ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE...... Rubicon employees were uncooperative in that they refused to honor Lowe's contract specification to build up floor for the new kitchen cabinets. Instead of installing the necessary raised flooring for the new cabinets to sit upon, they refused to do anything other than use shims on the corners of the cabinets to bring them up to the correct level with the rest of the floor. (Our flooring was raised with a wood floor addition after the old, existing cabinets were already in place, hence the difference in floor levels). So, our new cabinets are only resting on shims on the corners, and could "shift "if the house should ever move on its foundation. When we brought this to their attention, the owner of Rubicon said, "If you don't like the way we do it, get yourself another installer. WISH THAT WE HAD!!! When the installer was putting the hardware on one of the kitchen drawers, he drilled the holes in the wrong place, so a new drawer cover had to be ordered. When he installed the door on the pantry, he could not get it to hang straight, so he ordered a new door, claiming that it was warped. When he installed the pantry on its ledge, he did not get the edges to line up, so he said that we needed to order a "skin" for the pantry to cover the uneven edges. There were several cabinet doors that needed to be replaced according to him, due to warping or faulty workmanship. STAY AWAY FROM RUBICON ..........

As with any major renovation project there were many surprises once the work actual begun. Lance Spenser, owner, and Sam were able to adjust and work around issues as they came up. Every member of the team that Lance had sub'ed with to do the various work (electrical, Plumbing, drywall, etc.) were professional and prompt. They cleaned up at the end of the each day and were friendly during their time at our house. Sam did most of the general work during the remodeling. He was always courteous and friendly during the process and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Lance managed the project and had each of the sub contractors scheduled to make the remodeling flow from start to end.
