Here is a copy of my termination letter of their services: Dear Trugreen, Please cancel all of my Truegreen Services, Lawn and Insect. I recently submitted a complaint for substandard Lawn service on your internet site and also left a phone message at the local branch for *********, General Manager, asking if he could take a look at my lawn and discuss with him the condition. I didn’t receive any communication from him or the local office. This leads me to believe that there is a bigger failure at the local office than just the lawn techs doing a substandard service. So in summary, with the ongoing condition of my lawn after 1 year of Trugreen Lawn service, lack of leadership and customer service from the local office I am requesting cancellation immediately of all Trugreen services.

It was just fine. I would tell others that, number one, the drivers who come out here, knock on the door and let you know they're here, and of course they always leave a little message of what they did, leave the paper, and if we're not here, they put on their note, sorry we missed you, we're here. Tru Green will call you a few days before and let you know exactly what day they're going to be here. I've used them for years, yes I would use them again.

Scotts Lawn Service is unreliable... We had Scotts Lawn Service provide basic lawn fertilization and weed control for 6-7 months within the past year. The service tech visited regularly and left a bill on the door but our lawn showed no visible signs of improvement. After about 6-7 months as a customer, we contacted Scotts to complain about the condition of our lawn but no one returned our call. We finally decided to contact Better Business Bureau and file a complaint. After our BBB complaint was filed, we received a visit from the local Scotts manager and were promised that our problems would be taken care of and Scott's would split seed our lawn when the weather cooled. Cool weather came and Scott's didn't show up to seed the lawn until we filed a second complaint with BBB. We were told by Scotts that our lawn treatment would start after allowing 3 weeks for the seed to sprout and grow. We called Scotts after the time promised passed and they had failed to show for the lawn treatment. Scotts told us they would be out within a week to treat our lawn. It's been more than a week as of today and Scotts hasn't shown up to treat our lawn...

It was good. They come during the day and we are not here. They come out once a month and they usually call us a day or two in advance to let us know because we have dogs so we have to lock the dogs up. We've been using them for about a year.

They were prompt about coming out and they did the service that they said they were going to do and passed us information about what they had done. They were courteous and so on. However we decided that we would not be using them again after the last fall because we are trying to cut down on our expenses and we have a limited budget and we are just going to do our own work as we can. They said they were going to do treatment for moths and we think they didn’t do a great good job. We didn’t have problem with their pricing but they are pretty competitive. We used them because we had heard from others that they used them and liked them.

This was the sixth treatment in a series of six for the whole year. I went with Scotts because they claimed to do a great job of killing weeds. Their weed killing efforts were bad. They had to come out twice especially to kill the weeds and did not do a good job. Even the fertilization seemed to be uneven.

Very dissatisfied with service. After contacting our service technician several times, to no avail, I contacted the office manager. We had excess amounts of crabgrass growing that had not been addressed, yet the routine service continued at the rate of $50 per month. When questioned, I was told they would check into it and get back to me within 24 hours. 4 days later, I called back and was told there was nothing they could do except to wait because it would eventually die after the first snow. I have received letters from our neighborhood association regarding the condition of our lawn and it is quite embarrassing. I have since had another lawn care company come and after one treatment, the lawn looks perfect!!!!

I discussed my concerns with the sales guy extensively and signed up @ 28 May 2013. We received one automated call after another telling us that our lawn would be serviced in the next 2 days but no one arrived. I finally called their office and she said she'd get someone out there in the next day or two. We asked for a phone call so that we'd know to lock the dogs inside the house. We didn't get a call. He did how up @ 20 Jun. He left a small "keep off lawn" sign but no invoice or anything else. I called the office again and she said that he knew better and would send one out right away. Around July 1, we didn't notice any weed reduction. I called the office AGAIN and she said that she couldn't get anyone out for a week. We were going out of town so we arranged to have him come on 19 July. Once again, we got several automated calls but no one showed up. I called on 22 Jun to cancel the service. The office person laughed when I said that it appears that her technician is a total flake. She cancelled my service without even trying to make it right. She sounded like she's heard these complaints before

I will find another lawn service company. But honestly, if you are looking for a company to treat your lawn, stay away from Scotts. Once they get their money, they lose interest. Again, their products are very good, but this branch/division of Scott's is poorly run and operated. Very unprofessional.

Scotts assured us that if we had not seen any growth in a few weeks they would come out again and re-seed free of charge. Well...you guessed it. The bare spots are still in my yard and after calling these people several times I finallly gave up. All they wanted was my check for 351.00.

They seem more interested in selling additional services than taking care of the lawn. They tend to over-fertilize, but do not kill the weeds.
I think they are limited in what chemicals they can use, and if the problem is more severe than what you can buy al Wal-Mart will take care of, you are stuck.
Lawn does not look good, and they seem to be content with the results. when I call about a weed problem, they blame the weather...
