As I feared it would have been much more expensive to repair our appliance than to replace it. Even though we did not have our appliance repaired, I appreciated the professionalism and honesty of Mr. Stout, and would definitely call on him for any future appliance repair needs.

I called Chenoweth Appliance were I purchased the washer/dryer set to get a recommendation on a repair company for out of warranty units. They recommended Stout's Appliance and I called the number they gave me and left Stout's a message at 12:30PM. Within 10 minutes, I received a return call from Stout's to get the information about the issue.They said their technician, Randy, would be calling me this afternoon. Being a Saturday, I thought I would have to wait all afternoon, but Randy called at 2:34 PM and indicated he would be arriving in 15 minutes. He arrived within the 15 minutes. I told Randy that part of the lid switch assembly had fallen apart in my hand, so I knew that the problem was electrical, and I showed him the remaining pieces. Randy took the washer apart and pulled out the rest of the old switch assembly wires and told me the cost of the switch assembly replacement. He got a new assembly out of his van, put it into the washer, and then ran a test to see if everything was in working order. As the cycle dumped the water, it started making a terrible grinding sound and Randy alerted me about an additional problem with the drive belt. He told me about the additional cost for the drive coupling and went to his van as the washer was cycling out water and making the grinding sound. He worked on the replacement of the drive coupling and then the washer was humming quietly as it cycled. The repair took within an hour to complete.

I guess I expected more than the knob to be glued.

STOUT'S APPLIANCE is highly recommendable. They were on time. They called ahead of time and told me when and who was coming. When he got here he was incredibly clean. He fixed my dishwasher and cleaned all the dirty stuff that had accumulated. He told me not to use the plastic tablets. He was extremely thorough and clean.
