+ 0 moreJohn and his team were very professional, neat, and easy to work with. We ended up being out of the kitchen for about two weeks, which I thought was pretty good given the job. We modified the kitchen island, painted cabinets, installed new countertops, and replaced backsplash. John was punctual and did not have any down time where the kitchen just sat unfinished. We've had projects before where the contractor would start another job and send guys over to ours when they had the time...extending construction time significantly. Thankfully, this was not the case with John. They cleaned up after each day which was also a huge plus. I would definitely recommend JT Contracting!

I had Barkley, Jeremy, Jay, Larry, and John all working at my house and they kept it clean and tidy as well. The scope of work was completed in roughly 4 weeks and looks amazing. We love our new kitchen.

+ -1 moreWe chose this company for our old house bathroom remodel a couple years ago because they provided a reasonable estimate and were able to start work at the right time for us. The workers were very nice and respectful and while he was barely onsite, the owner was reasonably easy to contact and responsive to concerns. However, it later became apparent that a number of important elements of the job were not done especially well. The bathroom subfloor was not laid properly, resulting in squeaks around the tub area. We have since realized that the grout lines around our subway tile walls are much larger than normal and thus difficult to keep clean (we had deferred to the workers about appropriate spacing). 2.5 years out and the tub caulk is peeling off and needs replacement. A small crack emerged in the ceiling drywall a couple of months after the job. During the job itself, the workers dropped a tool on the tub, damaging it and requiring a replacement. We had to demand some poor floor tile laying and carpentry work be fixed before final payment. We probably could have avoided some of these issues had we micromanaged more closely, but we were new to renovations and extremely busy with work and a baby. All in all, I think this is a decent company (none are perfect), but I would suggest closely monitoring the project to ensure everything is being done correctly.

+ 5 moreProject went well; workers were on time every day, and explained any questions. Every day when leaving, the workers cleaned up the area, having also spread a mat over the work area entry way. I was very pleased with the result. The owner was always responsive to questions or any concerns we had. I believe the price was fair for the work done, and I would use and recommend this contractor to anyone and any appropriate project.

+ 4 moreJohn was able to get the project started quickly and it was completed in a timely manner. The crew were professional and took care in completing the necessary work. They removed the existing vanity, toilet, fixtures, tile, and wall paper and demoed one wall to extend the new shower into an adjoining storage space. I provided the shower unit, vanity, tile, and fixtures and we reused the toilet. I also chose to do the painting myself. My wife and I are very pleased with the result.
Description of Work: We wanted to add a shower to a half bath in our basement and update the rest of the bathroom as part of the remodel.

+ 6 moreWe were extremely pleased with the service received. There was one mistake made, when the crew, in removing some carpet we wanted to save, removed it in strips as for disposal. But John took full responsibility, and gave us a credit for replacement carpet. It was a very fair and honest resolution. Overall, the quality and reliability of the crew was excellent.

My decision was based on John's reputation, his respect for historic structures, and his written and verbal communication skills. I definitely made the right choice. John's team arrived on time every single morning, and each one of these fine men worked hard and were flexible with the quirks that are guaranteed to arise in 100+ year old homes. Individually and collectively, the craftsmen were excellent problem solvers, attentive to details, and always cheerful. The project took three weeks, and never once did I regret having the team in my home. John checked in on the job often and was always pleasant, caring, timely, and true to his word. The end result is a stunningly gorgeous bathroom and a very happy homeowner. I highly recommend JT Contracting of Northern Kentucky and will call John for future projects.

The two-man team who was dispatched to our home was engaging, tidy throughout their work, courteous, wisely strategic in plan and execution, explained well how they were working through each unexpected hurdle, which were numerous in our 1946 house, and strongly finished ensuring every detail was completed as perfectly as humanly possible. Additionally, the owner, John Trinkle, proved to be a patient and flexible man as we encountered two major scheduling setbacks due first to our tub and shower retailer and secondly to our tub and shower manufacturer. Both times he rescheduled the team lined up for work in our home quickly and efficiently while also rescheduling them for continuing work in our home in the same manner. Serving their customers well is obviously a priority for JT Contracting.

+ 8 moreJohn Trinkle of JT Contracting gave us a clear, simple, and competitive quote; then he set up the bathroom renovation start date. Jordan and Nick came on the set date and did most of the demolition on day 1. Over the next week, they installed the tub, added drywall and plaster (the soffit above bath was removed), laid the floor and wall tiles, installed the vanity and countertop (we ordered these materials but they picked it up), toilet, lighting, taps, and cleaned up when done. They are friendly, work carefully, communicate appropriately, and did a very good job overall. We have asked them to work on renovating our Master Bath next. P.S. Preview of this review says Category - Painting Interior, but the correct Category should be Bathroom Remodel. Unsure how to change it.

