Overall, we are totally dissatisfied with their whole company! Basically, they are con artists, trying to take advantage of the elderly and young alike. No one should use them as they tell you what you want to here and then run if they are questioned. They are smart tho. They moved into the Owensboro area, joined the Chamber of Commerce, had the handyman service get their license and they set up shop. My last conversation with Chelsea did not end well. When asked for the money back, I was told no. When she found out I had already contacted our insurance co. she asked two questions: (1) Was I going to make another claim for the damages, caused by the temp. repair that had been made by them! (2) What did my insurance say? (1) I told her at this time I would not be making another claim as this would cause my mom to have to pay another $1000.00 deductable and due to this claim her insurance would be going up because of this. I later found out that if I do make another claim, Allstate would go after ECSI because they are the ones who caused the leaking ceiling. (2) When I told Chelsea that the insurance wanted us to get another reputable co. here in Owensboro, she tried to tell me that every roofing co. in Owensboro is subcontracted thru ECSI. I knew this was a lie. THEY use sub contacters, not all do. I know! I checked! The roofing companies I spoke with don't even know who ECSI is. I tried to work with this company but to no avail. I would advise any one in the Owensboro area not to deal with ECSI. They will regret it!!
Description of Work: ECSI came knocking on our door even tho we have a " NO SOLICITING" sign right above the doorbell. Brad said he did not see it?. ECSI told us we had several missing shingles on the roof., in fact our whole roof was bad. Said they would fight for us against the insurance company to make sure we receive a whole new roof. I knew the roof already had damage, so did the insurance company. Ecsi told me to blame the damage on a January 2013 wind storm we had here in Owensboro. I told them I would not lie to our insurance co. I was told they would do a temp. repair job and that if the insurance co. did not approve the claim, we would not have to pay for the repair work. They placed a sign in our yard but failed to tell us that if anyone called because of this advertisement, we would receive $100.00 bonus check. They said their work was guaranteed and that we would have to pay nothing untill the job was completely done. On March 4, ECSI arrived at our home early and made the temp. repair. The same day, shortly after the work had been done, our insurance adjuster arrived. Warren, ECSI owner, spoke with agent. He did not fight ,on our behalf with the adjuster, he accepted it quickly, askinfg for the adjuster's card. Warren, then spoke to my husband, who stopped by to see what was going on, and myself telling us that ECSI was accrediated by BBB and had an At Review on Angie's List., and they work closely with Allstate and State Farm. The result of the claim was not what we expected. The adjuster did say a portion of the back roof was damaged and would need to be replaced. Warren then preceded to ask the adjuster if he could get paid for the temp. repair. When the adjuster tried to hand me the check, Warren grabbed the check out of the adjuster's hand. I told Warren my mother needed to sign it since it was in her name. When Warren followed me into the house, after receiving the $300.00, he informed me that I would have to pay $1000.00, my mother's deductible, before any more work would be done. I told him I would have to talk to my mother and husband and I would get back to him. At this point, I thought I needed to check this company out before anything else was done. They move in fast and I felt uneasy about how things were going. I called them the next morning and told them we would have to take so time to figure out what we were going to do. I asked Chelsea how long the temp shingles would be good for and she told me they would last a long time. Red lights were now going off in my head. I checked on BBB and Angie's List and I did not like what I saw. They do not have a BBB Accrediation, they do have an A rating on Angie's List, but if you look closely, both reviews seem identical. I also saw their warranty/guarantee and that there is a Senior Discount that was not given. I also found out that ECSI did not actually do the work. It was done by Veteran's Handymen Service that happens to have just received their license last month, and resides in the same building as ESCI . Several nights later it rained. To our surprise, the ceiling above where they worked started leaking. This is also my mother's bedroom. She woke me up and we spent the entire night cleaning up the water, drying out her bed. She is 85 years old and this would not be good if she were to get sick from this mess. The next morning I called ECSI and told them of the problem that they had made. Warren said he would have someone to our house to find and fix the leak. I asked him to have them come by the next day as my mother was asleep and I did not want to disturb her as she had had a terrible night. He told me he would talk to the office manager, Chelsea, and would call me back. They never did! Finally, I called back because the forcast called for rain and I did not want a repeat of the horrible night. Chelsea promised she would get someone out . Another promise broken. Several days later, my husband got up on the roof. He was not happy with what he saw. 98 nails were left on our roof, old and messed up shingles were left, 2 spots for shingles were still missing and a nail that I had asked Brad to fix was not done. My husband took pictures with his phone. He told me to call Chelsea and tell them we were not satisfied with their work and what my husband had found on the roof, and we wanted our money back because they did not do what they said was done. I did as he asked. Chelsea tried to tell me more lies but at this point, I was done trying to get them back here. I have called my insurance adjuster several times, by this point, and he suggested we get another reputable local roofing company. He also said that this business is basically a storm chasing company. They move into an area that has had storms, go door to door, selling roofs, getting a handyman to do the work. We were not informed of this. This company will not reimburse my mother the $300.00 check. and they are disregarding their own Satisfaction guarantee.
