We have a contact with them where they do, like, a certain number of treatments per year for a set price. We just kind of re-contract every year. I was here the last day they came and normally I am not and it seems like he finished it awfully fast. I am not sure if he treated the whole yard, but I can't say that for positive sure because I did not watch him the whole time. I wondered how he could do the whole yard in the five minutes that he was here. They are pretty responsive. Normally they just do the treatments when no one is home. They don't have a set time, they come at their own time. I guess their professionalism was fine.
Description of Work: We used Wayne's Lawn Care to do, like, a series of treatments. Sometimes they will put down a pre-emergent for weed control and sometimes it is fertilizer. They have a whole cycle that they go through. I am not sure what the last treatment was.

We initially and still do want a bid on the backyard. We never got that bid . They have provided fertilizing etc of yard. Yard looks just okay they said it may take some time so we will see if the season of service makes a difference. It seems they are more comfortable with this than handling the back yard. So we figured that its best not to push for bid.

Total BUST!!!!! Money down the drain. Will never do this again. Gonna put this review on Google as well as the neighborhood Facebook Page.
Description of Work: Came out for the initial consultation for some hardscaping/landscaping. We explained the type of retaining walls we wanted and where we wanted them and the kind of plants we wanted. Emailed him with info on type of and color of rock for the walls. He sent us an estimate for retaining walls that were not at all what we described to him - no dimensions for the walls and no sizes for the plants he was planning to use. My husband spoke with him after we received the estimate and explained the problems. Kyle Volz promised to come back out and take another look and get back with us. We have tried to call him several times and no one answers - have left several voicemails and these have not been returned. Not sure how he got good ratings - had to have been family and friends. We lost $129.00 and our faith in Angie's List.

Member, I would like for everyone to know our side of this story as well. I did come out initially for an appointment on September 2. During the initial visit we discussed your idea of "tiered" walls for the front of the home (like the walls in the "ad" picture) and also a semi-circle wall out front that would include a newly installed tree behind the wall. The initial proposal I sent to you included 2 tiered walls for the front of the home, the semi-circle wall out front, a smaller wall along the left hand side and landscaping that coordinated with these areas. After approximately 3 weeks you called back to get some explanation and ask questions about the proposal and as we discussed the plans I realized you did not want 2 individual tiered walls but one wall across the front with a step down. You also asked that the second proposal include more detail in regards to the wall size, landscaping layout, etc. I told you I would return for new measurements so I could recalculate the materials needed for the changes. I returned to your home on Monday, September 28 to get these measurements and starting working on getting the updated information to you. I sent you the updated proposal that week, October 2 to be exact, with the changes you requested. As of writing this review and I have not received any emails or messages regarding the follow-up information.

These guys are truly great to work with. Kyle was very understanding and always answered my questions/concerns promptly. My only wish is that I could afford to have them trim my hedges so that everything looks immaculate. They do a great job cutting the lawn and clean up afterwards. I would definitely hire them again.

I chose WLS over two other landscapers because Kyle was extremely knowledgeable and promptly responded to any questions I had. Of the other two, one didn't show up for our appointment and the other would not or could not give an acceptable written description of work to be done for the price he was quoting. WLS gave me a detailed written description to what was to be done, showed up on time, and completed the work as promised. I'll definitely be using them again.
Description of Work: Put down sod, mulched planted areas, trimmed existing shrubs, planted shrubs in new area, mulched around stepping stones.

Description of Work: Cleared brush in woods area, sprayed roundup, laid landscaping paper and pine needles over top. Removed bushes, ground tree stump. Laid landscaping rock. Planted new tree and bushes. I highly recommend them they did a wonderful job! Wayne is wonderful to work with.

