It went great. They were real good and listened to what I wanted. He helped me to match my appliances and did not try to sell me anything I did not want. I found two of the same appliances on sale at another appliance store and they matched the price.
Description of Work: They sold me a refrigerator, stove, microwave, washer and dryer and a dishwasher.

When I walked in the door, I was knowledgeable about what I needed and the sales person and I quickly closed on the right model and options. She was quite helpful and responsive in getting a quote to me. I was expecting that Trend would be my source for this item. The problem with Trend was the quote itself -- the terms were ludicrous. Trend quoted full retail. Trend insisted on full prepayment before placing the order. Trend even insisted on a big installation prepayment (50%) more than 4 weeks in advance of the hood arriving... Well, in advance of their ability to schedule the installation. In the face of such terms, I went looking for another supplier. I ended up buying exactly the same item for more than 15% less than Trend; and though I did *choose* to prepay the full price, I was given an additional 2.5% discount for that prepayment. And, of course, I did not have to prepay any installation; nor did I use Trend's quote as a tool in getting the better price. I will not return to Trend. Their staff was helpful -- but high end appliance store staff are generally helpful. At the same time, this item was not cheap. That >15% discount added up to almost $1000. A company that insists on pricing that is that far off its competition does not get my business.

We moved in the new house in Sept. 07 The house built for us by Penney Love a local builder in Louisville. Shortly after moving in we realized we had a smoke problem. Every time we cooked anything on our grill, the stove and grill we have are made by Thermador and hood is made by Vent a Hood. We contacted Trends and they sent out service man from their company. After looking at the hood he made some calls and came back and said the hood might be too small for the grill. I told trends they needed to get it straightened out. After more frustration with them I asked them to call the factory rep. from the hood company, he came out to inspect and at that point he thought the vent going to the out side was wrong but it turned out to be ok. He said the size of the hood was fine but mentioned that the hood was lower than it should be. The builder and a sales person were present from Trends, after further examine the HCAC company came later just to make sure they had the correct duct installed they verified with a picture that was sent to Vent A Hood. About a week later Trends came back and told me that I had told them how high to install the hood and this was the reason it was not working correctly. I have never told them how high to place the hood, there is strict standard that must be followed when installing the hood, they are just tying to get out of making it right. The repair is going to be expensive to do, but it is thier error and not mine. I paid them a lot of money for their expertise which I did not receive. With all of the appiances in the house we problaly spent around $18,000 with them only to get this kind of workmanship.
