Brad Abell met with me and was friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. He listened to what I wanted, had good suggestions and took lots of measurements. His price was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. The work was performed mostly in the time frame agreed upon with a slight delay due to the weather. The workers performed admirably under some difficult conditions. The concrete had to be wheeled to the job site by hand and the temperature was hovering around 98 degrees. They did a great job cleaning up after the job was finished. There was one minor drainage issue after the walk was completed. When I brought it to Brad's attention the matter was solved very promptly.

We found this company in Angies List, and couldn't be more pleased. Brad Abel, the son, is the 'face' of the company, and Vincent Abel, the father, started it many years ago. First off, where some other companies we contacted didn't return calls at all, or set an appointment to come look and never showed up, Brad was punctual, on time, looked and acted professional, and knew what he was doing. He gets that not only does the work have to be done, but you have to trust the people involved, and Brad followed every detail every step of the way. The men they use for the work are not just sub contractors, they are people they have had relationships with for years. Every single day they cleaned up, did everything they could to protect carpets and reduce dust, and generally speaking, always treated us and our house with respect. We felt so strongly that we could trust them that we left town for a week and gave them free access to the house. Brad came by every single day after 5:00 to make sure the work that was supposed to be done got done, and that the house was left clean. I've never had that happen before in a remodel! Brad, being a young guy, uses technology to make the business more efficient. As you can imagine, stuff comes up and changes in the original plan are made. Many details I expected to be lost were taken care of...he takes notes with his smart phone, and as such, doesn't let anything slip by. The original qoute, and change orders we had along the way were billed exactly as he told us up front, with no surprises. These guys understand all levels of doing work in someone's house---treat it with respect, keep it clean, keep communication open, etc. They probably are not the cheapest in town, but I would argue that they are the best value in town. We will absolutely use them again when we are ready for a full kitchen remodel.

We absolutely loved working with the Abel family. From the earliest stages of the project, they had great ideas on the design of our deck and listened carefully - the result is exactly what we wanted and has completely transformed a funky space into a wonderful place for entertaining. I was impressed by how quickly they worked, how neat they were - it was an orderly construction area - and how kind they were, despite the heat and the tedious nature of the project. They went above and beyond, adding details that we did not consider, but created a great finished look. We found their estimate to be fair, and they came in exactly on budget. We are already contemplating our next projects and can't wait to work with them again.

We looked into multiple contractors and we were very impressed by their price and professionalism. They did very good work and provided us a lot of guidance on what would work and wouldn't. All of their team members were very professional and kind. Our kids even liked having them over because they were so friendly. I would highly recommend them.

Called and they returned my call. They were very nice and explained they were so far away that I'D BE BETTER OFF USING SOMEONE CLOSER.

I got estimates from three builders. I was very impressed with both Abell and another builder, but Abell's estimate was about $10,000 less, yet met all my requirements. Brad Abell, Project Manager/Estimator, worked with me for several weeks, revising the estimate, making suggestions, answering questions, researching options. We finally came to a consensus, and we hired Vincent Abell Contracting to build our screened in porch. The porch was designed to utilize cedar flooring, cedar columns, and cedar ceiling, and had three electrical outlets and two porch lights, and a ceiling fan. The size was 14' x 20', with a side deck of 8' x 8'. We decided to add two doors. The floor was about 16" off the ground, and level with out kitchen floor. The ceiling had a pitched/gabled roof, with soffit to match our house, and gutters. They began work the first week of April, and quickly got the porch under roof. Vincent and Sean were here on site usually around 8:00 am, rain or shine. And it was mostly rain. The subcontracted the electrical work, the roofing, and the screen installation. I quickly came to trust their judgment. They worked quickly and efficiently. They kept us informed if there were any delays (which there were due to weather and subcontractors). They had to make a few "adjustments" and be creative in the building of the porch. Vincent built a cedar "box" in the ceiling in order for the ceiling fan to be hung. He also created an additional set of steps with a little side wall of cedar in conjunction with the addition of another door. It looks great! The porch was recently finished, and we couldn't wait to enjoy it! We've received many compliments on the cedar, particularly on the ceiling, one wall, and floor. Everyone loves our new porch, as do we! I would not hesitate to use and/or recommend Vincent Abell Contracting for similar work. I felt their prices were fair and reasonable, and they are insured and licensed.