Jordan was very friendly and was able to handle my vicious dogs when I was away at work. ;o) They were very neat in terms of installing clear walk guards as not to ruin the carpet. Jordan would text me pictures of the progress or if he had questions. I had him redo the built-in shelf after he completed it because I didn't like the frame he put around it. I got no complaint and it was done when I got home. The project took about 5 days. John Trinkle was always accessible by phone and very friendly. I like the fact that he allowed me to do the work I was comfortable with and leave the rest to him and his team. I cannot say enough nice things about John and his team. We shopped 2 or 3 other contractors and they were either cheaper or inline with the others. We would highly recommend J.T. Contractors for your next job.
Description of Work: They tiled our bathroom floor to ceiling with tile I purchased from Home Depot. Installed a new shower head and controls. Installed new shower pan. Installed a niche in the shower. Replaced my valves for the vanity. I demoed the bathroom before the project but they finished by removing the subfloor and the concrete wall in the shower. They also made a built-in shelf where the medicine cabinet was and added an outlet for my electric toothbrush. They also removed my old can light in the ceiling and replaced with a new can light with a new modern finish and added a LED bulb.

Were very flexible and understanding with a few minor changes we wanted. Adhered to the vision of what we wanted! Followed through as promised to work out a couple of minor issues This is a GREAT company - we loved ther work and would recommend them for anyone!
Description of Work: JT Contracting did a a complete bathrrom remodel for us. Including, tile floors and shower, lighting, plumbing, install of sink, vanity, toilet and heavy shower door! We supplied all materials and they did the entire install. They also installed a kitchen backsplash. We thought the price was very reasonalble for the amount of detail we wanted.

The team also found during the repair that the toilet seal had broken and was also in need of repair - they completed that as well after I gave them the green light. Great experience overall and they are the company that I will call when I'm ready for a bathroom remodel.

They came up with creative solutions for some basement oddities that look great. We felt comfortable leaving them while we were at work. The work took a few days longer than expected, however, they did ensure everything was done to our satisfaction. John required 50% of the payment on the first day and 50% after the job was completed. I would highly recommend JT Contracting!

And whenever, there was a change in the scope (requested by us) he was quick to update the cost estimates. This helped ensure there were no surprises in the final cost. We did require to make changes to the scope of the project quite a few times he was able to work the changes into his plans. This helped to ensure we always understood the cost implications of our choices. And we had quite a few of them, given we spent much more than we originally planned. As the project continued, John would come and give us regular updates on progress. When there were specific questions John was readily available to get back to us. Or his team were also able to help us with any questions. We were completely satisfied with JT Contracting and continue to use them when we have other work to be done in our house. And have already sent many of our friends and family to get help from John and his outstanding team.
Description of Work: John Trinkle and his team completely remodeled my home. The scope of the remodel for our home was quite extensive. The house was built in the 1970's and very little work had been done since that time. We needed to go through both the inside and outside of the house to complete the work. John not only completed a majority of the work but also provided guidance and advice on the entire house remodel. He helped with the entire scope of the project despite the fact some of the work was completed by other contractors. The type of work completed by JT Contracting was: 1) Hand built an amazing, unique bar in the basement. It was built from a combination of a RJ Horner side board, a mantel place, and then used quarter sawn oak boards to match the rest of the pieces. 2) Completely remodeled our basement - including home entertainment, wet bar, and doubled the space. Though our basement was finished John needed to go all the way to the studs since we wanted to make so much change.. 3) Cut into a foot thick concrete wall of our cistern and created usable space for a home gym and storage. This included the installation of a concrete floor. 4) Installed a large walk in closet in the bedroom 5) Remodeled the bathroom - included a custom designed shower, sink, and bath tub 6) Remodeled the master bedroom 7) Provided guidance and support for work both inside and outside of the house. INSIDE: A) New kitchen counters and backsplash, B) Painted entire interior of house, and C) Installation of home entertainment system OUTSIDE: A) Installation of city water, B) New roof, C) Re-leveling the yard, and D) Fixed two retaining walls, and D) Installed a patio.

+ 2 moreThe process of the quote and the responsiveness from John Trinkle was good. I got estimates from several other companies and their quote was the lowest. However, the people he had employed had made bad some bad choices during the process. I had come home one day and the tile and grouting was obviously unfinished. The grouting was unclean, sloppy, and had air bubbles. John, the owner, came out immediately when I contacted him and fixed it himself. When they were doing work upstairs, they managed to shake loose a dome light and it shattered. They did clean some of it up, but did not tell us it had happened. We later found bits of glass on the floors and counters. After the initial drywall work was completed, the job was poorly done. When I talked to John, he explained to me that his employee who completed the work was having issues. He did come out immediately, agreed on how I thought it was not done properly and had someone else to come out and complete the drywall work. Everything that we had contracted him to do has been completed and there are no outstanding issues. He did correct everything in a very timely fashion and was very apologetic.
Description of Work: They took out our shower, refinished it, and then reinstalled it. He also completed some other minor household repairs such as drywall patching.

Most of the work was completed when we were at work and it was exciting to see their progress each day when we got home. I had not qualms letting John and his crew work at our house when we were not there. They even watched over our cat when we weren't home. The workers always met our needs and gave suggestions that we had not even thought of.
Description of Work: A full bathroom remodel. JT Contracting took our 1950's bathroom and brought it up to modern day standards. They tore out our old bathroom to the studs and then replaced everything.
