St Matthews Exterminating Co

Years ago, we started having mice, insect and even skink problems in the house. We called St. Matthews and they came promptly and sprayed, threw little packets around the basement floor for the silverfish, threw poison treats to kill the mice in the basement crawl space and set up bug bombs. Unfortunately, the problems continued. We continued to use them every so often but a couple of years ago had another company come in who immediately solved the insect and mice problem by sealing off the crawl space and filling gaps around the basement door frame. Although its been a few years since we last used St. Matthews Exterminating, I can't imagine ever using them again. They didn't help us find the source of the problem but were only interested in throwing out poison and insecticide. I'd describe what they did was more of a band-aid, not a fix, and as it turned out, most of the insecticide packs they used I was able to find off the internet and do it myself for a lot cheaper had I just wanted to put down insecticide and mouse killer. And as for the mouse killer they put down, when they put it down, they said the mice would eat it and run back outside to die, or that if they did die in the crawl space, the poison would dry them up so fast you'd never smell it. The mouse poison worked, but it was pretty gross going down to the basement laundry only to kind a couple of dead mice and their bloody feces all over the floor . And as for the smell, I can't really say the poison packets made any difference. In several instances where mice died in the crawl space, the smell was SO utterly nauseating that we could barely stay in the house, and that smell lingered for weeks. Now that we found the source of the mouse and insect problem, things are much better, but that's no thanks to this exterminating company.

They did a thorough job.

Everything went fine, taking roughly 9 AM to 2 PM. All personnel were friendly and did a great job explaining what they were doing and why. I also will get the yearly checkup for an additional fee, since I know we have termites lurking in one corner of our property.

They were prompt, courteous and followed up with a free treatment. I was extremely pleased with their service and now we have no bugs.

I called to find out about the company and found out their workers are actual employees and are drug screened and background checked, so I booked an appointment for a couple of days later. Ron came out and I showed him where we had caught a mouse in a trap in the garage and where we had found one dead. He was very kind and passed on a great deal of information. He looked all around the outside and inside of the house and told me he thought we were fine and no action on their part was really needed. What a great shock...to have a provider give an honest opinion, even if it means no work for them at that moment. We will certainly use them in the future for general bug control because I feel this is a good, customer oriented company.

They are on time and do not overcharge,

I didn't spend anything with them. I wish he would have done a little bit further check. It seemed like he was in a hurry. He told me he had a long, long day that day. He was in a hurry to go back. The reason I got the company is because when I researched it they said it was one of the best ranked companies. They were recommended by Angie's list. That guy may be fine. The guy may be right in his estimation and I don't know. He was informative. I might be using them again.

I called the company, and they were able to come out the next day for an inspection. The gentleman who came checked the entire exterior and interior of our home for ants and showed me the problem spots that we have. He also educated me as to what parts of our yard were more likely to attract ants. He gave me tips for what we could do on our own but also recommended a treatment. He also noted on the service order that we own birds and that they should be put upstairs before spraying. They were able to come out to spray the next day, but it did not work with my schedule. The next week, they came to spray and lay granules in and outside of our home. The men who came also treated the area around our detached garage even though that was not part of our service order. Since the treatment, we have seen even more ants...but they are all dead.

We are pretty pleased with the service. They are very helpful and they are punctual. I think that they are very good. I think that the price is pretty comparative. We tell them what we are having problems with and they are very responsive. They are very good. They will be here in three weeks.

They are responsive when you call them, friendly and have provided effective treatment. Also, when we compared pricing, they were less expensive than their competitors.

They came, they did what they were contracted to within the specificed time period, left and did follow up in 6 weeks.

They were on time and courteous when they came and did the estimate. They were again on time and courteous when they came and did the work. That was the best thing that I loved about them.

They came back again for no extra charge because we still had ants.

They were able to come and inspect our house the next day. They arrived on time and conducted a thorough inspection. They think our noises are caused by a raccoon-- they only do smaller rodents, so we are onward to an animal control company. Will use St. Matthews again if we need them for the pests they handle (termites, mice etc).

I have used them for 15 years and I am impressed with the work. I would recommend them to anyone because they are always on time and friendly. They make sure to answer your questions and get the work done in a very short amount of time. I am overall pleased with the service.

Saint Matthews told us not to come back to the house for 4 hours because the spray may bother us. They also suggested that we have our trees trimmed back a little from the house and we shouldn t have that problem again. We did have the trees trimmed and we have not had ants since.

THE SERVICE PROFESSIONALS WERE GREAT. THEY WERE RUNNING A LITTLE BIT LATE. THEY WERE COURTEOUS AND RESPECTFUL OF OUR LIVING SPACE. I FELT COMFORTABLE HAVING THEM IN MY HOME AND I WON'T LET ANYONE IN THE BASEMENT. WE FOUND DEAD MICE ALL OVER THE YARD SO WE KNEW THEY DID THEIR JOB.

THEY'RE VERY GOOD. THEY RETURN CALLS, HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND ARE VERY POLITE AND THAT'S IMPRESSIVE, YOU DON'T SEE MUCH OF THAT ANY MORE THESE DAYS.

THEY'VE BEEN COMING FOR 15 OR 17 YEARS, HOWEVER LONG IT'S BEEN AND THEY'RE FINE. I SEND THEM A NOTICE AND THEY COME AND THEY TELL ME WHEN THEY'RE GOING TO COME AND THEY DO THEIR WORK AND THEY'RE FINE. I HAVE NO BAD WORDS TO SAY ABOUT THEM.