Vincent removed the finished planking, and Brad replaced the planks after the dehumidification. They were both accessible, prompt, and professional. They did excellent work, and the price was great... lower than I expected. I'd be happy to have them work in our house again.

I was highly impressed with Vincent Abell Contracting!! They are great people to work with, our 2 year old daughter still talks about Mr. Vincent, Mr. Shawn and Mr. Tall Man. She also has a pretend game, where she gathers up her tools and drives to the job to work with Mr. Vincent. As a mom, I felt safe and comfortable with these men working in our home. Vincent Abell Contracting replaced and painted all interior hollow doors and frames with Safe N Sound solid doors, They made french doors for our hallway closet so our daugther wouldn't pinch her fingers in the bi-fold door, that was very considerate and I really appreciated them thinking of her safety. They tore up our kitchen tile floor and replaced with larger tiles. They also replaced and painted the wood work around the kitchen floor. The doors and kitchen floor were completed within one week. I was very impressed and pleased!! They also gutted our guest bathroom. They tiled the floor and shower. The tile goes to the ceiling in the shower and they added a decorative strip of tile in the middle of the shower wall, which looks lovely thru our new shower doors. They replaced all existing fixtures with oil rubbed bronze, which makes a nice color contrast. They installed an oil rubbed bronze Hunter combination exhaust fan/light to add more light into the shower. I can't say enough good things about Vincent Abell Contractiing!!! Thank you so much.

came out on time,was polite and told me he would call. thought after he left that he could have given me an estimate on site as it was a simple project with no unseem variables to consider. just think that he thought he wouldn't get the job. read their reviews and knew they would be higher, but i was willing to paid more for a job done right. also had 3 more projects which i am having done over the next year. so they lost a lot more than they realized. As of 3/23/11, I did have two messages that must have missed somehow and I had to get someone else because we didn't connect. I will take them at their word that they did try to contact me.

Many people had warned what a hassle this project would be, but from beginning to end, this was a wonderful experience! Both Mr. Abel and his son Brad were very easy to communicate with and kept us informed throughout the process. Everyone was here when they said they would be and did what they said they would do! The contractor, framers, the foundation crew, the plumber, the electrician, the tiler -- everyone explained what they would do, gave us options, and made helpful suggestions to our plans. Even with tearing out the entire back wall (two-story), the invasion to the rest of the home was minimal; the mess was also minimal. Everyone who worked with/for Mr. Abell was polite and helpful with keeping everything in the rest of the house running and functional throughout the entire project. I would not hesitate to recommend Vincent Abell Contracting for any job, large or small. We couldn't be more pleased!

They are excellent craftsmen as well as creative in assisting with design. Vincent Abell is not only an excellent craftsman, but extremely effecient and knowledgeable and managed the subcontractors so they were on the job as scheduled. The work went very smoothly with very little interruption to the rest of the house. The result was a beautiful new bathroom created out of two closets! I would strongly recommend them! Their prices are very reasonable for the high quality, professional and beautiful work!

Last year, I hired Vince Abell to install bathroom exhaust fans in my two upstairs bathrooms. I was happy with the work so called him to install a new vanity for the downstairs powder room. He and Brad Abell came to the house to see what needed to be done, gave me a quote shortly thereafter, and I scheduled a time for them to do the install a few days later. Vince has great contacts in electricians and plumbers, so he brought along a plumber to rough in a shut off valve and install the new plumbing required (I hadn't ordered the right part so the plumber was able to go and get what was needed). Vince did a great job of installing the vanity plus a filler piece. The new vanity looks great. He also installed a new fireplace screen. Vince is a great guy, I'm comfortable with him in my home, and will call him for all future work. So happy to have found them...I will look no further.

