The gentleman did not perform the requested attic insulation estimate (which is what he was here for) and he left me with "when you do the other things I recommended (that had NOTHING to do with attic insulation) call me, otherwise don't waste my time".
Description of Work: The gentleman who came out to the house to give me an estimate for insulating the attic did not give me an estimate. He told me several things that he thought were wrong with the rest of my house and that I needed to take care of the other things before we did any work in the attic. I asked him several times to please give me an estimate on the attic insulation and his response to me was "don't waste my time".

Initial call back took a few days, but then they worked well with our construction company on setting specific date and time to come and spray foam insulation on our basement walls. Showed up when they said they would and finished promptly. No mess afterward. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Sprayed foam insulation throughout our basement during basement finishing project.

I researched different insulations for weeks before deciding to go with Epiphany as I was building my dream home and wanted the best product for the long run in terms of heating and cooling cost and air quality. I decided to go with spray foam but then I learned there are lots of different foams and that open cell which epiphany sprays was the best. Because this insulation works so well, you don't need as big a HVAC units. Epiphany helped me engineer this and saved me lots of money on the HVAC. They were very professional, showed up when they said they were, covered everything that needed to be protected and cleaned up after themselves and others. I have been living in my new home for two years and thanks to my insulation my utility bills are 1/2 what they would have been had I gone with fiberglass insulation.

I discovered spray foam insulation at a Home and Garden Show and decided to use it in our new house. After researching the different types and brands of foam insulation on the market I decided to go with Icynene and Epiphany as the local contractor. Mark High came out and looked at the house in order to provide us a quote. Spray foam insulation is expensive but I feel it is well worth the difference in price over regular batt insulation. We finally got to the insulation stage and gave Epiphany the go ahead. We have vaulted ceiling and exposed 80 year old wood beams in two of the rooms of our house. I was going to cover the beams but Mark told me not to worry about is as this was part of their job and included in the cost of the job. Unfortunately his crew did not cover the beams adequately and got foam over almost all of them. The foam is next to impossible to remove. I have spent countless hours cleaning up the mess these guys made and trying to remove the foam from the wood beams. There were quite a fow other places where they could have easily covered something but instead sprayed foam all over it - for instance a $20 GFCI outlet that a small piece of tape could have covered. I should have insisted that they clean up the mess before giving them the final payment but unfortunately I did not inspect everything or realize the extent of the damage. On top of that when I arrived home everyday I had to clean up the mess of trash that the crew left all over my yard - cans, bottles, food wrappers, cigarettes. I asked them to put their garbage in the trash can on the second day they were here but I still found trash all over the ground when I arrived home. I am happy with the Icynene product but very unhappy with the installation. The insulation keeps the house very well insulated from the outside temperature with very little heating or cooling needed. It also helps to block out noise from outside the house. I would use the product again but not the contractor.
Description of Work: Insulated entire house including crawl space with Icynene spray foam insulation.
