He has performed hundreds of indoor environmental and infrared thermography forensic building science services specific to insulation/energy-loss issues and invasive indoor filamentous molds/fungi and the cause and origin for those infestations. His work experiences, qualifications and certifications in this field include:
20 years of journeyman building trades experiences in residential, commercial and industrial construction and 20-plus years of corporate logistical project planning and project management.
One year internship (2002-03) at InspectAir, LLC (Cincinnati, OH /Northern, KY), an indoor air quality and mold inspection and mold testing firm. Trained in mold inspection and fungal testing methodologies and protocols. Assigned in-depth white paper and other research responsibilities to obtain and substantiate legitimate information and reliable resources related to the burgeoning and rapidly-growing mold industry.
Certified Mold Inspection/Testing (CMI) and Certified Mold Remediation (CMR) credentialed ratings from National Association of Mold Professionals (Novi, MI). Curriculum focused on U.S. federal and individual states mold industry guidelines, methodologies and protocols for inspection, remediation, testing techniques, documentation, reporting and required services equipment, tools and personal protection equipment, mold/fungi mycology and individual exposures and their health effects.
Certified Infrared Building Science Thermographer (ISO 9001), credentialed training with FLIR Systems Infrared Training Center (N. Billerica, MA). Course certification meets or exceeds American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) SNT-TC-1A guidelines. Curriculum included: techniques for discovery, documentation and reporting Cause and Origin data of plumbing and building envelope water leakage, material assessment of post-flood and fire water damages, energy inefficiencies, electrical problems, and innocuous conditions that can lead to incipient catastrophes.