They did an excellent job quickly. We needed to have it completed in a short period of time and even with bad winter weather when it was difficult to get needed materials and get to to the job it was completed on schedule. They were very thorough with the work and made sure everything was done to the highest standards. All workers were very professional and completed the work efficiently. I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again. I rated them excellent in all categories and would say it should be an EXCELLENT EXCELLENT rating.

They were prompt on giving us an estimate, but I felt they weren't really interested because it was a smaller job and I didn't feel they wanted to take time to help me through the process of making the right decisions since this was our first remodel. We also felt the price was too high for what we wanted to have done and when I informed them of that, I got the impression they felt if we had it done any cheaper it would not be done right and I did not feel that was very professional to give that impression.

I thought he was good but I didn't use him; I just used a friend that needed a job. He came out and gave me an estimate and had his plumber out to do an estimate. He was exceptionally nice and I kind of stopped him in the middle of it and told him what the situation was because I didn't want him to spend any more time working on the project. I wouldn?t mind recommending them to anyone. He was very nice and very meticulous. His plumber was the same. I talked to Vincent Abell who was one of the owners. I thought they knew exactly what they were doing. I would definitely consider him in the future.

My experience with Abell Contrators was A+. They built me the snaziest garage in the neightborhood. They were very professional, the job was done in a timely manner and the work is first class . This was my first time building anything and they were very helpful, gave me lots of options (which was a definate plus for me) and explained every step. I would and will use them again

We wanted to add a front porch to my mothers home. Vince was very creative in the design and really listened to what we wanted. He even poured a sidewalk with a few custom characteristics that was better than we could have asked for. The work was done on time with outstanding quality and Abell Contracting has been prompt in responding to a few of our needs since the construction. We had a few loose shingles over a weekend during windy weather and he responded within 2 hours of our request for help. We are so happy with the porch and would highly recommend and will use Abell's in the future.

I found Abell to be very professional. They worked with me about the design and details of the project and were helpful. They asked me to agree to a final plan for the basement to be done by an architect. The plan they brought was very unprofessional and not even to scale-the cost was $150.00. It was a small sketch on a 9x12 paper. I felt this was not a fair exchange. I did not use Abell because their estimate was about 15% higher than the contractor I am using.

They were very professional and prompt initially. However, they were not prompt in getting back to me with the quote, but they were very professional. I disliked that they took too long to give me a quote. They took about a week. After a week they called and apologized for the delay in giving the quote, and I asked them not to bother. When they came first I thought that they were very thorough and would do what they said they would do. I might consider using them in the future for any other projects.

Vincent and Brad provided an estimate for work to be completed on a Laundry room remodel. They arrived at all meetings on time and were very professional. I received a total of 3 estimates from other contractors to do the work. They were the highest estimate. I felt very comfortable that they could do the work and would do it professionally, but the estimate was about 20% higher than the competition. They provided good suggestions on what could be done with the room and were very willing to work with me on what I wanted to do with the room. I will allow them future opportunities on additional work

The gentlemen doing the work were prompt, arriving every morning exactly when they said that they would. Our job was complicated a bit by the fact that my father-in-law is an invalid, and in a wheelchair. The men made certain that his access was never impeded, and they cleaned up the worksite every single day. I cannot imagine a complete gutting of a kitchen that could have been less intrusive, and inconvenient. The workmanship is absolutely top drawer, and my wife now has the kitchen that she's always dreamed of. We could not be happier, and we plan to give Abell's more business in the future.

The contractor responded promptly to our call for an estimate, seemed to understand the problems associated with this job (another contractor had started the job a year ago and had to be terminated because of incompetence). They provided a detailed estimate by email, and then then started and completed the job shortly after our approval. They seemed very professional, and I'm pleased with the work.