After years of dealing with sub-par lawn services, WLS was a breath of fresh air. Most important to me was that the lawn was mowed on a regular schedule. I never had to wonder my lawn was going to be mowed; WLS always showed up! This spring (2014) my lawn looked amazing and all the credit goes to WLS. The fertilizing and seeding of the lawn last fall resulted in the most lush green yard on my street. I have no doubt that the lawn was a major factor in the curb appeal of my home when it went up for sale in May. I wish I could bring WLS with me to Michigan!
Description of Work: WLS has been my lawn service in Louisville for the past few years. I put them in charge of my lawn and landscaping which included weekly mowings, annual fertilization program, mulching and seasonal cleanups.

Description of Work: Trim a hedge, pulled ivy off the house,remove weed growing on top of the ivy, remove one timber on the side of the drive, added a tree ring to a small tree in the front yard, and added about 15 bags of grade "A" Cedar mulch. Took them less than 1 1/2 hours to finish.

Member, Sorry we did not meet your expectations in any way it seems. I'm concerned with your quality rating of "D". It appeared you were home when the work was completed and you did not come out or call to say anything about the quality of the work. Our pictures that we took after completing the work seemed to present the curb appeal you said you wanted. I informed you on our site evaluation that the boxwood shrubs would not look great due to the volume of growth you wanted trimmed off of them. With concern to the price of our services your grade was an "F". I am a little confused. You were given the price to complete the work before it was ever completed. You agreed to the price and the work was completed. With concern to Punctuality and responsiveness you gave us a "C". I am also a bit confused with that grade. You requested the work be completed by June 23. The work was completed on June 19th. You initially called our office on June 3, an appointment was set for June 9, and the work completed on June 19th. Still a little confused about responsiveness. That is not too much time based on that time of the year from the call into the office and the date the job was completed. I feel the issue was really over the time required to complete the job. We had four men on that job. Sorry again that you felt you were not professionally taken care of for the services we provided. It is our goal to treat each and every client professionally and ethically.

Had trouble from the start with the crew that came to the house. They couldn't figure out how to use the gate to our back yard and now it is going to have to be replaced. The overall service was fair. Some weeks it was fine and others were not. The cost was high and you have to sign a contract for a year. Not a good experience.

Member, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We would like to also add our side of this so the members can get a fair review of our business. First, I think it is important to let everyone know that we do NOT require anyone to “sign a contract for a year”. While we do use a service agreement, clients do have a 30 day cancellation option if the need to stop service arises. This is clearly stated in the agreement that we have. As far as the price issue, we never bill anything above the agreed to rate. While some company’s offer a “lower” price, many also add additional surcharges and fees at the end of the month. We do not believe this is fair or ethical to consumers so we tell you the price from the start. As far as the gate is concerned, I can recall that area being an issue from the start. We had discussed some options early on to fix that area from the mud and ruts that were present before we started. To my knowledge that was never changed and this is what caused the gate issues. Being in business for 35 years our goal is to provide superior service to every client we work with. We're sorry to hear this member did not feel like we achieved that.

As professional as Kyle and the office were, the crew that did the actual work wasn't. Our lawn had been marked for gas/phone/water lines with flags, and the crew just ran them over. That work had to be redone before we could have our sewer line work completed. Whoever edged the lawn broke every basement window well cover we had (6 of them) because they were careless.I did tell Kyle about it, and he listened and said he would talk to the crew supervisor, but he should have offered to replace the window well covers. My guess is the cost for that would have been $20-$30.
Description of Work: Had them out for quote for landscaping. Kyle was outstanding, professional and prompt. Knowing I was brand new in town, he said he could have a crew out that day to cut/edge my out of control lawn, which I really appreciated. He made it clear the cost would be $55 and this was a one-time shot with no obligation.

He's doing a good job so far. They took care of a lot of growth on the bushes and also took care of throwing the debris away. So far they've come out 2 times and he is coming out again next week. The price listed is for their first visit and there were 3 men doing the job.

Though this company was expensive, they promise that the higher quality mulch will last longer than cheaper mulch used by competitors. They have done the first lawn care fertilization treatment, so only time will tell as to how well that goes. They did a good job overall.
