Hired RL Plumbing to clear drain used by my sump pump and washing machine. The drain appeared to be clogged by tree roots, but not able to determine if that was the cause. Was not able to clear the clog. RL Plumbing was able to run about 75 - 80 feet of cable through the drain. Believe the drain is part of an old septic tank line. Acquired service of another plumbing company for a 2nd opinion. This is review 1 of 2. The next review is of the 2nd plumbing company.

Good quality work. But I had issues when I decided not doing other jobs, the person was extremely rude and mean with my wife.

Plumber was on time and fixed the water heater very quickly. I am thrilled after being without hot water for a few days. I was concerned he would want to sell me a new water heater, but that was not mentioned. Great service!

Ron, the Master Plumber, seems to have a deep working knowledge of how to deal with the many complexities that can arise in doing a fairly complicated installation job.

Quoted 600-800. He made a mistake, and it came out to be 1200. Never called to tell me about it. Found out after the work was done. They will get the job done, just not great when it comes to communication.

Hired for several projects and was left very frustrated. After over $600 dollars in labor paid out all I got for my trouble was a tub that still leaked, two faucets changed out in the bathroom without changing out the drain and pop up (not informed this work was not done until after I called him - parts had been taken with the plumber as if he had supplied them. Kitchen sink and faucet installed satisfactorily but had to ask for my old sink to be returned as he took this with him as well without asking. A water line was hooked up to my fridge - the fridge had a leak and water was leaking onto the floor. I was assured the water had been turned off only to find out later that the valve in the basement had not been turned off completely and my floor continued to get wet until I found the problem. The biggest reason he was hired was for the leaking drain and even that didn't get fixed. I was not at all happy with the level of service received.

When I contacted Ron, I got the impression that he did not want to come out for an estimate; he came to my house, however. He inspected the area and named a very reasonable price. Keep in mind that I live in a small shotgun house, and the basement steps are very narrow and steep. He was able to schedule the job the next day. Ron and his assistant arrived, went right to work, but within a few minutes I heard yelling and cursing (the f-word). I thought someone had been hurt, but it was Ron yelling at his assistant, threatening to fire him. When the assistant came up the stairs, I asked him if everything was OK; he replied yes. The rest of the installation went smoothly, even when Ron and his assistant were wrangling the 40 gallon water heater down the very narrow basement steps. After the job was completed, Ron was very non-communicative, basically saying, "we're done." I asked him about his work process, and he replied that he didn't have time to go into details. I said that I would like some feedback, he said the unit was guaranteed for 6 years, and to call him if there were any problems. That's all I received. I would rate the quality of the work as a 5. Ron needs a few lessons in employee and customer relations.
