no work was done.
Description of Work: We contacted Kim in April sometime and were impressed with her when we met her. We set up a date and time and she arrived as scheduled. Her follow up was less than desirable...she did not call when she said she would; she did not return calls in a timely manner. When we met a 2nd time to review some revisions, she again did not follow up as she said she would and did not return calls in a timely manner. When we finally spoke, she said she had a job out of state and could we meet 5/17, which we agreed to. She neither called nor showed up.

I have a difficult time telling people No I don't want to work for you after I just offered them a free truck load of old bricks.and then they ask me for a discount. That was a HUGE Discount. And I still had to haul them and unload them for What? For FREE This is not the easiest work on the planet. We give you our bodies besides our education in this field. I Love this work, but when folks knock you down it does not make you want to say "sure when can we get started" I love working for folks who want all parties overly satisfied upon completion of the job.

I have had several complements on what she did. It worked really well. It made my home a lot more appealing. She is very earthy, she cares deeply and she is a very plant oriented person. She made some good recommendations because she is very knowledgeable and very reliable.
Description of Work: She redid the grassy area in front of my porch, she removed a large lilac bush, and she added in some new soil, really nice plants, and flowers.
